Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today I’m sharing another book haul with three paperbacks I’ve been eagerly anticipating. Who They Was was longlisted for the Booker prize last year but I managed to hold out until the paperback release 😂 I’ve heard so many good things about Pew and something keeps drawing me towards it 🤔 Finally, we have Blue Ticket. This one could be potentially be quite triggering as it’s about fertility which I’ve had some personal struggles with. However I often find fiction helps me with things like that as I can dissociate someone else’s story from my own. Plus, I’m planning to buddy read it with the lovely @emmasbookishcorner so that gives me a lot of comfort 🥰 I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors, especially if you’ve read them already. Hello everyone and welcome to the final part of my enormous book haul. Does that mean the hauls are over? Of course not! 🤣🤣🤣 It just means that we’re moving onto the BIRTHDAY book hauls next! Hey, at least I’m getting more up to date now. 😉 The Silent Wife was ordered because I’m a huge Karin Slaughter fan and although I need to catch up on a few of her books, I wanted to make sure this one was ready for me. The Greek Myths and Legends was bought out of pure nostalgia and as I used to study it briefly at school. This was the exact edition we used and it brought back many memories! Finally we have a nonfiction book that looks incredibly powerful with “intimate histories of riotous black girls, troublesome women and queer radicals.” I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors and as it’s quite an eclectic selection, why don’t you let me know what you’ve bought recently? Hello everyone and hope your week is going well? Today it’s part 13 of my enormous book haul and as always, these three beauties I just couldn’t resist! The Yellow House is a nonfiction memoir and described as “a brilliant account of life before and after Hurricane Katrina.” It was also one of Barack Obama’s books of the year. That’s enough for me to want to pick it up! To Be Taught If Fortunate is a stand alone science fiction novella from Becky Chambers. I love her Wayfarers series from what I’ve read so far (still only the first book 😂) so this was a must buy. Finally, I was reminded about Jamrach’s Menagerie a while ago as being one of my favourite books. I hadn’t thought about it for a while and when I did, I realised I only had a copy on my Kindle. A hard copy for my favourites shelves was absolutely necessary! 😜 I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors. Monday is book haul day!! Hello everyone and hope your week started well wherever you are in the world. Today I’m showcasing three paperbacks I’ve bought or been gifted. The Hiding Game was sent to me in a @wearereposed book box which was a gift from my dear friend @keeperofpages I’ve read Mrs Hemingway by the same author and loved it so I’m looking forward to this! I Am Not Your Baby Mother was an essential pre-order for me after I heard Candice Braithwaite speak at two different events. I might not be reading it for a little while due to personal reasons but it’s on my shelves for when I’m stronger. Finally we have Exciting Times. I pre-ordered the paperback but am now cursing myself for not shelling out on the special edition hardback with the spredges. 🙄 I’m still looking forward to reading it though 😂 and it’s also recently been long listed for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Monday is book haul day!! Loving my new bunch of paperbacks and very excited to get to all of them. I’ve heard wonderful things about Swimming In The Dark and The Mermaid Of Black Conch just won the overall Costa book prize so that’s acclaim enough for me! Finally, I’ve had my eye on Everything Under for a little while. I’ll probably head to Sisters first but happy to have this on my backlist. Plus I know it’s really shallow, but that cover is just gorgeous! If you’ve read or want to read any of these books, I’d love to know. I know I said Monday’s were book haul day but can I claim Thursday’s as well?? 😜😂 These are three books I’ve been eyeing up for a while. Coming Up For Air looks like a wonderful historical novel and I’m really in the mood for historical fiction recently 🤔 How To Argue With A Racist is essential reading for my continued education into how to be a good ally and fight racism. Finally, Sour Heart is a short story collection that I’ve heard really intriguing things about! Another small haul but I’d love to know your opinions on any of these books. Hello everyone this is turning out to be a regular occurrence now - boom haul Monday! 😂 I’ve been really looking forward to these three paperbacks. Louise O’Neill is one of my favourite authors and I really need to catch up on her books.
