Political cartoons (literally) demonizing Joey Drew, ca. 1935. Many of these cartoons existed back when the studio was becoming well-known. Surprisingly enough, the addition of the Hays code actually dwindled the number of these cartoons, as well as the protests and death threats following the studio. How the Hays code barely scratched Bendy’s image, even brightened it, still remains a mystery to this day.

The first is a cartoon of a much more evil looking Bendy coming out of a silver screen and holding a woman hostage, as well as stabbing a pitch fork through the movie theater seats. Various moviegoers look on in horror. On the top of the screen, a big, grinning demon Joey Drew is drawing Bendy’s horns.

The second cartoon is another demon Joey shielding his face as an angry mod offscreen jabs at him with more pitchforks and torches. Bendy hides behind him with a grimace. The title of the piece says “PUT THAT DEMON BACK IN HELL!” and the barely seeable bottom text says “Joey Drew is no “brilliant mind”.” End ID)

The thing that gets me about history and humanity is that you never know what is immortalized, and the things that will be immortalized are things you would never think.

I saw a person sharing a new tattoo, and it was one of Onfim's drawings. A boy who lived so long ago he is barely a blip now, but his drawings meant so much to people that somebody is now permanently marked in their skin with one of those drawings. Do you ever look at the things you make and just sit there and wonder if this is the thing that future people look at? Do you ever look at your art, your writing, your schoolwork, or anything that is yours and just wonder who will find it, who will fall in love with a piece of your humanity and become overwhelmed with emotion over? It's not unlikely. It's not totally unlikely that somebody will find a piece of you in the distant future and devoid of any other context of who you were will still love you because you were here. You were here, and you are still here, even hundreds or thousands of years later. Treat yourself with the same love that so many have for dear Onfim.

Me and my partner @the-good-ol-art-corner collaborated on this AWESOME poster for one of our favorite Bendy Aus @toontiedterror by @dictatortirah !! I am in LOVE with how it came out and I am so excited to see how this story and world develops!!

I put so many details into this, it is absolutely silly, but I had a swell time doing them. Those headshots on the missing posters belong to the staff from our own Bendy project @howdy-folks-its-showtime and we didn't even intend to make two versions. But I put so much into the background... I just had to make a version without the foreground to show it off <3

Second, Detailed Reference Sheet for Bendy: 1925

Bendy’s au design has close-set eyes, a sharp, wide smile, a tail, and cloven feet with white spats over them. The extreme expressions on the top are Bendy’s face scrunched up seriously as he salutes, him wincing and laughing with his forked tongue flicking out, and him in utter shock with his jaw dropped. The text on the top left says “BENDY: Tombstone Picnic”. There’s text under it, but it’s mostly illegible. However, it seems to be greyer than everything else, and corrupting the image. End ID)

Well first of all THANK YOU SO MUCH for the kind compliment, I’m super glad you like my designs !! And secondly, I'm not at all in the habit of making references for my character designs so I actually didn't have any for my son. So thank you for giving me a good reason to make this overly saturated doodle page of my boy hehe
