what's ur favorite part about FFXIV and what's ur least favorite I know basically nothing about the game
oh my god. im about to yap so hard
my absolute FAVOURITE part of ffxiv is when Shinryu, basically Zenos's semi-dragon-semi-god-kinda-not-those-things transformation shows up to help the WoL (short for Warrior of Light) to defeat the ultimate manifestation of despair of dying worlds (the Endsinger) ^-^ and basically goes : hey why haven't you killed her yet i thought you're better than this? and then we go on a chase to hunt her and it was AWESOME and it was the best thing ever and and- GOUHGHHGGH shatters into glass
Zenos was an antagonist/rival/mirror/narrative foil and his entire character makes me want to throw up (positive) and fall down several staircases (again : positive). other people have worded this better than me but Zenos is somehow both a narrative foil to both the WoL (in-game protag) and also the player. which doesn't make sense until it does. he's. kind of in-between the fourth wall. and he stays that way until he dies- wait ive gone off-topic
ANYWAY. that was my favourite part of the game
myyyyy least favourite part of the game is definitely. side-eyes. Island fucking Sanctuary. its basically a private island for everyone type thing except they made it into SPREADSHEETS! i had to organise spreadsheets every goddamn week (it was a weekly cycle) and i still dont know why i did it. the motorcycle mount i got out of it was peak though

genuinely that Thanatos comic is so unfathomably good I'm,,,
him having long hair younger and then cutting it because it feels like a vulnerability, the erased "I" to "he" it's all so fucking good
ohh thanky ou so much!! im glad you liked it :) the whole concept has been stewing in my brain for a whole long while and i just had to shove it out and make it everyones problem lol
genuinely this means so much to me :)) that people are taking the time to notice the little details !! my hands are shaking a bit right now haha. or i need to drink juice who knows
i think his nature is portrayed so well in h1 ! it was easy to imagine him cutting out moments of weakness and by extension his childhood softness/naivete..isolating his trauma by treating it as a stranger and by extension protecting himself! he still obviously harbors resentment towards sisyphus so his imprisonment has affected him very deeply.. the question is how much he can/will acknowledge and embrace and heal from what happened to him haha
#sorry for blabbering so much i dont get asks very often lol#yayyyyyyyyy!!!#thank you :D#pikaboops#ochi asked

Thank you for the tag @onewingedsparrow! I love reading so this was definitely fun!
Six books I want to read this year:
- Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. I have it from the library after a recommendation from a friend so this one will be soon.
- Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik. I was reading Naomi Novik's short story collection that came out and there was one that was apparently very much like the novel. Curious to see the differences now.
- Temeraire Series by Naomi Novik. For the same reason of getting interested via the short stories of hers. Technically a series but I mean I want to read the whole thing so.
- Chronicles of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery. Got it last year and it seems like an interesting tie-in to the Anne series.
- Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. Again got it last year and interested in seeing what it's like. Looks interesting.
- I don't tend to plan out my reading far in advance so. For the last one I'll somewhat cheat and do a list of rereads I'm interested in. Brandon Sanderson's The Lost Metal, Wind and Truth, and Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. Anne series. Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman. Maybe even some Austen and Pyrdain.
I'm trying to think of friends who actually read books uhhhh @dawn-the-rithmatist @pastelsandpining @pikaboops and of course anyone who wants to join in!
#tag game#idk what else to tag so I shall dive into explanation of the cosmere reread choices#TLM: um with the five cosmere books that have come out since I read it I feel like I would get more value out of it now#WaT: really good the first read. just want to be able to savor it again.#(I mean full stormlight reread would be nice for new connections but I did that the past 2 years so NOPE)#YatNP: literally just my favorite book. EVER. why shouldn't I reread?#oh now that I think about it Isles of Emberdark is supposed to come out this year. so that and dragonsteel prime are also likely

ask game 34
34. Do you like UAs (universe-alterations, when the main universe and characters are the same but one plot point/decision/outcome is altered)?
YES I DO. I could eat that all day. I think this is part of why I enjoyed Age of Calamity so much- it’s an altered universe fix it fic lol. Like that whole butterfly effect thing is just great. Yes please.
Thanks for the ask @pikaboops !
