► New Song: "Venture (Album Version)"
Song 5 of 8 from my debut album "I Would Like to Introduce" --> Watch the associated music visualizer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ccWqkch7yM ► You can listen to the album in these places: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daymusik/i-would-like-to-introduce-2
🐾 Gee! A lot can be said about this song, actually. However, the description was too long for YouTube so I'm going to paraphrase this paragraph: I was messing around with the harpsichord patch in FL Studio's Morphine plugin and ended up playing what you hear here myself without any piano training. There's sheet music of that part if you want it, but I'll have to figure out how to share it with everyone first. 🐾 Huh, well, that paragraph was longer than expected. Well, moving swiftly on, there are a couple of quotes in this song. One quote is by Vance Havner. "The vision must be followed by the venture. It's not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs." I think the title "Venture" came first and then I searched for quotes containing profounded statements about ventures and found this one. I don't know nor remember who Vance Havner is (or if I even spelled it correctly but it's late and I'm too lazy to look it up). The other quote, if you are not aware, is from Shia LaBeouf. It has been a few years now since his motivational video was uploaded and memed. "Just Do It" was a motivational video Shia uploaded onto YouTube and, though motivational, many people took the power behind his declaration of "just do it" and used it as the basis of many, many memes. I, for one, really admired the message being portrayed in it and wanted to include another motivational quote in this song. However, I felt no one would take it seriously if I included the particularly "meme-y" quotes and purposefully left those out, and instead supplemented with portions of his speech that... I felt resonated with me. Honestly, this song means a lot to me. As someone who struggles with inspiration and support for my musical career, I always think back to this song and think it wrong to give up after having made such an evocative stance against it. 🐾 Now, one final point. If anyone is even reading this, I will TRY to make it quick. I am still making these videos with FL Studio's ZGameEditor Visualizer (as you can see at the bottom of this description), and while it's nice to have the ability to sync various effects to specific parts of the music, some basic effects -- like the fading text effect that I called "ghost text" -- end up being much more complicated than they need to be. This video project ended up much more messy than I would have anticipated simply because I wanted to make it look nicer. When the ghost texts appear duing the "Stop. Giving. Up," part, you would think it's, like, a single text layer that I'm fading in and out and scaling, but because there is no such thing as a "simple text layer" (well, there is, but both options are horrible, which is why I started using "HUD Text" instead), the text layers don't have a scale effect, just font size, so I have to process them as their own video output and input them into an image layer (I use "HUD Image") and then scale it that way, and the text layer doesn't actually contain any text in it; the text is stored elsewhere and you access it by changing/automating the "Text Line" effect to correspond with the line the text is on where it is stored, making the speech-follow text effect I use much more intricate because I need to copy and paste each position the text line is in (which is why I gave up after the first quote, because if I don't add it to the text page, I can't have it as a text effect, but then if I decide to add in the specific text (like when he only says "step up the stairs", that's part of the full line and not on its own instances) then it changes the positions of each text line and I have to reposition the automation points individually). Oh... well, so much for a quick section. Just... I hope you enjoy the effort and detail I put into these videos because I sacrifice a lot by not using an actual video editor for these videos just so I can use one WITHIN FL Studio that allows me to sync parameters to individual instruments and sounds in the music.

Medium: Blender 4.0 Media: 3D Digital Sculpt Subject: A set of pawpads Theme: A 3D digital recreation of an original paw design I created previously.
Description:
I know I haven't been active recently. This may sound counterintuitive, but I've been feeling very unmotivated. I'm usually either making music, playing video games, sometimes drawing, sometimes reading — I try to keep myself busy through many different means. Nothing has been inspiring me lately. So, I used this lack of inspiration to inspire me to learn 3D modeling in Blender again. I told you, the reasoning is a bit weird.
If you look through my uploads, you'll (probably) find the result of what was my first attempt using Blender. Back then, I didn't know what I was doing. Literally. I decided to go in blind using this new, daunting program and, while I managed to create something, it was so frustrating that I did not go back to it until now. This time, being so unmotivated, I decided to actually sit down and learn the basics of how to use Blender, I watched many tutorials specifically about whatever I needed help with... and, unsurprisingly, things went far better than before!
After MANY different iterations, here's likely the final result of all of those tests I was experimenting with in just dipping my little toe beans back into Blender again after two years.

► New Song: "(Bonus) Nevada Nights"
Song 8 of 8 from my debut album "I Would Like to Introduce" --> Watch the associated music visualizer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Axgp3jUU98 ► You can listen to the album in these places: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daymusik/i-would-like-to-introduce-2
🐾 Here we are. The end of the album. What do I have to say about "(Bonus) Nevada Nights"? It's a "bonus" song because I made a random song wholly unrelated to anything and decided to tack it onto this album! 😺 Haha! The end! 🐾 Well, more or less. So. This song started off a just the one piano loop. I wanted to write a piano piece. This song started out with me wanting to write a piano-only piece. I wrote the one cadence and it just flowed perfectly. Yes, when I said "loop", I didn't mean that it's a loop a downloaded from wherever. I recorded MIDI input of me playing my keyboard for two bars, and that was the only pattern I created. This song is pretty much just the same loop throughout the entire song, with only one variation with the octaves doubled up in both ways. The pattern just had a the perfect cadence that I did not know what to do with it for a while now. (I don't know if I put it anywhere, but I recorded a spoken-word version of when it was just the piano and soft lead (that I also created, using Serum) of me reading one of my haiku poems I'd written down. It was a silly thing and I don't remember if I uploaded it anywhere, but that's how clueless I was to what I could do with this song 😹) After lying dormant for a little bit, I think this version of the song came about when I was messing with the 808 presets in FL Studio's FLEX plugin or something. I really don't remember! I just remember that this was 100% not the direction I would have ever considered this song taking and thought it a hilarious addition to the album because no one can ever tell what style of music I will make next... not even me!

► New Song: "You're Not With Me"
Song 7 of 8 from my debut album "I Would Like to Introduce" --> Watch the associated music visualizer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crzU4kanzRc ► You can listen to the album in these places: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daymusik/i-would-like-to-introduce-2
🐾 I hope you're ready for an emotional song, because, golly, did I pour my heart into this song. This song... I mean, there's nothing really to say about this song. Can you catch the subtle nuances, word panting, and other intricacies I've put in this song? If you want to hear my favorite part of this entire song, listen out for the piano playing a pedal tone, that's when an instrument is constantly playing one single not for a duration of a piece. 🐾 When I say I poured my heart into this song, I also should have said "my soul", because I spent the entire day, well, technically, two whole days working on this song. If you recall from the description of one of my previous songs in this album, synchronizing on-screen lyrics to the lyrics as they are being song is one thing, but then to do so word-by-word as they are being sung takes so much more time and effort. But, this time, I had both of those! 😺 The method I choose to add on-screen lyrics to my videos using FL Studio's ZGameEditor Visualizer is simply to automate the "Text Line" parameter in the "HUD Text" to the words being sung. This is simple; but, to do so word-by-word, I have to separate the lyrics, building each line word-by-word to get the effect that it's adding onto the same line. Now, I say, "The method I choose...," because I believe I've noticed some editors in their videos will use a crop effect, having the entire sentence they intend to say already written and then automating the crop out of the way. FL Studio pushes using their Text Line parameter, so that is the method I've learned. However, thinking about the cropping method, I believe I would have to both automate the crop and the text's X position to ensure it always looks organic, and I can see that being inconsistent very easily. But, I don't know, maybe I'll give it a try at some point.

► New Song: "Avenue"
Song 6 of 8 from my debut album "I Would Like to Introduce" --> Watch the associated music visualizer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GtYmbWxYTE ► You can listen to the album in these places: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daymusik/i-would-like-to-introduce-2
🐾 Listen. What can I say? I really enjoy songs that are heavy and intense but then end with a soft piano rendition of the main theme. I think I have a few songs that do that and I am 100% NOT sorry about that because I really like that juxtaposition! Anyway, this song is named "Avenue" because, after a few years in development, the aggressive brostep "growl" bass that you hear during the drop is the culmination of years of experimentation on how to craft, well, such a sound from scratch! This song has been in development for so long that I started working on it before I was ever able to even consider purchasing Xfer's Serum (which I do legitimately own now), so that growl bass is actually made using FL Studio's Sytrus plugin. I believe I started with the "Orbital Bass" preset and just touched a bunch of things to get it to that final sound. Such a feat was so astonishing for me that I decided to record the voice line of me genuinely saying "I never thought I could make something like this," because, well... I still can't believe how good it sounds. 🐾 Oh, right, that doesn't really why it's named "Avenue". So, early on in the song's development is actually when the name came about. I started experimenting with the dubsteppy growl sound and it sounded bad, but it was a start. It was the start to a whole new style of music that, at the time, like I said, I never thought I could create. And, so, it opened up a whole new "avenue" of possibilities for me. The picture I used for this is actually one I took while visiting Death Valley in California. I, uh... was driving, so I couldn't really purposefully get a straight shot, but I really wanted to get a picture of the long, straight road. There was another one on the way to Death Valley that I should have taken a picture of instead because I am almost positive, if you've ever seen a movie where the characters are driving down a long, straight road in the middle of the desert, I am pretty certain that was the road they use.

► New Song: "Expedition"

🐾 I will be honest, writing descriptions for all of these songs is taxing and I'm running out of interesting details to talk about, so, probably until later on, these descriptions will likely be sparse for a while (if you're following the uploading of this album, that is). 🐾 For example, this song: The main focus for this song was the pan flute line that I'd created years ago, back when I was still working on my iPod Touch on Xewton Music Studio because that program had a good pan flute sound. Unfortunately, past the melody, I had no clue what I should do with it, so the melodic line actually went through a few different songs before landing on this, what I can only describe as world music-style song. There's a song on my SoundCloud named "Change" that uses the same melodic line and I believe was made in Music Studio but wasn't as fully developed as this one. "Expedition" was included in this album because it's been through years of development before I could consider it completed. So, here it is. Something completely different from what I would usually do. A "change", if you will.

🐾 I would like to introduce: Me! Daymusik! I mean, I really don't know what I can say about this song. I don't think there is much to say about it. Maybe it's got a bit of that Latin rhythm to it to hint at my Hispanic heritage. This song was also one of the earlier songs I've made in FL Studio, using mostly stock sounds (like that voice lead from FL Studio's Harmor preset), but the Screamer at the end is one I attempted to make myself and one of my earliest attempts at original sound design. 🐾 Aside from that, the only other information I can really provide about this song are the voice clips. The titular "I would like to introduce" is a stock sample from FL Studio, but the "Daymusik" line is actually a recording of me saying "Daymusik" and processed through a vocoder using FL Studio's Vocodex.

► New Song: "Fusion"

🐾 Following the first song of the album — the first song I've ever made — is the first-ish song I've ever made when I switched to FLStudio. It was a while ago and I've already kind of forgotten which one was first, but I'm pretty sure this song was likely the first one I'd tried making in FL Studio. Around that time, I also made a song that I don't quite think I've released yet, at least not on here, as I've been working on making it more and more interesting over the years, naming it a new version for each, I suppose, "era" in which I believe it is finished. 🐾 Anyway, there isn't really much to this song. It's called "Fusion" because of a couple of things. More notably, it tries to fuse a few different styles and vibes, whether they're cohesive styles, I don't know, but, as they are introduced individually throughout the song, in the end, they end up fusing together. Additionally, the main melodic line. Just so that it is the most obvious, the song starts with the simple "1-e, a-2, &-a, e-&-a 4-&" rhythm then changes to a more complicated one (that isn't as easy to convey onomatopoeicly since it is just all sixteenth notes with different pitches with accents on ..-&-..-e-..-3-..&-a 4-&), then, as the music chills before the first thematic transition, you can hear the two melodies combating back and forth until it finally fuses together. Eh, it's probably weird to read it, if anyone is even reading this, so just listen carefully and it should be obvious why it's named that.

► New Song: "For the Stars"
Song 1 of 8 from my debut album "I Would Like to Introduce" --> Watch the associated music visualizer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMwnC4q5EUc ► You can listen to the album in these places: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daymusik/i-would-like-to-introduce-2
🐾 A bold choice to open an album with a slow song, I'm sure, but if people don't like it, that's not my problem. I decided, for my debut album, that I would open it with a modern take of the very first song I ever made. "For the Stars" was a song I made in 2010 during a road trip from Kentucky to Nevada to visit family. As I sat in the backseat of the car (because I was 14 at the time), I looked out at the clear, starry night sky and was just taken by how many stars I could see out in the desert sky. I remember having this feeling, I can't explain it, but I wanted to express it somehow, so I opened up my little ol' iPod Touch, opened my Xewton Music Studio app, and made a pretty similar version of what you hear here, just much, much less developed, of course. I have the original song uploaded somewhere on SoundCloud (but you can't see it right now because I haven't been able to pay for it), and it was also my first full-length song. 🐾 Opening with this song shows that I'm a band kid at heart, while I was never in an orchestra, the use of strings, flute, oboe, clarinet, glockenspiel, and vibraphone instruments (and the strings are individual instances of Edirol Orchestral for Violins, Violas, Celli, and Contrabasses, just one for each, though, as the VST has, like, "Violin ensemble" and whatnot to get a fuller sound) — the use of these instruments is meant to signify my connection to classical music and traditional instrument performance, me being a percussionist myself. Near the end, I have a marching snare drum solo meant to signify my connection with marching band as a percussionist, one year having marched in the drumline, but for the other 4 years, I marched in the front ensemble. Then, of course, the song shifts to a more EDM-style vibe to better represent the style of music I will most likely be making, but with the classical instruments mixed in as there will always be that element of classical and traditional music in what I do.
