ok so one of the things that's occurred to me reading the old Gortash/Peachtree letters is how much like Raphael Gortash sounds in those letters.

The word choice, the metaphor, the imagery... And it makes sense! It's an interesting parallel considering there's actually so little relevance otherwise to Gortash having spent his formative years in the House of Hope.

He learned how to be effective dealmaker, politician, and tyrant from the one example he witnessed first hand. Of course he did! But that means he also absorbed some of Raphael's flourishes! It reinforces BG3's major theme of cycles of abuse, of breaking them or continuing them. Like Astarion becomes Cazador 2.0 when you ascend him complete with possessive language, Gortash uses words and flirtation to effectively tempt his targets towards his own ends ie Raphael.

Otherwise, what's the fucking point of his backstory if Gortash is generic politician-archetype bbeg #45357?

i love that the collector in the owl house is canonically he/they because back when the season 2 finale aired, I had just split him and they said that he was he/they. So, he told me first. They told me first. And to be fair, Pan is not only just the collector, he's got two other introject sources as well. But I know he's the/they because they told me.

Hey, we have a new alter, I think.

Meet Pan (named after the god of the Wild)! He/they, young boy that floats and loves to play games! He has multiple sources.

First two influences, "Strange Boy" from Pocket Mirror and Tet from No Game No Life

And lastly, The Collector from The Owl House.

Pan really identifies with the last one but notes that he has previous influences from other sources. I don't know if they have any particular appearance, just fluffy hair, sharp teeth and mismatched eyes, he is rather new but rather old at the same time. Plus he has a lot of knowledge of the system, but they said that "Why would anyone believe what a crazy person has to say." So yeah.

He loves to play games, including Kirby and tarot, and only shows up to talk when I'm alone.

Maybe he'll post some more in the future, who knows.
