Peter Egan Appears in TV Ad for EGAN Healthcare

Peter Egan appearing in his first ever TV commercial for his family’s business, EGAN Home Health and Hospice.

While this was his first television commercial to receive substantial airtime on a major network during premium programming, it will almost certainly not be his last.

Peter will be launching an exciting new venture in the upcoming weeks and months that is expected to lean heavily on TV and radio advertising during related programming. Peter is quietly having conversations behind the scenes with these media entities to determine how to best allocate the advertising budget for the first three months following the initial launch.

The below ad for the Egan family’s home health care and hospice agency ran during the fall of 2015 and 2016 on the local network that broadcasts all of the New Orleans Saints football games. In fact, the ad has appeared during the course of a game on numerous occasions.

Whether you like the face below or not, you’ll likely be seeing more of it in mass media programming. While he’s been tight-lipped about the nature of this endeavor, Peter is confident that, as the President would say, it’s (it being the new venture) going to be Yuge.

EGAN Home Health and Hospice is in the process of launching four new websites, two of which are live, albeit still under development.

EGAN Hospice, EGAN Caregivers and EGAN Home Health are each getting a unique site (as opposed to all being lumped together on the main site), and Egan.Healthcare will be the fourth site added to the family of companies to serve as a parent site to all the new child sites.

Catfish Chumming Results

Results from Catfish Chumming Experiment

Back in the Spring, Peter Egan wrote a lengthy article and filmed a series of four videos instructing fishermen how to catch more catfish by using chum.

The article was entitled How to Chum for Catfish. In the article, which features all of the first four videos (and all of the how-to videos), Peter outlines various methods of chumming and teaches the reader what conditions dictate which method of chumming.

Peter spent approximately six months changing the contents of the chum bucket weekly, and fishing at least once or twice a week to get a feel for the results. While on the topic of results, the results were nothing short of astounding. Peter could walk onto the balcony of his weight room (the room over the boat slip), cast and within 30 seconds have a catfish between 1-5 pounds. Larger fish require going down the stairs onto the deck and fishing from there, as reeling a large fish up to a balcony is a recipe for disaster.

The good times lasted about six months in terms of fishing for catfish.

Then Hurricane Matthew dumped a ton of water on SE Louisiana. Right as that water was receding, a strong southeast wind drove the water levels back up to flood stage and kept them there for about five days. When they finally receded, Hurricane Nate was lurking just a few days behind, so the water was higher than normal for about a month, and my neighborhood was flooded about three weeks out of that month.

Gators Move In, Catfish Move Out

When the water was high and moving fast, the contents of the chum bucket attracted more creatures than the usual blend of snakes, turtles and of course, catfish. Sometime during that second flood an 8-9′ alligator made its way into the bayou and chased all the fish away. When it left, a 5′ gator took its place, and today was the first day he wasn’t seen in the bayou. It was also the first day catfish had returned to the bayou. For the record Peter strongly suspects that there is a direct correlation between the gators and the absence of catfish and vice versa. Maybe it’s nothing, but he suspects that there is in fact a correlation between the two phenomena.
