Thinking about how neat it is that, since the beginning, Dr Strange comics was where Marvel would experiment with weird, psychedelic, non conventional plots and concepts, and that tradition generally has continued in modern incarnations. The weaker runs are when they reign it back and tone it down for more conventional comic readers, but those golden nuggets still are a thing and I think that’s beautiful.

I enjoy MCU Strange, don’t get me wrong, but it is the most conservative version of the character. I liked MoM a lot because it felt a little more like a transition from the mundane feeling DS1 to how weird the comics can be, but there’s so much further it can go.

Anyway, thinking about my favorite modern DS comics including the Aaron run and Fall Sunrise and how Fall Sunrise is a work of Art with a capitol A.

Red Symbiotes Lore and Carnage.

i mentioned before Red Symbiotes are primarily used as weapons. But honestly, the Reds have their own design within their already rarity. So, lets take a look:

Red Symbiotes were not always a rarity. In fact, they made up half of the Symbiotes. We know that the Symbiote God, Knull, created all from his blade. His messenger. His warrior. His guard and one who led. Was a Red Symbiote named Savager. The first. Savager led them in Knull's word and guidance. The species could rest easy, knowing they were safe.

However, Savager was betrayed by a lower Symbiote. Impaled and left for dead. In terrifying rage, Knull wiped out a majority of Red Symbiotes. And then further punished the race he created. By making it so rare for any more Reds to spawn.

"If you can not be grateful for the Gift and luxury, then you will lose it and have to gain it."

And thus Reds were so hard to come by. but what was even rarer, was any Reds coming for Savager's line. Several spawns, grand spawns, great great great spawns. And not one single Red. Many believed this was part of the curse. Until one showed promise. A warrior and researcher.

Named Venom.

Venom was a descendent of Savager and was the last hope of the line. If no Reds came from Venom, whether sexually or asexually. It was believed hope for Savager's legacy would end. Now, we know Venom turned against Knull and thats why he was exiled. Upon him being exiled, many grieved the loss of the Savager legacy.

And then Carnage came to be. Carnage is not only the first Red of his family line ( which that alone qualifies him to be royalty. As it does not matter if a spawn is the oldest/youngest/middle. If they are the first Red, they are royalty. ) but he is the first Red spawned from Savager's legacy. Something many thought would never come to be.

Should Carnage ever come to the home planet, he will be put on highest honor. And will become Knull's Established. Just like Savager was.

**| Realization of the night (or technically very early morning): in a modern AU Vincent would be a late night talk show host (think Colbert).

The game shows he so adored aren’t the same, so that’s out— but they have the same sort of showmanship and public facing social charm he excels at. They tend to still be headquartered in New York, because even a modern Vox isn’t meant Hollywood and fictional TV dramas like Netflix makes! They’re very much the spiritual successor of what he what was doing.

Just imagine the chance to let him lampoon the politics, he should be allowed some of it as a treat. Never let it be said I can never be a magnanimous mun!

I know I’ve posted a lot ooc today and I’ll knock it off after this/go tidy up the blog, but —! Y’all. Y’ALL. It’s like fifteen minutes worth of a doodle so far but listen —

I tore all the ligaments in my hand I use to do art about a year and a half ago. I have been getting steroid injections, but had been steadily losing mobility in that arm for the last year, despite the best of efforts. I have been in intensive as fuck hand therapy all of this summer to avoid having to undergo surgery that would mean I’d probably lose a lot of my mastery of art — or give it up entirely. Regardless, I haven’t been able to create or work on anything since September of last year and was losing a lot of my “muscle memory” for it?

I still have a lot of pain and I’m not in a good way just yet — and may never fully be in the clear, unfortunately — but art! ART!!! I know I’m capable of writing articulate and eloquent things when I want to but I don’t care right now: I’M DOING ART!! IT DOESN’T HURT!! MY HAND ISN’T SEIZING!!! *screaming*

I don't recall it being in canon, but, I do very clearly remember a picture of her and Mimi in a police uniform. I think I might have searched it up even when I did the outfit? But, point is, I already had the outfit done for her, so obviously it's my choice for her costume. Was considering something vampire-ish with a big high standing collar cloak or the likes, too, but couldn't make that, so this is my choice.
