With Me
“Follow that goddamn fool.”
Jamie took a moment to look out at Major General Arnold chasing glory and back to Colonel Morgan. He knew he must see to it, but he had just nearly killed his cousin and his son; what were the chances they’d all survive another confrontation? He could hear Claire scolding him after the first battle and hated the thought of her scouring the field for his body again, her tone shrill and her face twisted with grief. What if this time it didn’t tickle when she checked him for wounds?
I willna leave ye mo nighean.

Outlander | Jamie & Claire
It was possible to leave things behind—places, people, memories—at least for a time. But places held tight to the things that had happened in them, and to come again to a place you had once lived was to be brought face-to-face with what you had done there and who you had been.
