Thoughts on episode 5

- rick had to be so patient when we were all complaining about the fates

- im weirdly bothered by the fact that percy can be wet. I dont know why this particular detail bothers me

- i wish we saw the kids eat. Im worried about them.

- what is love sent me

- percys comments about what is love made me feel 1000 years old

- this episode reminds me of how many different versions of the myths there are because i was always told Aphrodite married Hephaestus because he made her a sick ass belt

- Hephaestus is cool but it just reminded me about how i need this show to have 6 seasons minimum so we get Leo

- I completely forgot they ride to vegas in a cattle truck that’s hilarious

- “i know who took the bolt” i dont even know who youre thinking did it but honey no you dont

the way the show isn't just emphasizing why percy feels a connection with annabeth but also digging deeper into why annabeth feels a connection with percy in a way that the books only started rlly getting into in TBOTL and TLO, and it was still percy centric bc it was his pov. like i love how much more of annabeth's perspective on percy and the gods we're getting here

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR PERCY JACKSON EPISODE 5

This is a pretty morbid thought but do you think that with the way Percy had been breathing after being freed…that he was still alive under all gold? Like alive as in alive and conscious and aware of time?

Because to me it looked a little like he was running out of air and finally got a chance to breathe after he was freed.

So like. Do you think maybe that if Annabeth had done as he’d asked and gone and completed the quest and come back for him…that after freeing him she’d find out he’d died at the ripe old age of 12? From suffocating under a thin, impenetrable layer of gold under the impression that his friends would come to save him later with the dawning and quickly approaching realisation that they’d never get the chance because he’d be dead before they even got to LA? That he was going to run out of air silent and alone and never see his mom or Annabeth and Grover again?

Because I think about that a lot. And how Annabeth would feel knowing her friend sacrificed himself to save her (again) and how Grover would feel knowing that the boy he was assigned to protect, his best friend, died alone and encased while he sat there chit-chatting with Ares and maybe, just maybe if he’d been there it might not have happened
