Varicose Veins: Signs You Must See a Doctor
In the hustle and bustle of modern life, maintaining our health often takes center stage. We diligently hit the gym, opt for healthier food choices, and strive for a balanced lifestyle. Despite our best efforts, certain health issues can still rear their heads, and one such concern is varicose veins.
These unsightly, enlarged, and twisted veins can affect people, especially those with a sedentary lifestyle or a family history of the condition. Typically found just under the surface of the skin, varicose veins are most common on the legs, either on the inside of the leg or behind the knee.
While they might seem harmless at first—primarily a cosmetic issue—varicose veins can cause discomfort and pain, and in some cases, lead to more serious complications like sores, skin ulcers, or blood clots. Although many people may only notice the unsightly appearance of varicose veins, others might experience more severe symptoms.
Dr Amita Jain, Delhi and Gurgaon’s top laparoscopic and varicose veins surgeon shares the signs that indicate it is time to consult a doctor.

Comprehensive Care for Piles in Gurgaon
Comprehensive Care for Piles in Gurgaon: Understanding Treatment Options
Dealing with piles, also known as hemorrhoids, can be distressing and affect your daily life. However, receiving comprehensive care from specialized healthcare providers can make a significant difference in managing this condition effectively. In Gurgaon, several healthcare facilities, including Kalyani Hospital, offer comprehensive care for piles, ensuring patients receive personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
Understanding Piles
Piles are swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus that can cause discomfort, pain, itching, and sometimes bleeding. They can be internal, external, or both, and may vary in severity from mild to severe cases requiring medical intervention.
Diagnostic Process
The journey to effective piles treatment begins with a thorough diagnostic process. Healthcare providers in Gurgaon employ advanced diagnostic techniques such as digital rectal examination (DRE), anoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy to accurately assess the extent and severity of piles. This initial evaluation helps doctors determine the most appropriate treatment approach.
Non-Surgical Treatment Options
For mild to moderate cases of piles, non-surgical treatment options are often recommended. These include:
Dietary and Lifestyle Modifications: Adjustments in diet, such as increasing fiber intake to soften stools and prevent straining during bowel movements, can alleviate symptoms.
Medications: Topical creams, ointments, or suppositories containing hydrocortisone or witch hazel can help reduce inflammation and discomfort.
Rubber Band Ligation: A minimally invasive procedure where a rubber band is placed around the base of the hemorrhoid to cut off its blood supply, causing it to shrink and fall off.
Sclerotherapy: Injection of a chemical solution into the hemorrhoid to shrink it.
Surgical Treatment Options
In cases where non-surgical methods are ineffective or piles are severe, surgical intervention may be necessary. Common surgical procedures include:
Hemorrhoidectomy: Surgical removal of hemorrhoids, particularly useful for large or protruding hemorrhoids.
Stapled Hemorrhoidopexy (PPH): A procedure that uses a circular stapling device to remove excess tissue and reposition the remaining hemorrhoidal tissue back into its normal position.

Top 10 hacks to simplify your house move
If you’re moving house this summer and are reluctantly starting to think about the ‘big pack up’, why not take a look at our tips to make sure your home move goes as smoothly with Packers and Movers Chandigarh to Gurgaon Cost, and ease your mind!
1. Pack up your wardrobe
If, like us, you have enough clothes to dress your whole family for the foreseeable future, then the thought of packing it all into storage boxes will understandably fill you with dread. However, fear not! All you need to do is stock up on bin bags – then you can put these over your already hanging clothes to keep them together. And this way, they’ll be ready to hang in your new wardrobe as soon as you move in (double win!).
2. Take lots of photos
If you can, visit your new house before you move in and take lots of photos of both the interior and exterior of the property. This will help you to decide where you want to put your existing belongings before you move in to speed up the unpacking process. Plus, save these photos somewhere safe to help you when you move out (if you’re renting) to get back your deposit.
We would also recommend taking some pictures of your old house for the memories!
3. Stop yourself from getting locked out
We’ve all experienced that annoying moment when your front door swings shut behind you, leaving you on the outside, juggling a pile of cardboard boxes and debating whether or not this is too early to break into your own home. So, as you’ll be going in and out a lot whilst packing up your house, try tying a rubber band around the door handle to stop this. Or, alternatively, invest in a doorstop – our personal favourites are these brightly coloured animal ones!
4. Label your chargers and plug sockets
These days, most of us will have many charging cables for phones, laptops, tablets, speakers – the list goes on! Equally, when you’re unpacking kitchenware, desperate for the kettle for that cup of tea, you’re not going to want to start untangling wires! To avoid time consuming sifting, label them as you pack! You can use the tabs of loaves of bread, sticky tape, or if you’re feeling fancy, you could use colour!
5. Protect your bed
Moving house can be very tiring; all that you’ll want to do as soon as you’re in your new home could be to collapse into bed for a good night’s sleep. So, to prevent your mattress from getting damaged or dirty on the move, invest in some cheap fitted sheets and put them on both sides of the mattress before it’s loaded into the truck.
6. Get rid of nail holes
For many of us, adding a personal touch to a property can make the difference between living in a house and living in a home. However, when taking down photos and decorations from the walls you may spy a number of holes left in the walls. A quick and easy way to get rid of these is by scrubbing across the hole with a bar of soap until it’s filled!
7. DIY box handles
What could be worse than packing a cardboard box full of your kitchen crockery, and then dropping the box as soon as you go to move it because it’s so hard to hold?! Simple answer – make the box easier to carry! Cut handholds in two sides of the box, like these examples below.
8. Put string underneath tape
One of life’s eternal struggles is definitely trying to remove sticky tape that simply won’t budge when you’re unpacking. To avoid this, leave a tail of string hanging out from the tape, so that it can easily be ripped off when you come to unpack.
9. Get rid of clutter
Moving time is the perfect time to get rid of all the things in your home which you haven’t used since your last move! Whether this is clothes, furniture, food, or your child’s baby toys, if you de-clutter before you pack you’ll shave hours off your packing time. Plus, you will have more space in your new home. You could have a car boot sale to raise some extra cash, give your belongings to charity, get onto an auction site online or give them to friends (to blackmail them into helping you move!).
10. Be greedy!
It’s surprising how much space food and drink can take up when you’re packing. So, to eliminate this issue, consume everything in your cupboards (Oh, is that Chocolate Fudge Cake? Well… needs must!).

The purpose
I cleared out my bookshelf today. It’s a plywood shelf, with six sections, laid out in a two by three manner. It was made when I was a baby, a little after my birth. Initially, my baby supplies were kept in it. My mother started reading to me from the start. A shelf became reserved for baby books in time. Gradually it increased to two, then three. By age three I had started reading on my own, and my mother could not have been happier. We moved abroad. The shelf stayed in an empty apartment for five years. In that time, I had become a voracious reader, devouring words, sentences. The local library was my haven and I had no bookshelf at home, and longed for one. The plywood shelf sat in the apartment, waiting for me.
We came back home to India after our sojourn abroad, and the bookshelf was shifted from the empty apartment in Hyderabad to the little house in Gurgaon. Books after books sat on it’s shelves. In fits of agitation, fear, anxiety, I’d rub my hands along the spines of each book and calm myself. I’d pull one out, and drift away from the uncertainties of life. I’ve always been the bookish sorts. Too clumsy for sports, too shy for dancing, too raspy for singing. Art and the violin have been my companions, but my books were everything to me. When I was younger, with my hair coming loose, with my glasses slipping off my nose, with my shirt untucked out of my school skirt, you’d find my eyes wide, trained on pages after pages.
Seasons came and went, new books creased their spines, and old ones creased further. We’ve had to remove books over the years, put them away in cardboard boxes and move them away into storage. I’ve cried every time. Today I didn’t cry. I’m nearing sixteen. I’m preparing for entrance examinations for law school. Naturally, I have plenty of textbooks, that have to be kept somewhere. As I’m writing this, the bookshelf looks forlorn. There are textbooks in three of the six shelves. It looks so barren. My heart is clenching, as I stare at the pile of books on the floor. They won’t fit into the shelves. The wind blows unfeelingly in through the open window and ruffles the curtains. If I was younger, I’d sit in that monsoon wind, just to enjoy how it feels. Now, I don’t have the time.
My mother comes in. She looks as the books on the floor. I can see the crease deepen on her forehead. When did that wrinkle come, I wonder. She looks at me, and I can see it in her eyes. I test the feeling, saying, “ Ammi, I think we may need a bigger bookshelf.” She shakes her head. “You’ll be gone in about two years, why get a bookshelf.”, she says. Another wrinkle appears on her forehead, as we both process what she’ s said. I reach out to hug her, and marvel at the fact that I’m taller than her. She lets me go, and somewhat frantically says, “Can’t any more fit in?”. I shake my head, and she stands there for a minute, not quite looking at me. I think she’s seeing my childhood in me. She turns on her heel and rushes out.
I’m sitting on the cold marble floor, and I can’t quite believe it. This home, this shelf, these books, will not really be mine in a few years. There was certainty in the shelf, in it spilling over with books. These clean, organised, barren shelves unsettle me. They unsettled my father too, when he came in. He asked me the same question as my mother. He received the same answer. Immediately, he tried to find a way of fitting in more. It wasn’t possible. I looked at him, and realised that we were all scared. I am my parent’s only child. How much longer till I wasn’t ?
My dog is sitting by me on the floor. As he stands, I see the stiffness in his back legs. Two summers ago, we’d be running across the grass. This summer, we sat in it. He’s old now, walking slowly, sleeping more. The Earth is tilting on it’s axis for me. The truth is, years from now, I may read this post and laugh. I may cry. But I’ll know that it’s inevitable. My jet hair will turn ivory. My nimble fingers will stiffen. My eyes will become weaker. I’ll lose the vitality I love. I know for a fact, that if gap-toothed seven year old me, met me now, she’d tut and shake her head, and tell me that I’ve disappointed her. I have.
There’s a tightness in my throat that won’t go.  I’m terrified of the future, nursing hurt from the past. I’m staring at a bookshelf I don’t recognize. If I look in the mirror, I don’t think I’ll recognize the person there.

The Complication Associated With Unpredictable Fibroid Growth
Tumblr media
Fibroids are unpredictable growth on the ovaries or in the uterus, which has complications related to conception and pregnancy. In case the woman has been diagnosed with fibroids, it is understood that she will be looking to alleviate the symptoms. If the size of fibroids is small and your symptoms mild, but for those suffering from terrible symptoms and who have many years to go before the menopause, then this is not an option. But there are some of the major problems with fibroids is that conventional medicine can only treat the symptoms of fibroids rather than the root cause. This means that even if you manage to have the fibroids removed, or use drug treatment to suppress hormones, causing shrinkage, then your fibroids are likely to regrow. This is because you are not taking steps to eliminate the root causes.
Treatment Options To Be Considered
The following uterine fibroids treatment options can be considered
Laparoscopy surgery: A laparoscopy a latest and advanced outpatient surgery that is usually performed under general anesthesia. During a laparoscopy, the physician inserts a small fiber-optic telescope into the abdominal cavity through an incision made in the patient’s umbilical area (belly button). Most physicians initially distend the abdomen using carbon dioxide gas with a needle to create what is called a pneumoperitoneum. With the help of a laparoscope, a gynecologic surgeon can inspect the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. The appendix and upper abdomen are inspected as well. The surgeon inserts a telescope through the umbilical port, which allows them to use a carbon dioxide laser to cut scar tissue or destroy implants of endometriosis. Apart from that, some other instruments can be used to cut or burn abnormalities such as endometriosis or scar tissue. In the case of laparoscopy surgery, the surgeon typically introduces a blue dye into the uterine cavity while directly visualizing the fallopian tubes. The fallopian tube open are located in an abnormal location because of scar tissue, then the surgeon may try to free the fallopian tubes to improve the patient’s fertility.
Myectomy: This is a procedure to remove individual fibroids and less invasive than some other options as the uterus remains intact, allowing women the potential to become pregnant. There can be problems such as excessive bleeding and the formation of scar tissue. Many different ways are used for performing a myomectomy and the procedure will depend on the size and location of the fibroids. There are three different ways of operating. First of all, the method involves a horizontal abdominal incision and the surgeon has full access to the uterus and removes the fibroids. The second method is by a laparoscopic, whereby the surgeon gains access to the uterus either by a small incision in the abdomen or via the vagina. The uterus is visualized by a small camera that is inserted through another cut and the fibroids are removed. Also, it isn’t always suitable for large fibroids and the strength of any repair made to the uterine wall may not be as robust as pre-surgery.
