I’m slowly becoming more and more done with the RWBY subreddit. Every single time something regarding Rosegarden is posted there, it is immediately met by immense hate and criticism, the worst of all of them being that “it’s creepy and borderline pedophilia because of Ozpin.” It’s just so irritating. They are seriously overthinking the “issues��� of this ship.

You,my friend, have more patience with RWBY Reddit than I did, Miggy. Not to sound salty or anythingbut I lost all respect I had for RWBY Reddit after the bit of backlash myscript got on there. I already had my misgivings about the site since I sharedan Oscar fanart on there once only to be met with crude comments. No disrespectto anyone who frequents the RWBY Reddit and find it to be a great staple in theRWBY Community, personally that side of the RWBY FDNM has left a sour taste inthis squigglemeister’s mouth. The attitude ofsome of the fans over there is honestly distasteful and your qualm with howthey treat RoseGarden only proves my point.

Seriously?How many times do us Rosegardeners haveto make the counter argument that RoseGarden is a pairing between Ruby Rose and Oscar Pine—a16/17 year old girl and a 14 year old boy? How is a 2-3 year age difference considered problematic and why do people still keep bringing Ozpin into theirpairing when the shippers in the FNDM, not to mention the actual canon series,has clarified that Ozpin isn’t a factor in Ruby and Oscar’s relationship.

What issues? As faras I understand, this ship has no real issues because the major two issues havebeen debunked by both the fans and the showrunners. The two year age differencethe antis keep hollering about? Miles Luna said that’s perfectly fine and let’snot forget the gigantic hypocrisy in shipping RoseGarden being problematic forthe 2 year age difference while meanwhile Lancaster,Whiterose, Checkmate, Nuts and Dolts and every other Ruby ships exist. 

There are folks whoship Ruby with her own sister romantically but no, shipping her with the oneperson who is closest to her in age is a no-no. Seriously, how many times do Ihave to voice how silly that argument is?

Ozpin being in Oscar’s head? Not an issue because a) Oscar and Ozpin areexpected to merge at some point and Ozpin is going to become a part of Oscarbut our farm boy isn’t the one who is destined to change. Ozpin is and heforeshadowed this back in V5 C3 and b) V6 made a point to highlight that theprevious soul coexisting with its successor does not affect or intervene intheir relationships; past and present. In the case of Henkle, Ozma learned theimportance of living with the men he was paired with and as we saw, Ozma darednot interrupt Henkle’s time with his family. 

If anything it was Henkle’sinvolvement in the fight against the Grimm and Salem as one of Ozma’ssuccessors that affected his home life. Not so much Ozma since we witnessed himlive two lifetimes (Ambroise and Emmanuel completely avoiding confrontationwith Salem following Digg’s demise).   

Soeven if Ozpin shares a mind with Oscar, this doesn’t affect the farm boy’srelationship with Ruby. Either souls share a different perception andrelationship with the Silver Eyed Girl and it’s highlighted in the way theyboth treat and interact with her. The same can be said with how differentlyRuby treats Oscar and Ozpin whenever one soul is in control.

Evenif Oscar were to fall in love with Ruby, his romantic interest in her will notbe mirrored in Ozpin. To Ozpin, Ruby is his former student and nothing more. ToRuby, Ozpin is the former headmaster of Beacon—one of her mentors and theadults she looks up to and nothing more. But to Ruby, her bond with Oscartranscends her impression of Ozpin and isn’t treated the same.

Theshow doesn’t treat Ruby’s affiliation with Oscar and Ozpin as the same so itbaffles me that there are members of the fandom who see/treat it that way whenthere is concrete canon evidence to suggest otherwise. Again, how many timesmust we debate this?

Nowyou’ve reminded me why I avoided RWBY Reddit for so long. It’s one of the firstplaces I heard spreading negativity regarding RoseGarden. Seriously, if that iswhat the atmosphere is like across there for the ship then perhaps you shouldstray away from the site, Miggy. At least in respect to RoseGarden. I’m notsure if you follow other stuff on RWBY Reddit and might wish to stay for that.But in regards to RoseGarden, save it for Tumblr (and maybe Twitter, Discordand Amino too) because at least the RG community over here are cool.

You’redefinitely more likely to find FNDM members who strongly support RoseGardenthan rally against it. Best to stay where the rose blossoms can prosper andthrive rather than wander to the dark forests of RWBY Reddit where they’rewither and die…or get set aflame.

Whit-ty Headcanons: Whitley the Huntsman

Other than my usual Oscar Pine Pinehead headcanons, I have a few Whit-ty or Whitley-Schnee themed headcanons too. And one of them is one I’ve had since V5.

My headcanon is that in an attempt to use his son to persuade his wayward sister, Whitley Schnee is enrolled at Atlas Academy after Jacques learnt of Weiss and her friends deciding to continue their huntsmen training at the kingdom’s school.

In my head, apart from wishing to engage in his father’s wishes, Whit also had a personal ulterior motive. Out of his own curiosity, he desired to see what the whole big deal about the huntsmen was all about. And in spite having zero prior training himself, he still chose to enroll in Atlas to get a taste of the lifestyle in hopes of helping himself to understand his sisters. And if Whitley is able to understand his sisters, perhaps it can lead to what he truly desires which is an actual good close relationship with his sisters.

I understand that most FNDM fam don’t think highly of Whitley. Nor do they believe he could or should be redeemed. However this squiggle meister has gained a newfound interest in Whitley Schnee. As I’ve mentioned before, I actually kind of like Whitley. He’s not my favourite like Oscar but I do consider myself an advocate for him receiving proper development and an actual redemption arc. I do think Whitley is redeemable and part of how I’d personally love to see that done is, Whitley learning the importance of why both his sisters chose the path of people who fight to defend the world.

I’d actually love to see Whitley train to be a huntsmen and unlock his Schnee Family semblance. Another fun headcanon of mine is that Whitley ends up on the same huntsmen team as Oscar and the two form a friendship and close comradery from their time together as teammates. Yes, I know the Rosegardening Pinehead side of me still wants these two boys to duke it out for Ruby’s affections. However, the Rich Farmers FRIEND-ship loving side of me also supports the theory of these two becoming good friends.

And I like this idea even more if the two end up training on the same huntsman team. That could be cool if canon.

I know some RWBY theorists have pointed out that Whitley’s fairy-tale counterpart is Artemis Fowl. But in terms of the Snow White fairy-tale, I’m starting to dig the idea of Whit being the Huntsman to Weiss’ Snow White.

In Snow White, the Huntsman was enlisted by the Evil Queen to kill Snow White however the Huntsman chose to spare her life; returning with the heart of a dead animal to fool the queen into believing he had done his deed. I think Jacques could potentially use Whitley to get at his sisters. Who knows? For now, I just really love the concept of Whitley awakening his semblance like his sisters.

I like it because it can potentially lead into a moment where all three Schnee siblings rise up to fight side by side with their summons in tow. That could be pretty badass. Bonus if they reunite with their grandfather and it’s four Schnees from two generations. I dunno. For now, it’s only a cool theory.

I know I’m a Pinehead. However I’m also a Whit so my Whitley Redemption craving nen-nen couldn’t resist writing this small script. No title because it’s not an official RWBY Squiggle Script. I guess you can say it’s dialogue for a parallel I think could be interesting to see.

Whitley: Whatever do you mean?

Weiss: Is that why you hate me? Are you jealous of my abilities? Of Winter’s.

Whitley: Hmm no, not really. Honestly I find it barbaric. It’s beneath people like me. Like Father. What can a single huntsman possibly do then that an army could not? That’s why we have one, even if it is run by a fool.

Weiss: Whitley! What are you doing out here? It’s too dangerous!

Winter: Weiss is right. You shouldn’t be here!

Whitley: But I want to help.

Winter: No! Weiss and I can handle this ourselves. You should stay where it’s safe.

Whitley:  NO! I can help. I…want to help! I’m a Schnee too! So let me fight beside you like any other Schnee.

Weiss: What happened to our abilities being barbaric or beneath you?

Whitley: Look, none of us are who we used to be anymore. We’ve all changed. I’ve changed. I know I’ve said some horrible things in the past. Did horrible things. Made a mockery of our legacy. But that was before I realized what it could do. What I can do.   If this power is mine then I wish to use it as I choose; and my choice is to stand by my family right here and now. If this is truly the end of the world then I want to fight! I want to fight by my sisters and fight to my last dying breath protecting our home. That’s why we’re huntsmen, right?

Winter: Well I’ll be damned. I thought I’d never see the day when Whitley Schnee says he wants to fight.

Weiss: Or calls himself a huntsman.

Whitley: What? I am and so are you.

Weiss: When did you become so selfless?

Whitley then smiled softly as an image of a young freckled farm boy with a beaming smile to match his heart of gold flashed in his memory.

Whitley: …Let’s just say…I had a very persistent friend who helped open eyes.

RWBY Squiggle Scripts #007: I Want You!

To my fellow Rosegardeners, not saying it’s a possibility but how would you guys honestly feel if the CRWBY Writers were to jump the gun and surprise the fandom by making RoseGarden canon in V6 finale? Hypothetically speaking.

Now I’m not saying there is a chance of this happening. This is all just---not even speculation. Just a fun little idea based on a thought I had. A RoseGarden themed vision where Ruby and Oscar professed their feelings in the V6 finale but it’s tailored in such a way that it doesn’t feel shoehorned---it actually feels quite natural given the circumstances of their relationship since Oscar’s introduction back in V5 while alluding to everything the two Rosebuds have been through this season and what’s to come moving forward. It’s not an on the nose type of scene but subtle enough that you get where the two are coming from; if that makes a lick of sense.

The best way I can describe this is to share the scene I depicted in my head. Picture this:

Remember this post I made early about a Potential RoseGarden moment for the V6 finale? After Oscar nearly kills him protecting Ruby from Grimmzilla fire with the Oz-cane’s magical barrier, professing his feelings in a daring move to protect the girl he cares deeply about; Ruby gets the inspiration she needs to summon her Silver Eyes to protect Argus and save the day.

If I had to theorize one thing it’s that once Ruby masters control of her Silver Eyes by the V6 finale, she won’t be as prone to falling unconscious from it as before. Then again I’m not sure how Ruby will be after taking out a giant ass Grimm again but…for the sake of this idea, let’s say…Ruby saves the day and though weakened, she’s still very conscious enough to reunite with Oscar who is right there to catch her exhausted body in his arms and help support his little rose back to her feet.

Despite just taking down a giant Grimm, Ruby being Ruby shows more concern for Oscar’s well-being than her own.

Oscar: Ruby.

Ruby: Oscar! Are you okay? Are you hurt?

Oscar: Am I hurt? You just took down a 50ft Grimm by yourself and you’re worried about me? How are you feeling?

Ruby: Like I can sleep for 50 years. But good.

Oscar: *chuckles but smiles in relief* Good. That was incredible! Ruby, you just saved this entire town. You’re a hero. I knew Silver Eyes were special but that ---you never cease to amaze me. You really are an extraordinary huntress.

Ruby shakes her head.

Ruby: No. I didn’t save Argus alone. We saved it together. All of us.

Oscar smiles at Ruby’s modesty and for a moment, the two share a gaze reminiscent of a certain couple from ancient times. Eventually Oscar breaks the trance by clearing his throat, doing his best to hide the deep blush forming on his cheeks and quell the loud thumping in his chest.

Oscar: A---Anyways. I’m just… really glad you’re okay.

Ruby: Are you sure you’re okay?

Oscar: I’ll live. Man with two souls, right? *tries to flex his shoulder only to wince from how sore it felt but still phones in a shaky yet confident smile for Ruby* Besides I grew up on a farm. I’m pretty used to---

But Oscar is cut off as Ruby does something she’s never done before. In that moment, Ruby closes the small distance between her and Oscar and pulls the young farm boy into a kiss. A legit kiss. Square on the lips. It’s a move so spontaneous that not only does it completely shock Oscar but Ruby herself as she immediately pulls back; realizing what she’d just done. Still, despite her flushed cheeks that were as red as her cape, Ruby shows no sign of regret for the leap she just made. Even as she returns her gaze to lock eyes with a stupefied Oscar Pine who is all kinds of stunned.

Oscar: *practically breathless*…Whoa…

Ruby: *blush deepening* I---I’m sorry!

Oscar: …That was…REALLY forward!

Ruby: *flustered* I know! I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have…

Oscar: *frantically* No! No! It’s fine! I just wasn’t expecting…

Ruby: …Well I thought since you said---before!

Oscar: Yeah no I just…I just…never figured you would…want…

Ruby: …You?

Oscar: *shyly* Yeah.

Ruby: *thoughtfully* Well…I do.

Oscar: Y---You do? Really?

Ruby: Well…uh…you are a bit young for me. And…old for me? *laughs lightly* But...I do. I want you.

Oscar: I want you too. Since day one. But… I don’t know how long you have…me.

Ruby: …Do I have you now?

Oscar: Yes.

Ruby: *smiles* Well, that’s all that matters.

Ruby reaches her hand out to Oscar. Slowly Oscar cracks a bright smile as he gladly takes Ruby’s hand, the two mimicking a gesture reminiscent of another pair of young lovers.

Oscar: What do we do now?

Ruby: Whatever we want.

And with that, Ruby and Oscar close the distance between them again and shared another kiss under the dawn of a new day---the day they helped save the People of Argus and fell deeply in love.

And scene. That’s the dream.

Now obviously. Obviously the CRWBY would not do this. Make RoseGarden canon for the V6 finale? There is no way. While I am anticipating some more major hints to confirm that a potential RoseGarden romance is in the making (especially if one of them involves Oscar protecting Ruby with the magic of the Oz-cane), I doubt the Writers will do anything like what happened in my depiction. I’m not entertaining this thought as a theory.

Just an idea that I thought would be cute. Who knows? Maybe something like this could happen for a future season? Or y’know, it’ll make for a nice fan comic or fanfiction idea until such a time comes.

Nevertheless…you guys should know this proud Rosegardening Pinehead of a squiggle meister by now. If I bring up any idea, it’s because I wanted to play around with it and toss it out to see if my fellow shippers like it.

RWBY Squiggle Scripts #006 : A Conversation between Two Weary Souls.

This theory post is dedicated to all the Ozpinheads wanting Ozpin to return for the finale. Although this squiggle meister is doubtful about everyone’s favourite Wizard of Light making a comeback for this season’s end, I wanted to raise you guys this possibility as I just thought about it.

What if…at some point between C12 going into 13, there comes a time when Oscar will need to use the full power of the Oz-cane. However Oscar doesn’t fully know how to unlock the full power of the cane nor use it; only Ozpin does. So someone, possibly Maria, encourages Oscar to go into his mind to get Ozpin back. I figured Maria would be the most likely since I’m not convinced the rest of the team has gotten over their initial anger towards Ozpin. Unlike the rest of the team, Maria is the least likely to be judgmental of Ozpin’s past actions as the others.  So Oscar gets the idea to try contacting Ozpin.

I remember a moment in Voltron: Legendary Defender between Keith and Shiro, during the time when Shiro was trapped in the Astral Plain and Keith wanted to connect with him because he needed to. Though I can’t recalled why Keith needed to reconnect with Shiro, what I took from that particular moment is Keith needing Shiro’s help in order to help save the other Paladins or something and continuously calling out his name until eventually Keith enters the Astral Plane where he finds Shiro’s wandering spirit waiting for him.

If Ozpin is to come back, somehow I picture it being a moment of desperation where Oscar wants and needs to help the team but he can’t do it unless he’s at his fullest. So imagine…Oscar closing his eyes and continuously calling out to Ozpin in hopes of reaching him deep within his mind. So Oscar keeps doing this until ultimately he connects with Oz and finds him.

Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone here. Perhaps we can have Ozpin show up for the finale while still having his Isolation Arc continued into the Atlas Arc. Imagine …Oscar confronting Ozpin and asking for help but Oz refuses.

What if…at some point in the finale, Oscar connects to Ozpin deep inside his mind and begs Ozpin to help him protect their friends and teammates. Unfortunately, Ozpin is rather reluctant in doing this because he doesn’t wish to be a burden to anyone anymore.

They don’t need him, he says. He’ll only make things worse for everyone, he says. They’re better off without him, he says in a depressed, hopeless tone so unfitting of the strong and righteous soul he used to be.

However Oscar is persistent. He does his best to convince Oz to help him. However fails . Even when Oscar extends his hand to Oz for the two souls to fight together---not against each other. Not Ozpin fighting for Oscar or Oscar retaining control. But both souls working together as one. One mind. One soul. One person.

However Ozpin remains stubborn and eventually, he and Oscar even begin to dispute as tension rises between them. Oscar trying to convince Ozpin to help while Oz is dogged on not helping would be an interesting parallel to nod back to V4 where Oscar used to be the unwilling one.

Oscar: I know mistakes have been made and I know things are messed up. But that’s not important right now. Innocent lives are at stake. People need our help. Our friends need our help so let’s help them. Fight with me Ozpin! Not you fighting for me but lending me your power so we can do this together as one. *extends his hand to Oz*

Ozpin: …You sound…just like Ms. Rose. *looks up at Oscar dejectedly* Another hopeless soul.

Oscar: *triggered and angry* How could you say that about Ruby? She believed in you and you believed in her. She was your spark.

Ozpin: Well maybe I was wrong about her too! About all of them. Another thing for me to regret.

Oscar: Stop talking like that! Stop talking like you’ve given up on everything! This isn’t you!

Ozpin: *whips around at Oscar angrily* Isn’t me? And what exactly do you know about me? Just because you’ve seen my pasts you think that gives you the right to talk as if you know me? What do you know about anything?  About pain? About loss? About regrets? About sacrifice?

Oscar: Sacrifice! What do I know? I gave up my entire life. My family. My home. For this! For you! For US because YOU made ME believe we were fighting for something worth giving our lives for!

Ozpin: *furious and advancing toward Oscar, backing him into a corner* And look how far that’s gotten you? You’ve been a huntsman for what? A month. You’re just a child! Me? I’m 1000 years old so don’t you dare think you have the right to lecture me! Look at you standing there shaking like a scared little boy. Who do you think you are?

Oscar: Who am I? *pauses before returning his gaze to Ozpin, determination clearly written on his face* My name…is Oscar Pine. I am a huntsman. And you’re right. I am scared but NOT for myself. My friends are out there fighting for their lives doing what you taught them to do. To protect humanity, giving it their all and I want to help them. To protect them!

But I can’t do it because I’m not strong enough. If you want to remain a coward then so be it. That’s your choice. But I want to fight and that’s my choice. So either you help me or give me the power so that I can do it myself!

Do you know how powerful it would be if we got a confrontation like this between Oscar and Ozpin. It’ll be evoking because it’s a call back to Oscar’s initial resilience back in V4 when he didn’t even wish to be a part of this.

Imagine if Oz ends up staying in isolation but revokes all magical powers and knowledge of the Oz-cane over to Oscar so that Oscar can walk out into the finale all great and powerful and bippity-boppity bust shit up!

That could be cool? Or perhaps Oscar actually convinces Oz to return with Oz being impressed at how much his younger protégé has matured in his absence and they fight as one for the first time---though they don’t merge.

The way how I see it, the Man with Two Souls narrative for the V6 finale can go one of the following ways:

Ozpin returns; fights for Oscar just like he did in V5 and all is forgiven in the group like this season never happened (honestly defeating the entire point of this season as a whole)

Ozpin returns, fights for Oscar but things are still tense and though the group has grown to accept Oscar as himself, they are still very distrusting of Ozpin. So Ozpin is forced to remain basically a prisoner of Oscar’s mind still, never resuming control since the others haven’t quite gotten over their anger towards him.

Ozpin returns; but he and Oscar merge for the finale becoming one person and fighting. So going forward into the Atlas Arc, Oscar is already merged with Ozpin and has changed a little bit as a result but the group accept him.

Ozpin returns; but he and Oscar merge for the finale becoming one person and fighting. So going forward into the Atlas Arc, Oscar is already merged with Ozpin but is still pretty much his old self so all the worry of him disappearing is finally debunked.

Ozpin returns; he and Oscar don’t merge but they fight as one person giving the audience a taste of what it looks like when the Two souls work as one. After the fight, Ozpin returns to his isolation; not quite ready to return only choosing to lend his power to Oscar for the finale.

Oscar communicates with Ozpin but Ozpin refuses to return; instead revoking all his magical powers and knowledge of the Oz-cane to Oscar so he can carry on the mantle at full strength though tension still remains between the two souls and the team as Ozpin remains in isolation---locking him even deeper inside Oscar’s mind in hopes that the boy never find him again.

Oscar doesn’t communicate with Ozpin at all for the finale; but unlocks the Oz-cane on his own and fights in the finale as himself with Ozpin’s presence only being seen in like the last few minutes of V6 or the V7 after credit scene.

There are other possibilities. Don’t just take my assumptions for it but these are my guesses.
