i mean ... if i was the stepdad to a little half-vulcan girl who went through similar childhood trauma as me, had a similar starfleet career as me, was just as much of a cunt bitch as my husband, and who was a close friend of my late son ... and she knew how hard it was for me to lose him ... and was the one to comfort me after his passing ... if that little girl showed me her son, my grandson, and he looked like my dead husband who raised her around the eyes ... i would also smile like that. I think it's been done before but this is what I thought about when Saavik was asking Spock why he quit/failed Kolinahr and he was being evasive about his answer in The Pandora Principle.
