I wish they could've gone off on the frozen (and merida/brave) characters' costuming instead of being stuck with their canon animated film costume designs. I feel like that would've done soooooooo much for making the characters feel more integrated into the world and the show. they did some amazing costumes on this show and it feels so weird for all these characters to be limited to one (maaaybe two) of their animated original outfits. none of the classic Enchanted Forest characters dress in a carbon copy of their Disney cartoon counterparts, so it feels so inconsistent and weird that the frozen and brave characters do, and just makes it way easier to see them as forced, clunky inclusions when you're constantly visually reminded of that dissonance

the fact that when emma and regina hug, it's mostly just so they can both hide their face from each other... choosing to hug your friend after they told you they're engaged might be a normal reaction in other friendships but not for emma and regina !!! no they're both like. oh fuck this is gonna change things. this is gonna hurt. also "i'm happy for you emma, I really am"?? am i supposed to believe that???

if we're being so for real, i was a goner on the winter soldier storyline in the mcu the second they cast sebastian stan as james "bucky" buchanan barnes because i was watching once upon a time season 1 episode 17 hat trick when it aired on march 25, 2012 and became deeply enamored with jefferson's tragic backstory, manic moments, fun little kidnapping habit, and deeply deeply sad eyes

do you ever think about the fact that henry’s probably super comfortable on the jolly roger like so much so that it’s like another home for himself?

based on the fact him and killian have regular sword fighting lessons on the jolly roger and that they regularly go sailing together (both canon events), henry’s probably spent as much time there as he has at the other homes (regina’s, emma’s, snowing’s, etc.) and he probably knows the place as intimately as he knows the others.

getting into headcanon territory here, i don’t care, but henry and killian have probably done sails overnight/multiple days (both with emma and without) and henry’s probably declared the lieutenant’s cabin or they do sleepovers in the bunks and henry’s got a favorite bunk. he probably knows the ship almost as well as killian, knows which floorboard will come up and which stairs creak. he probably has killer hiding spots.

i didn’t watch s7 but it’s probably why he jumps into navigating wish!hook’s jolly roger with such ease and knowledge — because he knows killian’s jolly roger so well.

and that’s just really important to me. :’)

saw a comment about how Emma was the only one who gave Hook a chance to change for the better (and I wouldn't know bc I stopped watching in s3) but it made me think of how Rumple changed for Belle when he couldn't for his own son, and Hook couldn't change for Baelfire either but apparently did for Emma, and man this one hurts. that's gotta fuck with you if you're Baelfire.
