GUESS THE COUNTRY! :) Kuldne Kodu - the Golden Home - an 800 m long terraced housing ensemble in Pärnu, built in stages from early 70s to 1984 for the employees of Pärnu KEK (Pärnu Construction Company for Collective Farms). One of the definitive masterpieces by architect Toomas Rein. The whole quarter, designed largely by Rein and Ell Väärtnõu, is a must-visit when in Pärnu, a lovely resort town and 'summer capital' of Estonia. Kindergarten Trall in Pärnu, Estonia. Built in 1978 for the children of the employees of Pärnu KEK (Pärnu Construction Company for Collective Farms). Yet another masterpiece by Toomas Rein. The legendary kindergarten Trall in Pärnu, Estonia, designed by Toomas Rein with interiors by Helle Gans, and completed in 1978. The one-off building was commissioned by the Pärnu Kolkhoz Construction Office - a sort of (very wealthy) capitalist entity within the Soviet system - and is located in the impressive, albeit unfinished, residential quarter of the company employees. And we hear it's currently being renovated! 😄 Our exhibition "Come Out and Play. Modern Kindergartens" curated by Sandra Mälk is open for its last days, until August 25.
