i think it's fun how morpheus is the only endless who's a king, as in a ruler of some territory and its people. yeah the other endless do have responsibilities and stuff but dream seems to be the only one who takes king as one of his "permanent" titles (if i remember right lol) which makes sense bc even tho every other endless does have a realm and stuff they're not really kingdoms like the dreaming is.

like the dreaming is a place that's populated by dreams and nightmares, and also the dreamers themselves. it has laws and geography (of a sort), etc. and while we don't see the other endless' realms too much in the comic they don't really seem to have the same organization as the dreaming. they def don't have subjects or anything, they mostly just seem to be "the place where the endless lives and does stuff". like yeah every endless is important and they're all the "rulers" of their respective aspects, so it's def possible they've all been referred to as monarchs or whatever at some point, and it wouldn't be inaccurate. but they don't seem to have the same expectations as dream.

i think this illuminates some stuff abt morpheus. we all know he's prideful, strict, etc. a lot of his characteristics make more sense when you think of them in terms of the fact that morpheus is literally a king. not saying the other endless don't have their own quirks and responsibilities. but maybe one of the reasons they're more chill then morpheus is bc none of them have the expectations (self inflicted or otherwise) that come w being a monarch. also makes you wonder if dream become a king because it was necessary (or he thought it was necessary) for the function of the dreaming? or did he decide he wanted to be a king and shape the dreaming around that expectation? (tbh i feel like it's the former bc he's so tired all the time but maybe it could've been a way of asserting control over everything?). or maybe it's neither of those things since the exact functioning of the endless is a complete mystery. whatever it is. i just think it's an interesting idea

always extremely conflicted about dreams style bc on one hand he's put together he's fashion forward he's subtle he's classy... on the other hand he's greasy and he hasn't showered in weeks and he's been wearing the same ratty shirt for five days straight even tho he definitely has an entire closets worth of those grey graphic tees...

i think i need him to not be greasy so i can put him in outfits. but it's hard bc of the fact that he's wearing robes and shit half the time like what's the 2022 equivalent. do i put him in a cardigan or. a maxi dress? that doesn't feel right. maybe a slip dress. w one of those cropped jackets w the fur trim on the cuffs and the collar...im pushing the dream outfit agenda
