Hello hello! yet another prompt from this here prompt list! life is absolutely kicking my ass rn, so it's not very long, but I hope you enjoy it nevertheless :)

you know the drill, much fluff, much love, much sirius being hopelessly in love with Remus (because if I write Remus being hopelessly in love with sirius you know I gotta do it the other way around too :))

8. running your fingers through your lover's hair

God, he’s so fucking beautiful

Sirius huffed in frustration, running a hand through his hair, smearing reds and browns and golds through the dark strands. 

“Oh sweetheart, you alright?” 

Sirius looked up, meeting the amber-gold eyes of his beautiful husband, currently sprawled over a maroon couch, looking for all the world like an angel given mortality. He sighed, revelling in the warmth of his partner’s divinity. Remus licked his lips, a cavalier gesture; like Sirius’s world didn’t stop and start with the motion, like Sirius wouldn’t do anything to kiss the ambrosia off his sinful mouth. 

“Darling?” 

Sirius startled, realising he hadn’t quite answered the question. 

“I’m lovely, thanks. Just…”  He doesn’t know, how couldn’t he? He is the sun and all the stars. The majesty of the universe becomes him. 

Remus tilted his head, the slightest frown furrowing his brow. 

“Padfoot, darling, is it something I did? Am I sitting wrong? Oh! It’s because I moved, isn't it? And now the lighting’s all wrong and you’re already halfway through the painting and I’ve fucked up the angles and—”

“Re.”

Remus stopped in his tracks, gazing quizzically at his husband.

Oh lord, you are the sweetest of addictions, my love. How could I ever get enough of you? forever would be too little.

“I—”

“Oh darling, c’mere.” 

Sirius walked over to the love of his life, going weak in the knees at the sight of his husband looking up at him from his seat on the couch.

Did nobody tell you, darling? Gods kneel for nothing and no one. What a miracle to have you here before me, with me, loving me, for however long you’d wish.

Remus tugged Sirius into his lap, Sirius’s knees bracketing his waist. He gazed up, meeting Sirius’s gaze, gently brushing a tear from his cheek. 

Oh. 

He hadn’t even realised that he’d been crying, a humble offering of his mortal coil to a higher power. 

I guess it’s true what they say. A god’s true form is simply too beautiful for a man to withstand; but god, I’d go blind before I look away. 

 Sirius pushed shaking hands through Remus’s hair, leaning down to kiss him, wordlessly pressing his reverence into sun-warm skin. 

“What’s on your mind, my love?” 

“You”

Remus hummed, sucking kisses into the column of Sirius’s neck. 

“Want to talk about it?” 

Sirius shook his head, Remus’s curls brushing his chin with the movement. 

“I don’t know that I could.” 

Remus pulled back, cradling Sirius’s face with both hands. 

“You know I love you right” 

Wow. 

Sirius smiled, bright enough to light up the entire city.

“I love you too, moonshine.”

More than you’ll ever know.
