smth about blaze and shadow is that they're also narrative foils to each other
while they're both high gem nobility (with shadow being the highest social class because he's a diamond) blaze holds on to her social standing because she was taught that was the most important thing she has while shadow actively shuns and rebels against his social standing.
they both carry themselves very highly for different reasons; blaze carries herself high because she was taught that any weakness was bad and in a way where she inadvertently looks down on people, while shadow does so because he's a leader to the other CGs and does so in a way where he's on equal footing with others. blaze actually does start carrying herself to be more like shadow once she breaks away from homeworld, before she realizes it feels much better to just act like how she wants to act.
ough blaze makes me insane in this au
yes..... YESSS.................. ouhhh my GOD

Hi, mutuals old and new!
I was missing the fandom tradition of themed asks, and wanted to send some of my own, tailored specifically after ASDMC.
Needless to say, the fandom shitshow is ongoing, and I am doing this for my and hopefully your enjoyment. Feel free to answer this or just read others' replies, there is absolutely no judgement or pressure to participate!
Anyway, for this ask I was wanted to cast a wide net, so could you tell if you had some predictions for the show that turned up in some interesting way? Maybe a personal wishlist point of yours was fulfilled, or a twist you didn't expect hooked you into the show? Perhaps you're a new fan and now feel the urge to look up the game series, or a veteran who decided to go for that next-difficulty run? Did a track from the OST make you obsessed with a particular band?
These are just the examples, feel free to spin this question however you like
Thanks for the ask! This got long, so I'm placing it under a cut.
I tried to stay away from most of the previews pf the show after the first two trailers, so I was going in without too much show material to guide me. Following the opening's release, biggest prediction was that Baines would either be the White Rabbit or some other demon! There's a cool shot in the opening where Baines' glasses flash to show a demon, as well as some parallels between his glasses and the White Rabbit's eyes (I think they might both be orange in a shot? I'm forgetting now). Given we know demons can look like people, that was my bet. After watching the first few episodes and noticing that Baines' glasses were actually red and that the show kept avoiding showing us his actual eye color by keeping his eyes behind the glasses, I felt pretty confident in my Baines is the White Rabbit hypothesis. They were never in the same scene at the same time, they were both tall, they were both obsessed with Dante...
Then episode... 4? Happened. Whichever one where the White Rabbit shows up to blow things up while Dante's in the van. Now I had an explicit example where both Baines and the White Rabbit were visible at the same time which put a damper on that theory, but I figured that hey, the White Rabbit has Plasma. Maybe he's using Plasma too look like himself while he controls things as Baines, helping secure an alibi. But then Plasma showed up in the scene too and I realized oh. Okay so that theory was wrong. Unless there are two Plasmas, but I didn't think so. Sure enough the show progressed and we got to see that Baines and the White Rabbit were different people. I was kind of disappointed since I thought them being the same would be cool, but I really liked the White Rabbit's backstory so I'm fine with it! I had a ton of fun with my little theorycrafting. I don't always need to be right!
Other things I enjoyed in the show: Dante getting half his head blown up and surviving just fine. I was cheering in my seat when that happened, because it actually aligns really well with some HCs of mine! We know from the games (and cutscenes like the start of 3 where he shrugs off all the scythes to the chest/arms etc) that Dante can get pretty badly beat up and still function perfectly fine, but there's a difference between a blade slicing into you and half of your head being blown off. Who knows if I'll ever write anything with this, but one long held headcanon of mine is that Dante had his spine ripped out at some point. In some fic I eventually want to integrate him laughing about it and the pain it caused to someone else, who finds it disturbing, but I haven't gotten there yet. At any rate, him being able to survive his head getting blown up means he'd probably survive that too.
(Side note, I also have a fic idea I've been playing with for a while about Dante getting his arm blown off during a Mission which greatly upsets Lady (who he protected) until he reveals that the reason he took his coat off and draped it weirdly on his body is that his arm IS regenerating, but layer by layer in a way that means it's still just a massive chunk of bone and bloody flesh/muscle he didn't think Lady would want to look at. This aligns with the way Netflix Dante ended up regenerating too- all your fun red stuff comes back before the skin. So basically this show helped validate some of the stuff I enjoy thinking about!)
A minor thing that I enjoyed was the one guy that went to hunt Danre who knew Dante as a good guy, and how Dante actually remembered both the guy and his kids! I love when writers remember Dante's a decent guy who cares (...when he's put in a situation that makes him care, at least). Especially about kids. He may be lazy at times and he may not go out of his way to look for relationships, but that doesn't mean he treats people badly if they do form one. I don't think Dante would go out of his way to track this guy down on the street and ask him about his kids or anything, but him remembering the guy had kids and asking about them when they were forced together shows Dante cares enough to remember the comment. The show got that part down imo. Decent guy.
The show did get me back in the mood to play the games again too. I did the next two Missions of my current DMC1 run plus went back to attempting to S-rank Mission 12 of DMC5 on DMD mode which is. Uh. Difficult. I still haven't managed it, but I'm pretty rusty. I need to get more consistent! It also has me thinking I really need to play DMC2 before season 2 comes out. Lucia had a 5 second cameo in season 1 and I'd like to think she will appear in season 2, so it would be good to actually play her game rather than just reading wiki articles about it.
I don't have too many predictions for season 2, but that's mostly because the vast majority of my DMC brainpower has been devoted to either writing my own fic, or critiquing season 1. This ask is supposed to be positive and I'll keep it that way, but every piece of media has its ups and downs and I enjoy exploring both sides of that. I will say that ASDMC was a very fun show for me overall! Definitely has a lot of material that has kept me thinking, and that's always a plus.
My main...curiosity for season 2, I suppose, is where Vergil's final allegiance will lie. Is he just biding his time, doing Mundus' bidding until he has the strength to rise against him? Or does he genuinely support Mundus and believe he's right? It could be that Vergil is rescuing demons to gain their loyalty to serve him in a fight against Mundus, or it could be that he's doing it to help Mundus/Hell in general (and also to help the demons who've been captured because they're innocent and saving them is the good thing to do).
I'm also curious to see what will happen with Arkham. We saw his body on the ground in the mansion as it burns, but we didn't get a close up of his corpse in a way that guaranteed he was dead. I want to say we saw the front window of the house explode during the fire too? Which could just be pressure, but I think Arkham escaped. Unless I'm misremembering this, which is possible. I should really watch the show again.
Mary has an arc incoming too. This season was about laying the foundation for her character growth rather than having her complete an arc, and I'm excited to see where that goes. The seeds of doubt have been sown; it's only a matter of time before they sprout.
Lieutenant Mary Arkham to me feels like somewhat of a different character than Lady DMC (for now! They're at different stages of their development). They definitely have the same origin and share base character traits, but they've diverged significantly in a way that has me not really wanting to refer to Netflix Mary as Lady quite yet. Don't get me wrong: I enjoyed Mary's character! But for different reasons than I enjoyed Lady's character. Which is the crux of my opinion on the show, I think. I enjoyed ASDMC a lot, but not necessarily for the reasons I enjoy the rest of DMC. It stands on its own and that's just fine!
Back to Mary, I think she's a good example of someone who's really drank the kool-aid and fallen into indoctrination. Killing demons and believing them unforgivable has been the core of her life for years. If she's wrong about that, who does that make her? *What* does that make her? A monster? Acknowledging that demons can be innocent means she killed innocent creatures. Accepting that demons can be just as good as humans means accepting the fact that she ended the lives of those who did not deserve to die. She's not some uninvolved bystander; she's been hunting and killing demons for an age. Changing her worldview means not just admitting she thought wrong, but that she *did* wrong. And so she can't be wrong. Because where would that put her? What horrible things would she have to acknowledge and admit to? That's a really hard thing to do.
Of course, we *do* see her try to break free of it when given enough evidence, such as when the family of demons save her and she directs DARKCOM not to kill the rest, and that's what I'd call the foundation of her character growth. The first few bricks have been lain. But when Baines comes in to have the demons killed and wants Dante captured, he kicks over the bricks and offers Mary a way out of her guilty conscience by reaffirming her previous beliefs that demons are dangerous and helping DARKCOM is about saving humanity, and she finds herself accepting. I would say that the guilt in her expression when she knocks Dante out that final time reveals that the foundation is still there, even if the bricks are gone. You may not see the house on the surface, but the concrete has been poured and that cannot be undone.
Basically, saying demons can be good and freeing Dante would be accepting the fact that Mary has been a bad person, which is a very hard thing to do, and I think it's reasonable for her to end up falling back into her old habits. It's human.
Am I excusing her aiding in Dante's torture and putting her weight back in with the oppressor (Baines, in this world)? No. That's not good. People who don't deserve it have been and will be hurt. Threats by the opressor do not *excuse* aiding the oppressor, even if they do *explain* it.
But Mary doing that doesn't make her a *badly written character* IMO. It doesn't make her a good *person*, but it's not bad *writing*. I would argue it's good writing! She's been indoctrinated and is looking for a way out of her guilty conscience! It makes sense she would seek out a way to alleviate that! I want to see her grow out of this devotion to Baines and reliance on looking to other people for affirmation that she's a good person/doing the right thing (which she is not), but for now I think it's a fine place for her character to be. Her arc has started, not concluded. She has places to go.
Lieutenant Mary Arkham is not Lady. Not yet. She can get there, but she's not there at the moment. I'm really looking forward to when she *does* get there. Like I said, the foundation for growth has been poured. A few bricks were placed and knocked over, but the foundation is there and I'm sure she can start rebuilding sooner or later.
This got really long so I'll cut myself off for now, but thanks again for the ask! This was a lot of fun to think about. I really do need to re-watch season 1; I did long analysis posts for episodes 1 through 3, but after that I got impatient and decided to just watch the rest so my memory of those isn't as strong. A re-watch would do me good, I think. I'm definitely excited for season 2!

Hi do you think you do the 4 lords reaction to finding out their GN s/o has a shadow demon that goes wherever they go and some time find the 2 of them playing board games
Hiii!! okay important note here! i decided to go a little off topic (sorry) for the purpose of a part 2 where the lord’s s/o will be an angel!! of course still gender neutral and there will be a shadow demon but the s/o will be a demon that hasn’t fully formed yet!
i’ve been really uninspired lately so this probably isn’t my best! i apologise :((
Devil or Angel? Pt.1
General HC’s
It was strange how quickly your life had changed. One morning you were just a normal villager in some godforsaken town in the middle of nowhere Romania and the next day you woke up from the cold dirty ground with a pair of huge dark wings and sharp nails.
You had been exploring some of the woodlands surrounding the village, looking for a water source which was running low when a dark figure came barrelling towards you. It felt like hours, when really it was only a few seconds of sharp searing pain. Maybe it was a bad idea to leave the village alone.
You didn’t die however, or maybe you did? You weren’t quite sure what was happening to your body. All you knew was it must have been something supernatural to make the huge black wings appear.
“Looks like you finally woke up! Do you know how fucking boring it is just waiting for you to wake up?”
You screamed in terror at the large demonic creature floating above you. It was surrounded by a cloud of black mist with red eyes that pierced through its silhouette. It had a large wicked smile aligned with sharp teeth and a set of wings that matched your own.
Behind those eyes was something much more human however, in fact it looked rather bored.
“Who, or what are you?! And mind that language!”
The creature only laughed at you, amused by the whole situation which bothered you beyond compare.
“Well I’m a demon, if I didn’t swear you’d probably think me an angel with these playful charms I posses! And to be more specific I’m your demon, it seems you fell prey to one of the other demons condemned to this world it’s quite the tragedy really.”
You were shocked at just how easily this creature, this demon talked to you. As if it was a completely normal morning and life in the village had not changed at all.
“Oh don’t act so shocked, you medieval villagers have been worshiping my kind for a lot longer than that Mother Miranda. You’re one of us now!”
Surprisingly over time the creature, who’d you’d nicknamed “red” for their glowing eyes, was slowly growing on you. You might even call them a friend.
Sure Red was cocky as all hell and didn’t hesitate to cause trouble amongst the village but they became very protective over you and showed you the ropes on life as a demon.
Life can get kinda boring when you’re practically immortal and so you and red pass the time playing old Romanian board games and solitaire. When village life got really boring you even stooped so low to play go fish together.
A lot of the time you cause mischief in and around the village while Red was practically the devil on your shoulder, egging you on to stir the pot. The lycans were particularly enjoyable to taunt.
Regardless of everything, you couldn’t see yourself without Red and to lose them would crush you. There had been one too many nights when you’d chat about everything and nothing until you fell asleep curled up underneath your wings.
That was when you felt a protective wing curl around you, one that wasn’t your own.
“Always gotta fall asleep on me don’t you, huh? Don’t worry, I’ll have you partying all night before you know it kiddo.”
Alcina Dimitrescu
It started out as a stupid dare when Red dared you to sneak into Castle Dimitrescu and steal the Lady’s lipstick after hearing the village gossip that it was expensive.
You did not expect however to get caught in the hallway, starting straight up into the eyes of Alcina Dimitrescu, a stuttering and blushing mess. It was something that Red would tease you for until eternity ended.
After winning her favour, both you and Red were invited to stay in the Castle with Alcina and her daughters. She thought you were much better company than her brother and her affluent but gothic lifestyle totally appealed to you.
As it turns out you and Alcina had a lot more in common, both being creatures of a supernatural nature. You enjoyed the lazy afternoons curled up on the couch, a glass of maidens blood in your hand as she gentle stroked the back of her hand against your wings.
You had the finest outfits that matched your black wings perfectly and everything was tailor made so you were comfortable.
Red taught you how to fly so you were able to use your wings to be at eye level with Alcina which was perfect for hugs and kisses.
It turns out that Red is a great babysitter for the girls and keeps them entertained with hunting maidens and chasing them around the Castle while you and Alcina can spend some time together.
Donna Beneveinto
At first, Donna is truly scared of you and Red much like how you were in the beginning. But eventually, with the help of Angie she saw that you were not going to harm her.
You loved to spend time with Donna and watch her make her dolls or sew her dresses. Sometimes Red will come back with Angie from a day of causing trouble to find you reading to her another encyclopaedia of plants. Her head is resting on your chest and your wings are wrapped around her protectively while you read.
Your favourite thing to do together is to take Donna into your arms and fly to the top of the mountain where the waterfall begins and watch the sunset together. She’ll always have a deathly grip on your hand the whole time even though you’ve reassured her that you’d never drop her.
One time when you leaned in and gave her a kiss, a rather loud noise was heard from the corner and interrupted you.
“EWWW you guys are too cute!! All that lovey-dovey stuff makes me sick!”
Red is standing to the side with Angie on their shoulder who is sitting there making her own dramatic faces. One of Angie’s wooden hands covers Red’s eyes while the other is held on her forehead as if the kiss was enough to kill her.
Besides from their comment both Angie and Red act like your wing man for your relationship with Donna. They absolutely love you two together and have set up many dates for the two of you.
Salvatore Moreau
You meet Salvatore Moreau one day when you’re at the reservoir playing hide and seek in the near by mines with Red.
As it’s your turn to hide you end up ducking between some planks to find a tv set up and a small couch. Sitting in the middle of it happens to be someone you now know as Sal.
He thought you were going to kill him at first, hiding his face in his hands but very slowly after some months he saw that you weren’t a threat.
Over this time trying to convince Sal that you weren’t going to hurt him and trying to spend more time with him, Red took the opportunity to tease you for your crush.
“I think someone’s in got a little crush hmm??”
Eventually you become very close with Sal and the two of you will playfully chase each other at the reservoir. Sal will swim just below the surface while you fly just above it and your fingers brush together just where the water meets the air.
One time when you were chasing Red around the rooftops of the old village, you slipped and fell into the water, something that your large feathery wings did not enjoy and Red had to pull you out.
You ended up bundled on the couch with Sal, a bunch of blankets around you as your wings dried out. It took forever and you ended up a giant bundle of fluffy feathers but Sal thought you looked adorable.
Karl Heisenberg
Karl caught you and Red taunting the lycans when he went to check on them at their den one day. At the site of you two he raised an eyebrow and proceeded to light a cigar.
“I think you two may be lost, don’t you know it’s dangerous out here?”
You can hear the sarcasm in his voice and you spread your wings out to be intimidating, Red’s black mist behind you adding to it.
“Indeed it is very dangerous out here, I’d hate for you to get hurt.”
It was then when the three of you burst into a fit of laughter knowing that you were the strongest creatures in these woods and nothing could really hurt either of you.
Both you and Karl had a mischievous side and spent a lot of time causing trouble for his sister in her Castle.
It was fun to spend time with Karl and you both grew rather close. He even trusted you enough to let you help him on some of his plans and designs.
Red was particularly fond of the idea of killing Mother Miranda.
“Ooh when she’s gone can I have my picture put back up?! Pretty please!”
Karl designed his soldats with a red glowing chest plate that reminded him of your red glowing eyes which now matched Red’s.
While Karl will deny it forever, he’s completely in awe of you and finds you absolutely breathtaking. He can’t get over how soft your wings are and always cuddles up to you complaining that it’s cold even though it’s sweltering hot in the factory.
One day Karl took you by surprise and kissed you gently but with a degree of confidence which took him months to find. You melted into him and wrapped your arms around him securely, completely forgetting Red who’s hovering in the room.
“Guys I hate to break it to you but I’m kinda third wheeling here…”
Needless to say, Red third wheeled a lot and ended up befriend Sturm as an alternative to watching you guys make out.

As a female I get tired of seeing psa post about /It's important to treat female muses with respect/ or /Female muses deserve better treatment!!/ it's this constant thing I get slapped in the face by mutuals who reblogs that once in a blue moon, but ignore male muses or treat them like shit. I'm sorry to come off as sexist, I wish people would look out for male muses too and those who are gay since they get the short end of the stick and not appreciated. Don't get me wrong it's important to respect all muses regardless of their gender, but these post are coming off as quite feminist and Tumblr is known for being a man hater. I feel really bad for saying all of this.. I'm sorry for this rant, RPbetter. I just need to let it off my chest.
It's all good, Anon! I did tell y'all you could do exactly this!
I know, as in, I can actually feel the hackles of the RPC rising preemptively, this is going to rub people the very, very wrong way...so, I'm asking you to at least try to put that on hold and consider some things about this as a different view from what you've experienced before you get angry with Anon or myself.
Because I think the issue with this, and all PSA's that are especially full of delineation like these are, is that it isn't going to be everyone's experience in the RPC.
We tend to feel like the RPC is our little corner, or for some of you, vast empire. Sometimes, an overlap of both - our little area we have cultivated with our mutuals, our preferred resource blogs, all the blogs that branch off from us and the larger RPC specific fandom community we're a part of. I mean, I know my fandom is huge, my highly cultivated homestead within it is tiny.
I also interact with people from equally huge RPC fandoms. So, between the two, I see some major differences. The differences in some of the minuscule RPC corners I have people in can be even more extreme.
Example?
I have a mutual who is open to crossovers and spends time in three bigger fandoms with their muse. The muse is highly desirable in the fandom they come from, had no issue adapting and being desirable in the second big one, but in the third, it was quite different. Same approach that worked out wonderfully everywhere else did not work in this third fandom because the muse...is female in a male and gay ship predominant fandom. So, while this mutual never experienced trouble getting/keeping interaction and respectful treatment of their muse/themselves everywhere else, they suddenly got slapped with it there. It's often a problem of specific fandoms and their material.
Another example?
Myself.
My main muse is everything that the more hateful PSA's of this sort say is the desirable muse that unfairly gets all the attention and respect: extremely well-known main character, conventionally attractive, male, white, young, and the way he presents in canon, you can play with HCs about him being not being cishet pretty easily. Highly shippable muse that can be made even more so without messing with canon much, if at all.
So, you'd think that I would never have any trouble getting interactions, ships that I want, plots I want, and good treatment of my muse (I mean by other muns, other muns not being total assholes about my muse, what happens between muses, when it isn't directly due to the mun's attitude, is different), right? I don't.
Don't get me wrong, I have the interactions I want, they're perfect. I have the writing partners I always wanted, the best ships, stunning plots, but that's entirely because I am OC and crossover friendly. I'm open to accepting writing partners based purely on the writing. My own fandom does not like my muse, outside of one specific version anyway, the canon ship is not supported, the popular fanon ship is likely to get you a callout in the RPC.
In my fandom, the female muses do get more respect and attention for the most part. It's one of those fandoms pretty into...well, fandom as an act of activism. That's not to say, before anyone loses it on me, that creating or picking up a female muse is doing it for woke points. Just that there is a rather open prerogative in my fandom to create/choose muses based on the idea of "representation" and "fixing canon." If you have one that is like mine, you're automatically assumed to be a lot of really shitty things. Getting called a school shooter, love that for me.
The whole "respect female muses or die" take isn't necessary there, it's the take. Doesn't stop it from coming around weekly, though, so I do feel you on this, Anon.
Furthermore, I'd personally prefer it if we'd all consider getting back to the take of just respecting muse choices and writing, period. People are always going to have preferences, in one place it might align with your own, in another it doesn't. That's perfectly alright and does not mean anything horrible about those people unless they're actively being horrible with it!
Preferring female muses doesn't mean you're a radfem, preferring (or just having even one) a f/m ship does not mean this or that you're homophobic either, nor does it make a bi/pan muse suddenly heterosexual and "bad representation/you're just saying they're bi and that's gross." Just means those are the ships that developed.
Preferring male muses doesn't mean you're "part of the problem" or "taking the easy way," and having or preferring a queer ship does not mean you're a "nasty fujoshi." It also doesn't invalidate what someone has established about their muse's sexuality, a bi/pan muse isn't Gay Now because their primary ship is m/m.
And that's to say nothing of how weird, and often at least mildly offensive, all of this is to both muns and muses that are not on the gender binary. You should probably consider that before you keep implying to a mun that the muse they've established as not cis is exactly that.
Or, that writing a female muse might be impossible for some muns for more reasons than just preference, a thing that is valid enough on its own. A decent number of muns in the RPC are also not cis, this may be the only safe place for them to drop being gendered as they were assigned at birth, it might even trigger dysphoria for them to write a female muse. I know that I am incredibly uncomfortable writing female muses. It's a little ridiculous to keep dropping the implication to outright demand that everyone needs to do their part in filling the female muse quota in the RPC or they're misogynists and/or phobes.
My experience, and I am not alone in it, has been getting plenty of shit for having male muses only, always assumed to be cisgender and often heterosexual. Plenty of shit for not writing the canon as cishet, too...and plenty more for my main ships being with female characters because they're the ones that worked out and stuck around.
No one is lying when they say that there are places where their male muses and queer ships are not looked on positively.
The thing is, I also witness female muses being treated like shit, yes!
And I will say, that treatment is so much worse if the muse is also an OC, has a canon f/m ship they'd like to write or just to write a ship with a canon if they're an OC, or they're certain types of female muses. Because the demands do not stop at being female. You also have to write a Strong Female Character to be of interest, and she had better be available to shipping and smut while not presenting as too sexually open. It's become an impossible obstacle course.
I see it on the dash, I see absolutely valid complaints, and the majority of my friends write female muses. I'm very aware of the problems they've faced, bias against them does exist!
Example of this?
Writing partners who have both male and female muses experiencing, repeatedly, their male muses being picked over the female muses, and their emotionally softer or less sexually available female muses being chosen dead last. The writing is great, these muses are well-done and interesting, easy to interact with, but they'll get told on the blogs for the male muses that they're only interested in them, the other mun having missed that this is the same mun behind both muses.
And it always comes down to wanting to ship m/m. Even when the muse is established as being heterosexual, they'll just keep trying to push it into happening with their male muse. If your male muse is heterosexual, that is like a violent act against the whole RPC.
So, that's also absolutely not a lie either, it does happen, it is a problem. It's valid to be upset about this!
In my opinion and experience, these are both significant problems predicated upon the same, overall issues:
not respecting choices and preferences equally
performative activism in fictional communities
requiring personal information as justification in order to respect choices/preferences as valid and not problematic
not being interested in writing for its own sake and characters for their own sake, but rather, what they say about oneself/in validation and display of one's ideals and/or personhood
not understanding that just because a character is x, y, or z does not, actually, make them interesting or a good character, let alone to everyone
So, I really think the answer here isn't saying that there is a single problem with muse gender across the board, everywhere and without variables, and demanding that people "respect," a thing that actually translates into "you must accept all of x as writing partners no matter your interest in them or viability, as writing partners" all of any one type of muse. I think that's just weirdly pressuring and remaining at a distance from the incredibly simple answer of accepting that people have preferences that do not always benefit you, that you might even find offensive, but that's a right they have.
It's okay if you're not interested in the conventionally attractive, canon male muse, even if someone has HC'ed him as queer. It's okay if you're not interested in the Strong Woman female OC, even if someone has given her other labels of significance. It's okay if you're not interested in someone's well-developed, well-written female OC or canon, someone's male OC or canon, or someone's proudly genderless creature. (Again, don't come at me folks, I literally call myself that, it's a joke based on the way people who do not ascribe to the gender binary can be treated/viewed by others who do, thanks!)
Your likes and dislikes are okay! Even if they're "not inclusive," yes. So long as you're not being a fucking bigot, you're alright. It isn't anyone's job here to be correct the ills of reality in their fiction, let's just all start focusing less on the fine details and more on respecting each other regardless of whether individual preferences benefit us or not.
Forcing people to interact based on guilting or shaming them is the opposite of the answer. Always. And just because it is one extreme in your RPC area does not mean it's like this in everyone else's. I'm genuinely sorry that anyone has experienced negative things based on such ridiculous factors, but please, be sure you're not turning around and doing the same shit to someone else.
Going to repeat:
Forcing people to interact based on guilting or shaming them is the opposite of the answer. Always.
