Along the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail is the Woodlawn Historic District. On the Woodlawn property, a wedding present from George and Martha Washington to her granddaughter and his nephew, is a strikingly modern home also preserved on the site.⠀ ⠀ The Pope-Leighey House, designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1930, is one of the 100 Usonian homes he built as modest, middle class residences. If I had a favorite mountain, it would have to be Chief Mountain on the northern border of Glacier National Park. For some reason, I've always been drawn to it, even before I became a park nerd.⠀ ⠀ Interestingly, for as much as I had researched that trip, I totally forgot that Chief Mountain was in Glacie.
