What did you think of ghost game's ending? (Thank you for gifing episodes btw!)

idk if it will make sense....but kinda like eating real tamarind for the first time. Like at first, it's sweet and everything you expect...then it's like...pikachu face O_o anyways, I'll go into further details below the cut: *SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT*

I loved the first 15 minutes. It was sweet and heartwarming and epic. Hiro knowing Gammamon well enough to know it was Gulus faking it was the perfect representation of how strong their relationship (and by extension, our relationship with Gammamon) has become. I loved Siriusmon punching Regulus (LIKE HELLS YEAH IT'S NOT DIGIMON WITHOUT A GOOD PUNCH), and all of Gamamon's evo just wailing on Regulus, and even Hiro swinging Sirius' sword. I was living the good life.

The last half seemed really rushed, like literally rushed. I could have sworn it was animated at 1.5x speed. I still don't think I fully understood it. There was so much coming at us from seemingly nowhere. I was still trying to understand Quantumon when Gulus dumped all his exposition that tbh should have been weaved in and out of the series throughout instead of having it condensed into a half-monologue in the last ten minutes of a 67-episode series.

My initial reaction after watching the ep was perhaps it should have been broken into two episodes. The first focusing on the resolution between Gulus/Gammamon/Hiro, and the second half can be about aliens and armageddon in 2000 years. But...now that I've slept on it, I think I would have been happy if they cut out all of the alien stuff and just focus on the conflict between Gulus/Gammamon and maybe Gulus/Gammamon coming to some sort of a peaceful term with Hiro facilitating the process. It would have been more in line all the conflicts presented in the first 66 episodes.

Despite all that, I still enjoyed Ghost Game a lot. It was fresh and exciting, and at times, truly creepy and gave me goosebumps. My preference is for a plot-driven, character-based story, but I it doesn't mean I can't like a serial episodic format, and I really loved how they did Ghost Game. So....in conclusion, I liked gg and will miss seeing everyone a lot :3

tl;dr: the last ep was confusing, but overall, I still liked the series.

Yeah, for sure. I'll be more careful about tagging spoilers in the future. But my only disclaimer is I'll only be tagging content related to plot and characters (i.e. evolution sequences), but since a lot of my gg posts are "general Gammamon being cute" scenes, I'm not sure if it would count as spoilers?

Is an anxious mess only because of all the pressure from everyone around him. He feels he has to achieve to live up to his status as boy genius, but is actually pretty chill with things he knows he's not good at, because then he can relax and not try so hard. It's why he secretly goes flamenco dancing every Friday.

Growing up, he loved going to the aquarium, just so he can stand in front of the jellyfish tanks and watch them glow and swim for hours. He honestly wishes he could be as carefree as them. It's why he grew so easily attached to Jellymon, it just reminds him of the aquariums he loved so much.

Every night, Jellymon stops by and pulls the blanket over Kiyo and makes sure he's sleeping well. She does this every night, even during her "long absences". Jellymon doesn't say a thing, but Kiyo knows it's Jellymon and eventually starts leaving her favourite snacks out on the balcony for her. Again, neither of them say a thing, it's a silent understanding that they care for one another despite their unorthodox interactions :P

I had a very similar Digimon experience. Digimon was my favourite everything growing up, then I lost interest as I grew older. Thanks to pandemic lockdown, I got back into it again, after a Digimon tri and Kizuna watch marathon, and now, I'm back to loving everything Digimon!

If you are interested in getting back into Digimon again, I recommend rewatching the season you loved as a kid. So if your favourite season was Adventure growing up, I recommend rewatching the series! I recently did it and had an amazing time falling in love with all the characters again. I was worried that the rewatch would ruin my perception of Digimon, but on the contrary, it reminded me of how much I loved the series, and all the reasons why I loved Digimon as a kid! If you do plan on rewatching the series, I encourage you to watch it with original Japanese audio + sub. That's what I did, and I thought it added an authentic layer that I very much appreciated

Anyways, I hope that helps! Now on to the question:

Question 1: What is your favorite season?

It's no secret that my favourite season is the OG Adventure 1999. Yes, sure, I think nostalgia plays a big role, but in rewatching the series, I maintain that the show did a lot of things right. The way they explored coming-of-age themes was surprisingly complex, but in a simplistic way (if that makes any sense). And of course, the writers added such depths to each of the Chosen, it's not a surprise that so many of us are still in love with these characters after 20+ years. Every second, every interaction between characters were utilized to its full degree, and that's what makes Digimon such an underrated show to me. I do wish more people would recognize Digimon for all its achievement, and not equate it as a "Pokemon wannabe knockoff", but that's just me.
