Seeing Foghat in concert
First of all I only have their first album and apart from that I only know like 2 songs by them and this was a day prior decision to go to this show and I cam DIRECTLY from work at the LAST SECOND to go to this thing. Because I don't listen to them really there's not much to say and this wasn't a huge endeavor like it normally is, also I didn't study
I got there at EXACTLY 7:55, like RIGHT when the announcer started speaking
I SOMEHOW STILL WAS RIGHT AT THE BARRIER
the Pat Travers Band opened and I feel like I've heard the name but I didn't recognize a single song by them
despite this they were hella and I was boppin right in front of Pat Travers the whole time
I was DEFINITELY the youngest person there, as in there weren't even kids/infants dragged there
obviously there were loud boomers in the pit with me
so Pat Travers has this song called Snorting Whiskey and it was the last song he played i think but up until that point this one fuckin old guy kept shouting for him to play it and making this HORRIBLE SNORTING NOISE EVERY GODDAMN TIME
Pat: "who remembers the days of going to the record store and buying albums? who remembers the days of LIVE albums? who remembers the days of going into your room and locking the door and lighting some incense to cover up the smell of whatever else you may have been lighting from your parents and putting on your headphones and closing your eyes and getting lost in a live album?"
at the end of the set, Pat was about to throw his pick, but then reached down to me and gently placed it in my hand and winked at me ;-; <3
I was like tHANK YOU ;O;
during the break between acts I went to the bar and found my coworker and he bought my drink ;-;
someone shouted FREE BIRD right before Foghat walked onstage
I was right in front of their bassist and he gave me a pick too ;-; <3
idk who their singer is but DAAYYUMMM
they played Play That Funky Music bc apparently their guitarist used to be in Wild Cherry?
"this guy (guitarist) has a colorful history. he used to have HUGE afro, the big bellbottoms, and HUGE jacket back in the day"
it was a funky funk funk night
I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists I hate people who shout at crew members for setlists
