It’s been a while (years?) since I’ve done one of these process videos, but I decided to make one for this Dazed and Confused inspired print by @jeffboyes that was released by @galleries1988 and subsequently sold out in the blink of an eye this past weekend. This one was a variant on the original color scheme, done in era-appropriate earthy browns and oranges, in an edition of 76 for the year that the movie takes place. I’m so happy for the success of Jeff’s show and to know that people still have a desire to buy and appreciate art amidst all of the madness in our world right now. Those of you buying art may not realize it, but you are helping not only keep art alive, but also supporting the artists that make it, the printers that print it, and the galleries that show and sell it. As a printer with a home studio and no employees to support, my heart goes out to all of my printer friends who are not able to do their thing right now because of government restrictions and/or distancing measures that make it impossible to conduct safe practices. I am beyond fortunate to take work like this right now, as slow as it may be coming in due to the fearful business climate we live in.
