hi im mildventing about my cat :)

LMAO. lmao because she is totally fine.

tldr, a few weeks ago a semiferal adopted herself at me (i live on a farm). we think she's related to my brother's cats (same age and they live nearby, and those cats also just showed up like 'adopt me hi'. the color genetics also check out because of course i did that math).

her name is lark and she is just the sweetest cat i've ever known, constantly acts like she is late for her 9-5 at the biscuit factory. has a very sweet little half face. stole my heart immediately, obviously. pet tax:

she has been in my bathroom for like four days, because i got her spayed (and she was already early pregnant ://///////// she is four months old. awful horrible). and even getting this to happen was lowkey a nightmare bc she is outdoors and only comes by whenever she feels like it, and we had nowhere to trap her overnight. now we're four days into her recovery and i am. Over It.

she's FINE is the thing. like she does not like the cone but she is not screaming or scrabbling to take it off. she doesnt even mind being inside that much. but mum and dad are both like 'will she be done soon :(' and my brain is just. [Bees].

she is meant to have the cone on for Seven To Fourteen Days and that was never going to happen regardless but like. im trying to leave her for as long as is sensible but even making that decision feels horrendous, because every option sucks, either im torturing this poor animal needlessly in a dark room all day by herself or as soon as i let her outside she'll chew her stitches open and then that will be Worse and i will be the moron who let it happen

(they literally let preganant TNR spays go after 72 hours. like she'd be fine. but anyway)

my routine is in shambles and my body hurts because im in there sitting on the floor with her as much as i can be and she doesnt even really want to hang out with me while im there she just wants to Groom Obsessively, during which i have to keep startling her if she grooms too close to the scar which makes her so Sad and then Me So Sad and. bro im tired.

(also i have my OWN surgery at the end of this month. which i should be resting for)

i am doing my Best. and while i originally thought what's best for her HAS to be me being in there with her, so she can have as much cone free time as possible, she is a cat and not a person and sleeps like a billion hours a day and when i am stressed so is she. she is fed, watered, and happy to see me by some miracle (if not really a lap cat atm which is understandable given the circumstances). i am not committing galactic war crimes by giving my cat a sensible amount of time to heal (but also releasing her before 7 days is up because she is an outdoor cat and there are limits to her - and importantly my - ability to cope w this).

Apocalypse BaCC Ruleset

I've always wanted to try my hand at an Apocalypse Challenge but could never get behind the whole only one family thing. I am a avid rotational player. One family just bores me, so I came up with this challenge. This is based off of my own rulesfor the Bacc and not the original or one of the many variations.

Starting Out:

-Create a new neighbor and create your three founders. They can be families or single it doesn't matter.

-The three founders may NOT go to college. That would make the challenge way to easy.

-Build and Buy mode tabs are NOT allowed after you build the families house. Not even for a baby crib so make sure you factor that in when you make their house.

-The bunker can look however you want it to. It does not need to be up off the ground nor does it need to be 8x8 but you may only have a max of 3 rooms until Architect is unlocked.

-Sims may not have a stove, they must have the cheapest grill and Fridge.

-No sims may sleep outside.

-The lot must be enclosed by a fence.

-Only 3 restrictions may be unlocked a generation

-No Electronics may be used. Only the cheapest fridge and cheapest fridge

-Basic Electricity is unlocked when a sim has Max mechanical and level 8 logic. Once that is done $3500 must be paid from town funds.

-Taxes must still be paid. It can be whatever percentage you want but it has to be consistent.

-No smoke detectors, sprinklers, burglar alarm

-To unlock running water you must get level 5 cleaning and level 5 logic. That enables sinks.

-Basic airport is your ticket out of the city. If you plan for your kid to go to college you must have a basic airport. You must pay $25,000 dollars. With a basic airport you get:

Flooring

Wallpaper

Adopt Stray Pets

Higher quality furniture that has been unlocked.

-No cars, service sims, or delivery service.

-Pet adoption is unlocked when a pet store is opened.

-Nanny is unlocked when business is unlocked, and there 5 teenagers in town.

Sims may not go on vacation

Sims may not move out until this career is topped.

Businesses may not be built until this career is topped

A position opens when a sim maxes creativity

Sims may not use workbenches or the potty/clothing bench

Sims may not open any art type business or have any paintings on their business

No deco items may be placed

-Athletic

For teens and elders to leave the lot they must have level 10 body skill.

Can NOT have a gym or workout equipment on their businesses.

Cannot move anything bigger than one tile

Items received as date or outing reward may be moved once no matter how big they are but after that they may not be moved again. If they are restricted items they may be moved to inventory but not sold.

Sims may not sell items on community lots that are bigger than one tile

Sims may only sell things they made

Gym equipment may not be used or purchased

Sims may carry no more then three items in their inventory

Good morning! Another update [I promise I'm coming on to write soon]

So, yesterday I put an offer in on my coworker's old house and she countered, and I accepted. She only countered with 1000 more than I offered so I think she was only countering just to get a smidge more out of the house because her realtor is also acting as mine and when the realtor called me she said "I want you to know Morgan spoke highly of you and said she really wants this for you. Shes excited for you." And I just cried and cried. Morgan is also the girl who has worked for billions of shelters and has 12 cats and 4 dogs and she brought me a whole bunch of toys for the puppy and even something for my kitties. She is such a good person.

Anyway a little about the property --

3 bedroom.

Enclosed garage to make an extra room. This will probably be a pet room so the kennel and litters and cat towers/food ect will go in there.

One bathroom - newly renovated.

New roof. New water and sewer lines. Brand new floors [no carpet its ALL hardwood and synthetic wood]. New sink and countertop in kitchen. New energy efficient windows and doors.

Kitchen is slightly small but bigger than I have now, livingroom and dining area, utility room for washer dryer and tons of closets everywhere.

the property is .6 of an acre so its huge. The backyard is ALL fenced. Perfect for my new puppy???????? Theres even a little deck in the back.

It's a small railroad town that's super quiet and super safe. It's got a population of 600 and qualifies for some rural act thing that gives a 350 dollar credit on taxes but the taxes are 290! So the credit makes the taxes zero.

If anyone wants to see the property I will gladly send you a link. As long as I get my information together asap, projected closing date is December 12th! Of course I'm getting an inspection done as well.

The only, one and only downside is its 1 hour from work. But when I lived with my parents I was an hour away [this place is 15 min from them]. So I've done it before.

The mortgage will be HALF of my apartment rent. I think this was meant to be because when I looked at the property I walked in and cried but also morgan just so happened to bring it up the same day I got a puppy? When I wasnt actively looking for a house yet??? Someone was trying to give me the means to properly take care of all my animals tbh.

Top 10 Products I want from Magic

Not even precisely products but more the aspects of products that I think really shined and which could be utilized in other ways to wonderful effect. And if anyone from Wizards happens to see this, #1-5 are literally just “this is what I liked a lot about this product and want to see more of.” #6-10 are things you maybe shouldn’t look at but if you can then go for it. Oh, actually 8 and 9 are cool for you as well.

1. Conspiracy and Conspiracy II were a ton of fun. I have fonder memories of the first since I got to draft it more but these are just right up my alley. Draft matters is definitely a big part of that but I think just the deal where you split a draft pod into smaller multiplayer groups instead of running a swiss tournament is what really defines these products. That’s such a fun way to enjoy Magic and I think even without draft matters you could make a really fun product by embracing that multiplayer aspect.

2. Unstable is just the best damn thing! Silver border is such an absolute and unadulterated joy that I will be real sad if we don’t see another one in future years. But again I think another aspect of this set is something that at least part of Magic’s audience doesn’t get enough of and which I think most of Magic’s audience can really enjoy; the lighthearted fun nature of it. You don’t need just silver border to convey that. Conspiracy definitely brought some of that (I think of them as unofficial silver border sets). But especially if the expert sets are going to focus more on big and serious world threatening conflicts, then the supplemental sets are places to have a little more fun with it. Literally give us a supplemental product where the “plot” revolves around the Gatewatch being on vacation. And it’s unlike any vacation we’d ever go on, but it’s definitely not a world ending thing and we get some fluff and fun stories for like a month while we draft something maybe even a little less serious than Fiora.

3. Less Commander stuff? Personally I’m growing a little bored with Commander and this is stuff I personally want from Magic so I don’t have a problem saying it. Obviously the numbers still currently merit producing the Commander product every year and maybe just eventually I’ll determine it’s not worth my buying it but they are still able to do some cool stuff with it. If not less, then I just want to see more done with it. Commander Draft like I’ve been talking about lately. The boat’s kind of left on putting out a Tiny Leaders thing as the Commander product one year, but maybe explore stuff like that?

4. Planechase and Archenemy! I’m always surprised by how much my friends (who don’t have cards and only play when I bring packs or decks for us) want to play Planechase. Like it’s fun for sure, but this quickly overtook draft as their hands down favorite way to play Magic (or more accurately, draft and then do a Planechase multiplayer game replaced just drafting and playing multiplayer with draft decks). They hardly have interest in doing something else and of course you can always throw a Planechase deck onto any other way of playing Magic (we haven’t yet done Explorers of Ixalan Planechase and the story logic of that is frightening at best...). But at any rate, I would love to see new planes and locales get some Planechase treatment. But outside of that you’ve got two fun formats that utilized a shared library of a sort (well, not shared in Archenemy but still, only one such library in a multiplayer game) and you can do so much more with this I’m sure. In a similar vein, I’d love an official Wizard’s Tower product, likely with some augmented rules and story trappings. I’m imagining perhaps “Battle for the Tolarian Academy” as the Explorers of Ixalan-type product to go alongside Dominaria.

5. Art books are amazing! I’m not sure how well these are doing (whether good or bad) or what it means with the changing block structure (if we theoretically went to three different worlds in a year, they just don’t have the resources to give us an art book for each) but these are some of the best things on my bookshelves. The art is stupendous and the world and story snippets have me coming back months later to get another little taste of these awesome worlds. I hope we can at least continue to get them for new worlds and for revisits that haven’t yet gotten an art book.

6. A Gatewatch cartoon! The Professor has already talked about this and for all the reasons he’s mentioned and more, this could be really cool. I think I’d actually prefer to see it done in partnership with Netflix (or at least along the lines of that sort of model) with a set and closed plot with about 10 episodes or so. I’d rather an Over the Garden Wall style totally enclosed story in one season (even if they never did another) than a meandering and open multi-season affair with no promise of finality or pay off. At least see how that first season goes and then consider how to revisit it.

7. Cube support beyond cards. I’m thinking explicitly a breifcase sort of thing with some reusable plastic sleeves that probably velcro shut or something and hold 15-18 cards neatly. Maybe complete with a little booklet with cube construction advice, “collating” your boosters to accomplish different things and make better drafts, stuff like that. It would have dividers for tokens and dice but the bulk of it would just exist to hold 720 cards ready to go in the provided boosters.

8. I understand a lot of reasons why the story is limited to mostly being a once a week thing online. But I’m also among those (if #5 and #6 weren’t clues enough) who desperately wants more story. There are definitely more stories to be told in Magic than just what sees focus in a set and which we get to see on Wednesdays. The issue here is actually with budget and best use of the taxed creative team resources, but I’d love a situation where some resources are allotted for a Magic Fiction column that is explicitly not focused on the main plot. Wednesday would be the main story. Perhaps on Monday or Friday we would get a story that could be anything--in between some major plot events with the main characters (ok that’s technically main plot but the difference is this isn’t as essential), or a look in with some planeswalker we haven’t seen in awhile (perhaps to seed their reappearance a la Nahiri’s treatment), or just world building and tone setting (Sacrifice featuring the Gitrog Monster is still my favorite Magic story ever and nothing about Shadows Over Innistrad’s plot necessitated that story be written). So many of us are frothing at the mouth for nuggets from the Multiverse. Please give us more.

9. New casting structure for tournaments. I mean specifically the “telecasting” aspect of tournaments. I want the option to watch a much more layman level casting of it where the announcers explain more of what’s going on at a new person’s level. For one, especially for formats I don’t play, that is so damn helpful (it’s such a pain to have Gatherer up trying to figure out what plays are occurring and trying to figure out why, so much so that I don’t watch much tournament Magic at all unless I know the formats/decks going into it and it’s particularly high profile). This would also open it up more as something that I could potentially watch with friends (like those mentioned above) who aren’t nearly as into Magic as I am. This is a weird one and I don’t think this one paragraph does it justice, but essentially I want like the Spellslingers of tournament casting as an outlet to the less enfranchised. That’s not even the best way of putting it but I think you have the gist of the idea now.

10. Scratch off cards! This would go in an un set and this is just a pet idea of mine but I’m real big on it. Variants in Unstable show us that isn’t out of the question. The next step is slapping some scratch off bits over the rules text and figuring out how to do it so you can cast those and scratch ‘em off only as you do that. (targeting is the tricky bit with these but I think there are ways to work around that)

Su Nuraxi di Barumini: Massive Nuraghi of Sardinia

Su Nuraxi di Barumini or Barumini Nuraghi in English is the best place to feel and witness the historical face of Sardinia Island. "Nuraghi" or "Nuraxi" means that a cone-shaped tower built by the carving of the top part of the high rocks. In total, there are more than 8000 Nuraghi in whole Sardinia and the Su Nuraxi di Barumini is the biggest and most iconic of all among them. It is also in the Unesco's World Heritage List since 1997. Well, if you came to Sardinia to enjoy its stunning beaches and waters, my suggestions are to share some time to visit its other precious treasure like Su Nuraxi di Barumini. What is Nuraxi or Nuraghe?

I think that it will be helpful to give a bit of information about the Nuraghes in Sardinia. Actually, there is no clear consensus oın the origin of the nuraghes in Sardinia. They could have been the military strongholds or defensive structures, most people thought they were. But of course, there are other ideas like rules residences, temples, villages of the regular people. But some of these nuraghes are located in geographically strategic point all among the Sardinia which points that they are important military building.

Su Nuraxi di Barumini in winter, no it's Winterfell! (Source). At least, they were important for the controlling of the regions, passage or imperative locations. However, they could only the national symbol of the Nuragic people who were living Sardinia between the 18th BCE and 238 BCE until the Roman colonization of the Sardinia. Archaeological studies are still in progress in Sardinia and the total number of the nuraghes is expected to increase up to 10000. Of course, not all the nuraghes in Sardinia is massive and impressive like Su Nuraxi di Barumini. Even some of them is like a small tower as you can see below.

Su Nuraxi di Barumini (Barumini Nuraghi)

If you want to see the worlds biggest nuraghe. You need to go to the Su Nuraxi di Barumini. Because it is the best known and preserved example for that bronze age of Sardinia Island. It was built on the Barumini region where was the home of the ancient Nuragic civilization of Sardinia more than 3000 years ago! Nuraghes are unique to Sardinia Island. You can't see any other complex building from Bronze Age anywhere in the world except this stunning island of Mediterranean. Generally, nuraghes are circular building located on the strategic location of Sardinia, probably for the defensive intents. It is also clear that those buildings were improved in time with additional structures.

The western part of Sardinia Island has more nuraghes (Source). In Su Nuraxi di Barumini, you will a massive central tower and three chambers connected with each other more than an 18-meter high spiral staircase. And probably you will wonder; How did they build this?! By the way, please try to figure out the layout of the Su Nuraxi di Barumini from the satellite map on the below while reading. The upper part of the tower no longer exists, unfortunately. Also, the main central tower was enclosed with the four smaller towers. This diagonal part of the nuraghe closed by the roof and the access to the hearth of it restricted. And you will see another surrounding wall. On the more outside part of the nuraghe there are circular huts and homes.

Abandonment of nuraghes in Sardinia

Su Nuraxi di Barumini was abandoned around the 6th century BCE but from time to time people used this place to live. However, new huts and homes built but they were different than the original ones. They used a different kind of stones and layout. You may see them when you visit Su Nuraxi di Barumini. Eventually, after Roman reign over the Sardinia, most of the nuraghes in Sardinia abandoned. Romans have conquered the Sardinia around at the 2nd century BCE. Even though, the archaeological evidence shows that the Nuragic people lived on nuraghes one more century until the 3rd century BCE.

Where is The Su Nuraxi di Barumini (Barumini Nuraghi)?

Su Nuraxi di Barumini where is the biggest nuraghe in the world is located in the Barumini region of Sardinia. Barumini is a very small settlement with around 1500 people. although it is so small, it is very famous and well known among the people who are visiting Sardinia Island. Barumini is only 50 km north of the Cagliari and 15 km northeast of the Sanluri. Especially if you are staying in Cagliari it is very easy to go to the Su Nuraxi di Barumini. If you want to go to Barumini by using public transport you have only two option; lines 436 and 501. Bus Line 436 (Cagliari Train Sation to Barumini): 26 stops and 110 minutes Bus Line 501 (Cagliari Train Station to Barumini): 13 stops and 90 minutes Both of the bus lines depart from the same station and arrives at the same station. But the bus line 436 has more stops and take 20 minutes more to arrive at the Barumini. So, it is better to use bus line 436 to go to Barumini if you want to use public transport. If you already rent a car from Cagliari it is time to enjoy the road. You can follow this route which is about 60 km and 50 minutes by car. The other options you may think are take a taxi or joining a tour to visit the Barumini.

Visiting The Su Nuraxi di Barumini (Barumini Nuraghi)

You can visit the Barumini by yourself without any guide or tour. Just take the road above by bus or a car and go to the Barumini directly. Su Nuraxi di Barumini is open all along the year without any exceptions. Of course, some part of it may be closed from time to time due to maintenance and archaeological excavations on the site. Before you visit just don't forget to bring caps, sunscreen and water with you on the summer season. Because it may really hot. However, for the winter and or rainy times, it is better to wear waterproof and anti-slip shoes. You may find the key information about visiting the Su Nuraxi di Barumini. Open to the visitors a whole year with no exceptions. For pets

If a cyclone hits, are you going to evacuate or stay at home?

If your pet is staying at home, think about confining it in the safest enclosed room of the house e.g. the bathroom, and DO NOT tie your pet up. Make sure there’s food and water.

Talk to your neighbours and tell them about your evacuation plans in case you are away.

Ensure your emergency kit contains plenty of non-perishable food (e.g. dry food) and water in spill-proof containers.

Make sure your pet is microchipped and has a current collar and tag in case it gets lost.

If you are at home with your pet during a cyclone, try to keep them as calm as possible.

For horses and livestock

Whether you leave livestock in yards or in the paddock should depend on the type of emergency and the risk of injury from material or trees in the paddocks, the likelihood of flooding and the stability of their yards.
