A few weeks after Jaffa died, this card arrived in the post for me. It was from our local vets and contained a lovely message of sympathy, some advice and helplines for coping with pet loss and some forget me nots seeds to scatter. It is with immense sadness that I have to let you know that my special baby, Jaffa, passed away on Saturday. I held him in my arms and gave him cuddles, kisses and told him how much he meant, as he fell asleep peacefully. It has all happened so quickly and unexpectedly, and I’m utterly broken. My heart feels empty - like it’s been ripped in half - and I feel drained from crying so much. I just want to cuddle my baby again. He came home to live with us on the 27th October 2004 and left us exactly fourteen years later. To me, he was so much more than a pet cat. He was my best friend - my baby 💕 He arrived just as I was becoming ill and has been by my side through all the ups and downs that the last fourteen years have brought. He’s sat by me as I’ve cried, has stopped me when I’ve wanted to end things or harm myself and has made me laugh with his adorable personality. I just cannot imagine my life without him. My heart has a Jaffa sized paw print that will never fade. Jaffa, Jiff Jaff, Jibbles - my baby boy - I truly hope you are snuggled somewhere cosy and warm with a lovely big bowl of food and plenty of love.
