Literally the only things that would happen if someone tries to use AI in the #Novella November and #NovellaNovember tags would be the writing community collectively:

attempting some outreach; education is key to realizing the harm being done, after all! Maybe the person just doesn't know any better, and felt like that was their only option to reach their goal.

blocking the person, and if they're actively malicious in their AI use (such as fully knowing how much it harms writers/artists, how much of it is based on plagarism, or actively going out of their way to steal other people's work) people will probably start warning others about them as well so they can be blocked in advance, the same as other people who are harmful to communities.

This is a community initiative, spearheaded by this blog purely because I came up with the idea first and want to make sure that, at least to start out and as long as I can manage it, the community is the key part of being supporting and caring of each other, because billion dollar tech companies and those who are swayed by their money sure as heck aren't going to stand with us.

first of all, your simblr is all up to you and how you want to customize it (tumblr theme, format of posts, etc)... just remember that you have total control over what you post and all that. ppl on here are usually very nice and welcoming so be free with your own creativity and what you think looks nice/makes YOU happy, no judgment!

you can grab inspiration from everyone here and incorporate that into your gameplay/simblr which i think is totally fine. you're kind of finding your own style in a way. don't straight up plagarize tho and claim someone else's work as yours :'|

taking screenshots is a little tough bc some things can enhance the way they look for example reshade/gshade, your in-game settings, and pretty much manually editing thru editing software which you kind of have to explore if it's for you or not.

how satisfied you are with your screenshots may change over time (ik mine did), so try to keep that in mind. it's a sign of growth!

actually taking the screenshots, i mainly follow the rule of balance in photos that i learned back in art class in high school. i try to make the picture interesting through different angles/perspectives that make the picture look full and not just have the focus only on one side (if that makes sense). symmetry is also good.

having good lighting is also good which you can get by in-game buydebug lights or just editing your pictures.

filters add a lot of character to screenshots, so use those to your liking.

try to zoom in as much as you can when you take pictures so that it looks less fish eye?? (i think thats the term) lol -> obviously this might not work if you're taking room-wide screenshots

no drift cam mod is a must if you want precise screenshots and dont have to fight the camera to sit on the spot you want it on ;^;

no camera fade for sims so your sims dont disappear while taking pictures LOL

Okay I. I'm just now realizing.

Several months ago, while vacationing with my friends, the topic of AI came up in discussion between me and one of my friends. We both knew each other's stance on AI going into it (me being adamantly against generative AI and him wholeheartedly supporting it and enjoying the use of it) and had discussed it before, so it was more a conversation of attempting to understand each other's viewpoint rather than change it.

At some point, the conversation turned to something that he, someone who rarely dabbles in the creative arts, had yet to realize, that art is about the process. Of course, for someone who loves coding and finding ways to cheat the system, the idea that the process of a work is the important part of the work was a foreign concept.

That discussion ties in a lot to this post. Most of my writer friends understand the concept of "plot bunnies," of writing one story concept only to come up with seven more, and while we complain and meme and joke about it, this is where a lot of our favorite story ideas come from— we couldn't write nearly as many stories if we weren't actively involved in the process of writing them in the first place.

What does generative AI do to this process? If we're not immersing ourselves in the stories we write— because we're not even writing them— will we still have as many ideas? If we're crowdsourcing to plagarism software for the processing of our ideas into stories, where on the assembly line do we fit in? Does each word resonate with our touch? Does our wrestle with writer's block create a deeper and richer story? Does our time spent marinating in these characters, themes, and ideas— time spent struggling alongside them, laughing and crying and rejoicing alongside them, growing alongside them as they do— does this break the dam of a wellspring of new ideas for the taking, for us to create, for us to continue this millennia old process of storytelling, handed down from one generation to the next?

AI Imagery such as deepfakes, I firmly believe both undermine the public's trust and also take credibility away from the public's trust. functionally, there are three main issues i see regarding the ethics of using Artificial Intelligences to generate images:

Many people who create prompts for AI image generation claim that they created the resulting image, which is not true. the image generated was created by either the developers of the software, the combined mass of all the artists that created art that trained the model, some combination of the two, or a secret fourth thing. ostensibly this is plagarism, which i condemn.

issue 3: Monetisation

Currently there is a lot of ambiguity about the legal status of AI generated content, but it seems like it is heading in the direction of "AI generated content cannot be copyrighted". i could see this continuing towards the sale of ai generated content more generally being illegal which, given the already dubious ethics of it, restrict its use, especially commercially.

ultimately, if you at least dont try and publish or claim it as your own work, i see no issue with its use personally, at is very useful in certain specific situations such as concept art and brainstorming
