The North Philadelphia Office of the Western Saving Fund Society was built in 1925 and is located at Germantown Ave. & W. Venango St. This modern classicism building was designed by the Philadelphia firm, Willing, Sims & Talbutt, and was built with Indiana limestone, bronze ornament, brick, steel, and reinforced concrete. This classic beauty features ornamental ironwork produced by the Philadelphia workshop of Samuel Yellin. Another fab set of archival photos of the Police Administration Building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Designed by Geddes Brecher Qualls Cunningham; structural engineer August Komendant. 1959–1963. For this building August Komendant developed an economic system of precast concrete elements: load-bearing façade panels and floor panels were cast in a concrete factory, and the geometry of the panels was optimised to reduce the amount of different elements in production.
