POV: You agreed to spar with Lae'zel

Arthur&Lae'zel thoughts: Lae'zel is Arthur's best friend. They don't talk much, and when they do it's really mostly about battle strategies. He feels very comfortable being around her because having no memories makes him like a fish out of water, and she makes him feel not so afraid to make awkward social gaffes around her because she also doesn't understand the world she's landed in! (He really really really relates to her when she mispronounced Faerun 🥺) Their friendship becomes really deep when he comes more clean about his urges and she offers to train with him to help him control his urges in battle. Also, because he is someone who lies so much and has such a fractured sense of identity, having a friend who doesn't lie to him, doesn't pay meaningless compliments, and believes in his inner strength and ability to overcome the obstacles he faces is extremely important to him and his journey. She's ultimately the person who stops him from becoming the absolute - he can't bring himself to betray Lae'zel in such a significant way. On the flip side, I think Arthur forces Lae'zel to re-examine her own motivations and convictions. He's a walking liability: he lies constantly, and is not in control of his actions, and is actively seeking dominance of the netherbrain she needs to destroy for githyanki freedom. I like to think the night Arthur tries to kill Astarion at last light, she realizes the Smart and Correct thing for a githyanki warrior to do would be to dispatch of him, but she does not, and it really starts to make her view her relationships with people in a new way.

when i started actually writing i had about 3,000 MS word pages of research organized along chronological chapter lines.

the actual finished product will probably be around ~250 pages

Really admire people with pjsk sekai ocs because my only pjsk oc is a nameless faceless Kamiyama third year npc who is so so studious and constantly hitting the books and trying so hard at school only to constantly score second place to a guy who is deeply unserious, barely studies, is constantly getting into trouble for exploding things on school property, spends most of his time in class bothering his obnoxious friend, and dreams of pursuing a career in the arts. She wants rui dead so bad.

i'm leaving this blog for a long time if not forever. here's why.

i watched over half the dash, people i've been mutuals with for years, fall for horrific antisemitism in the name of attacking someone i love because they used academic language on a deeply reactionary website that doesn't think genocide requires you to use your brain when thinking about how to stop it.

i watched the word "zionist" get thrown at someone who isn't one in the slightest so many times the definition crumbled until people were using it to mean "i have decided you are evil in a jewish way". i saw them slandered with blatantly antisemitic conspiracy theories saying their family owns property in israel when they don't. i saw people i trusted fall for it and parrot those same theories with no evidence when fact-checking would have taken five? ten minutes? because that's how quick and eager people are to believe in an evil jew.

i used to love this place, this was the place for all of my teenage years and into my early 20s. i'm not deleting my blog, all of my posts will stay up, but i can't look at many of you the same ever again. it will never not make me sick to my stomach.

to everyone who kept their head on their shoulders and/or sent messages of love, concern, and kindness, thank you. your sanity over the last few days has made me feel more sane. for everyone else, i have nothing left to say.

everyone has their kinks, some more extreme than others, but its completely fine and ok. people who hate and kink shame gross me the fuck out.

if you ever feel comfortable in posting, as long as you tag it properly (example. putting ‘piss kink’ in the warnings), you should be fine cos people who aren’t into it will know not to read it. hopefully. cos some like to run their mouths just to hate, but an easy block can fix that.
