It's that BAW time of the year! The past month was a marathon to get it built. This next week will be alot of processing from what happened this past week. The arts are a way for us to come together as community and connect. This is what my front porch and living room are looking like while I build the 27 ft peace sign for #Boulderartsweek. The life of an artist without a proper work space keeps things interesting. Can't stop won't stop at least until this body gives out and I release my final breath to dance out beyond what is this material realm. I'm starting to plan out an art project that will be a 27 ft. diameter sculpture of a peace sign that is placed downtown Boulder in the park near the bandshell. I will be consulting a friend that's a professional sculptor on best practices to bring this creation to life. A view into my world.⁣ ⁣ Sometimes I'm amazed at how much I can accomplish when this picture of my writing desk is kind of what it feels like to be inside me. Bursting over with ideas to be put into action and constantly working on multiple projects. It gets cleaned up then piles up again, almost as if it has a life of it's own. This was in a notebook filled many years ago. Feels about right for where things are at in the world. I've always known our systems would crack as there foundation was extraction by exploitation. Out of the cracks shall reach solutions that have been hiding under concrete jungles waiting for some light. Solutions for tomorrow start at the bottom and filter to the top. It's a trickle up way of working support the base and the top shall be able to stand for ages. ⁣ ⁣ Really exciting to see Minneapolis come up with alternatives to the police state. The future of the planet doesn't require the state to have armed patrols protecting the status quo. As I step deeper into the work of getting my voice as an artist to the world at large I must shed old patterns that no longer serve me. My art is poetry and it's my goal to be able to share it in person across the globe to help inspire others to find their passion. Part of my mission is to support work that's larger then myself as an artist. How do I know I'm on the right path? Spirit always shows me very clearly. After a year of using a speaker stand as a makeshift tripod I decided I needed to get a real one. Bought one yesterday from Best Buy. Got the one that would suit my needs and when I got home and looked at their symbol it was a peace sign! This my equivalent to a guitar. With it I shred the destructive mythos of our separation from nature to help us remember our divine role as a creative being. It doesn't have to look like traditional art but can be anything. Creativity is going to be the driving force that creates tomorrow. We need to envision a new world for the one we're inheriting is deeply flawed and will only lead to our destruction. But it need not be. Let's all dream in a better tomorrow togehter.
