This article was produced as part of JTA’s Teen Journalism Fellowship, a program that works with Jewish teens around the world to report on issues that affect their lives.
Sunday marked the 84th week of the Run for Their Lives walk in Plainview, New York, and I have attended about 50 of them. Over the past year, I never felt nervous during these walks meant to raise awareness for the hostages held in Gaza, knowing that my town has a large Jewish population and that we have the support of the local police.
However, last Sunday, I approached the march with a slight sense of fear. On June 3, a man tossed homemade fire bombs at a Run for Their Lives march in Boulder, Colorado, injuring 12 people. After the Boulder firebombing, many communities across the country faced a painful question: Should the walks continue?
When I arrived at the parking lot near the Plainview Shoprite where the Sunday morning Run for Their Lives walk began, I saw a heavy police presence: more than eight patrol cars and a state trooper securing the main road for the march.
What I hadn’t expected to see were crowds of people carrying Israeli flags and hostage posters: Despite the hate crime in Boulder, 150 people in my Syosset/Plainview chapter showed up for the weekly one-and-a-half mile walk. We ignored the police barricades and focused on our mission to call on the United States government and international leaders to bring the 55 remaining hostages home.
Through the 20-minute walk, I couldn’t stop thinking about the peaceful marchers in Boulder. Those walking with me spoke about the attack and how shocking the incident was. Every step felt like a meditation on what it means to be Jewish.
Fellow walkers, like college student Benjamin Handell, were thinking about the attack as well. He said that people in our community generally feel safe. “But I imagine Boulder felt safe, too, until last week,” Handell said.
Handell attends the walks whenever he is home from Tufts University. He felt that it was especially important to take part in Sunday’s walk. “I could not just stay home, after the news I knew I had to be at the walk and be with my Jewish community,” he said.
Whether he knew it or not, Handell was following the advice of my dad, Joel Levenson, the senior rabbi at Midway Jewish Center in Syosset. “We say today, as we always have: We will not cower.  We will not be silenced,” wrote Levenson in a post to Instagram last Friday. “We will run for their lives — and for our lives. We run with faith. We run with unity. We run with hope that cannot be extinguished…bring every hostage home — the living for rehabilitation, the deceased for a proper, dignified burial.”

In There Will Be Blood (2007) there is a relentless drive in Daniel Plainview.
The whole film is centred around his obsession for oil. But what does he ever achieve from it? Even after he succeeds, with his oil exploits, it doesn’t make him any happier. His seething addiction continues.
What I find makes this movie a great, is Plainview’s relationship with his son. The boy, who isn’t his real son.
The scene with Paul Dano in the church, where Dano’s character is basically getting his revenge on Plainview for beating him. He’s forcing him to admit his sins. And Plainview is only doing it to secure another pipeline.
But but but, what we see is a bit of real guilt where Plainview addresses what happens with his son. Because, Paul is demanded he say, “I abandoned my son.”
And Plainview does yell that, but then he goes:
“I abandoned my boy!”
It is interesting that there is a tiny bit of remorse and compassion in this awful man. Because, most awful people never admit that they were wrong. Though it’s forced out of Plainview, there is a glimmer of morality in there. That’s the way I interpreted it. Despite all of his horrific deeds, he had some kind of attachment with the little boy. And he regrets severing it.
A similar story happens with the man pretending to be his brother.
If you think about it – when he’s speaking to this other man, who isn’t his brother – it’s the only time when Plainview speaks on an emotional level. He’s trying to open up. And his non-brother isn’t quite able to respond to what he’s saying. He is not there to help out. Therefore, when Plainview finds out that the man was lying to him the whole time … well, we know what happens next.
Rather like Taxi Driver, we have, in this movie, a portrait of a man, wherein we know little of where he came from, or how he got to this point in the present day. We know little about the man’s background.
Although we have that opening montage of Plainview when he is drilling for oil from scratch when he’s a younger man, there is no dialogue in the first fifteen minutes of the movie. We don’t get to know what he’s like. Then the narrative skips forward several years, and we see what seems like a plush, confident business man. After which, we see complete madness and a deranged self-determination that never resolves his issues.
It's a fantastic film. I reckon it highly open to interpretation, and Plainview as a character the force behind that main theme.

Thelreads, MHA 289, Replies Part 1
1) “True despair be upon those kids, on Chapter 289: Miss Candid and Miss Shut-away
alright what the fuck is that title
horikoshi? Hori- Don’t ignore me, what the fuck is that title-“- Two girls having a conversation, each not really getting enough about the other to truly understand where they’re coming from, in turn only deepening the misunderstanding and conflict between them.
2) “Meanwhile, let’s see Hadou and Ida rushing towards the epicenter of death, even though Ida very clearly was not invited for the party. Look man, if you get turned into dust I’m blaming it solely on you.”- He’s arguably the best one for swiftly transforming the injured out of the danger Zone, whilst Izuku and the rest work to keep Tomura from widening that Danger zone even more.
3) “Yeah but considering the main one is midoriya and the lesson he always gives is “destroy yourself to save others” I have a feeling this won’t end that well for you.”- Iida unintentionally throwing Bakugo under the bus, though I suppose you could say Bakugo teaches others what to do by demonstrating the opposite response to social niceties.
4) “Shoto is there and he confirmed officially we’re still not free from Bakugo, but let’s see how that development goes until the end of the chapter, we already have a few graves open by the side, it would be terrible to waste them.”- I’m impressed Shoto didn’t touch down to lighten his load a little before grabbing Izuku. You know it’s gotta be harder for him to fly when he only has a single jet thruster to work with.
5) “JESUS FUCKING CHRIST SHIGARAKI
OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK
IT’S BEEN QUITE SOME TIME SINCE YOU DID SOMETHING THAT HORRIFYING GOOD LORD”- Ok, let’s just be honest here. If/When Izuku figures out how to control Black Whip to a similar degree, he;s gonna be pulling the exact same stunt, using tendrils directly controlled by his willpower to puppet his broken body to keep fighting. Their final clash will look like somebody putting on the world’s most intense Puppet show.
6) “Oh you two already got here? alright
Miss Uzumaki and dash-dabbing are here to save the day and hopefully not join the row of graves right out of view”-Honestly, getting some fresh meat in the grinder here gives Izuku and the rest some breathing room before they join in, and they all need that. Tomura doesn’t give a crap about down-time, but the heroes need to be prioritising their health and wellbeing for the sake of the endangered civilians they’ve gotta rescue in the aftermath of all this.
7) “oh you mean that thing that is just there in plainview, approaching at the speed of mach-fuck who will be here in less than two minutes Ida? thank you two, what would we be with that mail office”- Well, not like Izuku’s been able to check his smartphone for the latest news events when Tomura/AFO has been hounding him like Mr X on a bad day.
8) “HO HO HO HADOU IS FUCKING PISSED RIGHT NOW
I HAVE A FEELING SOMEONE IS ABOUT TO MEET A WORLD OF PAIN”- If I recall right, Ryuko was also Hadou’s mentor figure during the internships, so she’s doubly angry at seeing her so messed up at Tomura’s hands. 9) “I HAVE A FEELING THAT’S AFO AGAIN
SEEMS LIKE HE MANAGED TO GET CONTROL FOR A FEW INSTANTS, WHICH MEANS WE’RE ABOUT TO GO FOR ROUND TWO UNTIL SHIGARAKI TAKE THE WHEEL AGAIN”- It’s honestly really hard to tell who’s in the driver’s seat, but in general, whenever “Tomura” starts getting mean and disparaging towards his enemies, that’s the cue that AFO’s in command 10) “Uraraka is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, but Toga is a master of dodging, which means this is gonna take a while, at least until Machia run them over. I’m surprised Uraraka even managed to tap her clothes like that.”- If not for last chapter’s extra segment, I’d have almostthough Toga put in the time to get clothes on so Uraraka couldn’t float her easily, almost like a shield. Instead, I now know it’s because the PR department didn’t want a mostly-naked girl fight and the bad press that’d have brung. 11) “oh my god is toga baring her soul and trying to explain to Uraraka why she acts the way she does? What she thinks, what she feels, but Uraraka here is more concerned with taking her down for the safety of all?Horikoshi, what have I done to be hurt like this?”- It’s honestly not that different from Curious’ own “interview” with her, with one side given their opinion of Toga’s actions and her perception amidst the public, whilst the other furiously brushes off what they’re saying on the surface in favour of fighting them. The difference is, Last time it was Toga who was focusing on the fight, due to her dislike of Curious and her giving a biased viewpoint of her actions with a political intent to spin them to further the MLA’s cause, whereas this time, she’s the one genuinely expressing herself in private to somebody she likes, and that person isn’t getting the hint.
12) “Oh, was it Mina’s cousin, the blue lady that went splat? Yeah I recall that. I wonder how Uraraka will react knowing it was her power that killed her. Not that well I assume.”- Toga bringing up Curious furthers the parallel, because it’s clear she’s thinking back of that conversation as the last time she “opened up” to an outsider besides the league, and unfortunately it’s going about as swimmingly. @thelreads

Looking for a Chemical Peel Near Plainview? Here’s What You Need to Know
Tumblr media
Understanding Chemical Peels
For those exploring options to refresh and rejuvenate their skin, chemical peels remain one of the most effective cosmetic treatments. Whether you're dealing with acne scars, fine lines, uneven skin tone, or dull texture, a Chemical Peel Near Plainview can help you achieve noticeable improvements in your skin’s appearance. This treatment uses a chemical solution to exfoliate and peel off the top layers of the skin, revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion beneath.
Types of Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are classified into three main types based on their depth:
Superficial Peels: These use mild acids like alpha-hydroxy acid to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of skin. They are ideal for minor skin concerns and require little to no downtime.
Medium Peels: Often using trichloroacetic acid, medium peels target the middle layers of the skin and are suitable for treating wrinkles, pigmentation, and acne scars.
Deep Peels: These penetrate several layers of skin and use stronger acids such as phenol. Deep peels offer dramatic results but involve a longer recovery time.
Each type of peel has specific benefits, and the right one for you will depend on your skin type, concerns, and desired outcome.
What to Expect During the Procedure
Before starting the peel, your provider will clean your skin thoroughly and may apply a topical anesthetic, especially for deeper treatments. The chemical solution is then applied to the skin and left for a designated time, depending on the depth of the peel.
During the application, you might feel a tingling or stinging sensation. After the solution is neutralized and removed, your skin may appear red or feel tight. This reaction is normal and usually subsides within a few hours to days. For more info Click here.
Recovery and Aftercare
Post-treatment care is essential for achieving the best results and minimizing complications. After a peel, your skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure, so wearing a high-SPF sunscreen is critical. Moisturizers can help soothe dryness and promote healing.
In the days following the procedure, you may experience flaking or peeling, particularly with medium and deep peels. It’s important not to pick or peel the skin manually, as this can cause scarring.
Hydration, gentle cleansing, and sun protection are key during the recovery phase. Avoiding harsh skincare products like retinoids or exfoliants until your provider gives the green light will also help prevent irritation.
Who is a Good Candidate?
Chemical peels can benefit a variety of skin types and conditions. However, certain factors determine whether the treatment is right for you:
Skin tone and type: Those with lighter skin tones tend to respond more predictably to chemical peels, though newer formulations and careful planning can make peels safe for darker complexions as well.
Skin conditions: People with active infections, eczema, or very sensitive skin may need to avoid peels or choose gentler alternatives.
Expectations: Peels can significantly improve skin texture and tone, but they are not a one-time fix. Some individuals may require multiple sessions for optimal results.
Always consult with a licensed and experienced provider to evaluate your skin’s needs and ensure the treatment is appropriate.
Benefits of Getting a Peel
Chemical peels offer a wide range of advantages for those looking to enhance their skin’s health and appearance:
Improved Skin Texture: Regular treatments can help smooth rough patches and create a more even surface.
Reduced Acne and Scarring: Peels clear out pores and reduce inflammation, making them especially helpful for acne-prone skin.
Diminished Fine Lines: Especially with medium or deep peels, wrinkles and fine lines can become less noticeable.
Brighter Complexion: By removing dead skin cells, peels reveal a fresher, more radiant layer underneath.
Even Skin Tone: Hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and melasma can fade with consistent treatment over time.
Preparing for Your Appointment
To get the most from your peel, preparation is important. You may be advised to:
Discontinue retinoids or acne treatments a few days in advance.
Avoid waxing or other hair removal methods on the treatment area.
Stay out of the sun to reduce the risk of post-treatment pigmentation.
It’s also helpful to have realistic expectations. Your provider should discuss the potential outcomes, risks, and timeline for results before your first session.
Risks and Side Effects
As with any cosmetic procedure, chemical peels come with some potential side effects:
Redness and Irritation: Mild redness is common and usually resolves within days.
Peeling and Dryness: Skin may flake or peel as part of the healing process.
Infection or Scarring: Rare but possible, particularly if aftercare guidelines are not followed.
To minimize risks, always seek treatment from a trained professional and follow all aftercare instructions carefully.
How Often Should You Get a Peel?
The frequency of chemical peels depends on the type used and your skin’s response. Superficial peels can be done every few weeks, while medium peels might be spaced out by months. Deep peels are often performed only once due to their intensity.
Your skincare provider will help you design a schedule that aligns with your goals and skin health, ensuring you see continued improvements without over-exfoliating.
Finding the Right Provider
Choosing the right provider is essential for a safe and effective experience. Look for someone with:
Credentials and certification in dermatology or medical aesthetics.
Experience performing a range of chemical peels.
A clean, professional treatment environment.
Positive reviews and before-and-after results from previous clients.
An initial consultation can help you feel confident in your decision and clarify any concerns.

This is one of those types of matches you will literally only see in an MPW ring. Two of the top generational talents on their respective sides of the brackets collided for the first, and likely only, time ever, with the top prize in professional wrestling, the MPW World Championship, on the line. While this is not Roman’s first go at the belt, it is his first since his debut match. A match in which Heyman, specifically, brought Roman in for. His ultimate weapon used to bring down the 44OH!, and stop their nearly year long reign of terror - and now, Heyman is walking to the ring with that same devil. A different face, a different name, but Heyman is walking out here with MJF tonight. MJF has been his golden ticket in MPW, both for his own personal gain, and for the gain of the entire company. It’s impossible to deny what MPW’s title reign has done for MPW. PPV sales are up, every arena is packed to the brim, with some of the biggest main events, biggest shows, in this company’s history coming at the hands of MJF - whether you love him or hate him, that’s an undeniable fact. But despite this, Heyman doesn’t look very confident. He looks downright uncomfortable. His eyes are red and puffy, dark circles, and he can’t meet Roman’s eyes. Heyman stays outside of the ring as MJF marches inside, completely brushing past Roman, to mock our lively, Vegas audience. Roman looks down at his Wiseman, but Paul’s eyes stay on the floor. Heyman has been Roman’s Wiseman for five years now. They’ve broken records, shattered ceilings. But even more than that, Roman is family. And now, Heyman won’t look him in the eye. Roman purses his lips, turning to look at MJF, as the champion marches up to him. Our cameras can’t pick up what he says, but MJF is already jacking his jaw, and holds up the title in Roman’s face. Roman just smirks and returns to his corner.
“It’s now time for your main event! Ladies and gentlemen, this will be a singles bout, scheduled for one fall, and it is for the MPW World Championship!” Steve Guy pauses, letting the moment settle in, before he continues, “Introducing first, the challenger.” And they lose it. The sound of their cheers seems to startle MJF a bit, while Reigns soaks it in.
“From the Island of Relevancy, he is the Head of the Table, the Tribal Chief, ROMAN REIGNS!”
“And his opponent,” and, oh, how the mood shifts, “Being accompanied to the ring by his special counsel, the Savant, Paul Heyman. Fighting out of Plainview, New York, and representing The Devil’s Trick, he is the reigning, defending, MPW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Freidman, MJF!”
Senior referee, Bryce Remsburg, is on the call for tonight’s colossal main event. MJF takes some extra time with the gold, as if committing it to memory, before he passes it on with what could be one, final kiss, before Remsburg presents it to the challenger and crowd alike. He passes it onto the timekeeper’s area, and calls for the bell! Our main event has officially begun! The room was already electric the moment Reigns’s music hit, but that ding cemented it. This once in a lifetime match was happening right here, for free. This is on cable TV, folks, no payment required. But for the first time since MJF walked out here, his smirk begins to falter. Reigns is ready to go, but MJF doesn’t exit his corner for a long, long moment. He starts to walk forward, wiping his hands against his trunks. But before they even get close, MJF slips through the ropes. He shakes his head, hands on his hips, as he paces the outside. Roman stays in the ring, watching Max’s every move. He paces outside of the ring. MJF looks over at Heyman, perhaps trying to get some guidance, some words of encouragement, but Heyman just shakes his head. If anybody knows the type of beast Roman is, it would be Heyman, but either he can not help MJF, or he’s unwilling to. Which one it is, we may not know, but the lack of support is clearly getting under MJF’s skin. So he stalls. He crawls in, just to vacate back to the floor. He’s buying time, either for himself, or to test Roman’s temperament. But he’s not going to get Roman to crack. They’ve got sixty minutes on the clock, and once this match gets going, it’s not going to take Roman that long to finish this.
Back inside the ring, MJF finally squares up to Roman, but he fakes Reigns out, and traps him in a side headlock. MJF brings Reigns to his knees, trying to wear down the Tribal Chief, but Reigns brings them to the ropes and pushes MJF off. MJF rebounds, and Reigns lays him out with a back elbow! Reigns is oozing confidence as he knocks down the champion with an ease and smoothness one can only find in the Roman Reigns experience. MJF looks a little startled, but he gets to his feet, and they tie up a second time. Reigns takes control with a side headlock, easily overpowering MJF. MJF pushes Reigns off the ropes, and on the rebound, Reigns knocks him down AGAIN, knocking MJF down with a shoulder tackle. Reigns moves to the ropes, but MJF slides under his feet. Reigns off the ropes, and MJF jumps for a leapfrog, but he’s caught! Reigns has his arms wrapped around MJF’s waist, holding him in a belly to belly, but MJF counters out of it, bringing them to the mat, and going right for the Salt of the Earth! MJF wastes little time tonight, but Reigns fights it off, and rolls out. They square up, hunting for another lock up - but MJF kicks Reigns between the legs! There are no rules in MPW title matches, and MJF just used that to his full advantage! Whether you love it or hate it - and by the sound of the crowd, we bet it was the latter - MJF just scored a big advantage over the Tribal Chief in the early goings here. With two middle fingers for the crowd, MJF tells them just what he thinks of their little booing, and makes a very lewd gesture towards them, before he grabs control of Roman’s wrist. MJF begins his attack with an armbreaker, slamming Roman’s arm across his shoulder, before he turns around, and throws Reigns to the mat with an arm wringer! He takes an uncomfortable landing on the shoulder, as MJF has taken quick control over this match up. The fans can’t believe it, and they’re certainly upset about it, but their boos only fuel MJF on. He straddles Roman’s arm… and uses it like a third leg. Welp. It seems like we’re doing that tonight.
You’d think in a match as dire as this, with such a dangerous predator circling his throne, MJF would at least pretend to take this seriously. But MJF is gloating like he’s already won. Roman sits up, muttering to himself, “This motherfucker didn’t just-” And then, he’s fuming. Roman is pissed, and MJF unknowingly turns around in an uppercut, Reigns jabbing MJF right under the jaw! “You think this is a game?!” He stumbles back, Reigns right behind him, barking at MJF, “Is this shit a game to you?!” MJF catches him with a back elbow! Roman doubles over, holding his jaw, the other one the ropes. MJF jumps off the second rope, and nails the right arm with a double stomp! MJF takes out Reigns’s dominant hand, and keeps up the pressure, twisting it into a hammerlock, and dropping knees onto the elbow, the bicep, before just stomping and grinding on it. MJF switches into a keylock, keeping the pressure on Roman’s arm. While some could consider MJF a bit more technically sound, Roman is no stranger to grappling, and his strength advantage has him back on his feet and on the ropes, where MJF keeps him pinned, slowly releasing at the referee’s request. MJF slowly leans back - before nailing Reigns with a right hand! MJF with another cheap shot, and he immediately takes advantage, dropping Reigns with another brutal arm wringer! MJF is going to do everything and anything in his power to keep hold of the title tonight, and if he can keep it up, he may just do it!
MJF lifts Reigns up, and crunches his shoulder up, with a butterfly shoulder breaker! Reigns sits up, clearly in agony, and MJF knocks him down with a Superkick! MJF grabs both legs, folding up Reigns to retain!
1… 2 - Kickout!
Reigns powers out a lot easier than MJF expects. He sits there for a moment, a flash of panic in his eyes, but that’s quickly replaced by the confidence he displayed earlier in the match. “You’re not unbeatable.” He stands, trying to loom over Roman, as Reigns starts to sit up. MJF ‘kicks’ Roman in the jaw, but it’s barely even a kick. A mere shove, to keep Roman in his place. “You’re just overbooked,” MJF hits a right hand to Roman’s temple, but Roman sits back up. MJF lets go with rapid fire kicks, knocking Reigns down, before MJF runs the ropes - and gets planted by a Samoan Drop! Reigns leans back, making the cover!
1… 2… - Kickout!
A surprisingly late kick out by MJF, but it seems that Reigns can smell that blood in the water, as he’s setting up for a Superman Punch! With the fist cocked and loaded, he puts the champion in his crosshairs. Reigns shoots forward - but MJF grabs the arm, and drops him right on his shoulder! MJF just blocked the Superman Punch with another brutal arm wringer! Roman groans as MJF lifts him up, twisting up Roman’s arm, before connecting with another armbreaker, slamming it against his shoulder. As MJF goes for another, Reigns clubs him in the back of the head, using his left arm to shove MJF to the ropes. Roman shakes off the cobwebs before going after, but MJF throws him to the floor! Quickly, MJF hits the ropes, looking for a Tope Suicida - but he’s caught! Reigns catches him, and tosses MJF with a HUGE belly to belly suplex! MJF gets planted in front of the announcer’s table, and he hits the ground with a firm thud, landing right on his back! MJF can be heard yelling, “oh, god,” over and over as he crawls away, clutching his tailbone. Heyman’s head is in his hands as he watches Reigns slink back. Leaning on a knee, Reigns is definitely favoring the arm after all it’s been through, but there’s a different look in his eyes. He’s locked in, ascending up to that higher level, and he’s looking to take MJF out permanently. Reigns gets running, full steam ahead - but MJF moves! Reigns dove in for the Spear, and CRASHES into the barricade! Roman hits hard enough that he breaks the damn thing! Reigns almost spills into the crowd, but MJF is quick to throw him back into the ring! MJF folds him up deep to steal it!
1… 2… Kickout!
Reigns survives! But it may not be for long, as MJF sets him up, and delivers a pump handle Half Nelson Driver! Roman is stacked up, MJF looking to retain!
1… 2… Kickout!
MJF gets in Remsburg’s face, but his temper tantrum is short-lived. He’s trying his best to keep hold of that composure he clings so fiercely to. It may be his only way to stay in control of this match. If it starts to slip, if he loses control, Roman will be right there to take it back. Roman begins to sit up, and MJF scowls down at him, “You think you’re better than me?” before he slaps Roman across the face. “It took you three years and five cousins just to beat Jey Uso. All I needed was a microphone to change this entire industry.” And MJF slaps him again. The second one stings more, creating a sharper sound, but it doesn’t even phase the Tribal Chief. “This is MY yard, bitch, and here you ain’t shit-” Roman stands up, and slaps the taste out of MJF’s mouth! MJF falls back, practically crying, as he holds his jaw. Cheek already starting to blossom with Roman’s handprint. But as Roman goes after him, MJF is suddenly a-okay, and drops Roman with an arm DDT! Dropping Reigns once again, and MJF struts, as Roman crawls into the corner. MJF turns around and punches Reigns down, before sinking his teeth into Roman’s forehead, trying to bite it off! When he stops, MJF picks Roman up, and puts him on the top turnbuckle. MJF climbs to the top, standing on the top rope as he takes a handful of Roman’s hair. He looks out at the crowd, this smug smirk on his face, before he thrusts his pelvis into Roman’s face. He’s got the Tribal Chief right where he wants him, but MJF can’t help himself but to rub it in (almost literally). He leaps for the hurricanrana - but Reigns holds on! He lifts MJF back up, and with a loud, “OH SHIT!” from MJF, Roman plants him with a MASSIVE avalanche Powerbomb! He’s got MJF stacked up, and it could steal it here!
1… 2… KICKOUT!
A close kickout from MJF there, but he’s staying in the fight. He crawls to the ropes, holding his back as he leans on them, as Reigns stands over him, telling MJF to bring it. It seems the Tribal Chief hasn’t had enough yet, and MJF does his best with a knife edge chop. There’s a sharp sound to it, a stinging feeling, we’re sure, but Reigns isn’t bothered by it. He asks for more, before nailing MJF in the temple with a big right hand. MJF throws back a chop. “Is that all you got, little man?” MJF nails another chop, but Roman starts to laugh. Another chop. “I said - is that all you got-” MJF lands another chop, but this time, Roman throws one back! A few more right hands by Reigns, but MJF comes back with a kick - it’s caught! Roman caught the kick, but as MJF starts to beg off, he thumbs Roman in the eyes! MJF runs the ropes, but Roman nails him with a boot! MJF stumbles, but he comes back with a huge rolling elbow, stunning Reigns! MJF heads to the ropes, but Reigns ducks the clothesline and runs the ropes himself. MJF ducks under him and runs the ropes, but Reigns bounces off the ropes a second time, and FLOORS MJF with a Superman Punch! That came out of nowhere, as Roman scores a huge advantage over the champion! He shakes the ropes, fed by the intensity of the fans, finally seeing MJF swept off his feet, and now, Roman has MJF, and the World title, locked in his sights. He’s setting up for the Spear - but MJF catches him, and turns it into an inside cradle!
1… 2… - KICKOUT!
Roman BARELY escapes! But MJF immediately moves into the Salt of the Earth! He’s got it locked in! MJF has expertly picked apart that arm all night, and now, he could be on the verge of doing what nobody has made Roman Reigns do in a very, very long time, and make him tap out! By the agony on Roman’s face, it looks like he may just have to! If he does, we’ll never hear the end of it from MJF - but Roman leans back, and folds MJF up on his shoulders!
1… 2… Kickout!
MJF sacrifices the submission to keep this match alive, and scrambles back to his feet. He sidesteps Roman, sending him through the ropes, before catching him with a knee! Without wasting any time, MJF jumps up, and SPIKES Roman with the Heatseeker! MJF might’ve actually done it! He could beat Reigns right here! Deep cover on Reigns!
1… 2… - KICKOUT!
That came down to the wire, but Roman keeps the match alive! MJF can’t believe it! He sits up, and, oh god, is he crying? He looks like he’s on the verge of tears, as the crowd loses it, the Tribal Chief still has a chance! And that pushed him over the edge.
“This is the person you dumb idiots cheer for? This piece of shit?” MJF yells, “What does he have? Manufactured charisma, spoon-fed success. Roman Reigns is just another product of a racist billionaire, in a bloodline of nepotism! He has had EVERYTHING handed to him, while I have worked blood, sweat, and tears into building this good for nothing company from the ground UP -” SUPERMAN PUNCH! Roman just punched MJF’s lights out! He doesn’t know where he is right now, but MJF is on his feet, and he gets FLATTENED by a MASSIVE Spear from Reigns! This is it! We have a new champion!
1… 2…
SOLO PULLS ROMAN OUT OF THE RING!
We’ll never know if MJF would’ve kicked out or not, but it doesn’t matter! Solo pulls Reigns out of the ring! They lock eyes, Reigns shaking his head in disbelief, before the two come to blows! Rapid fire forearms, taking out their mutual anger, their issues with each other, before Solo nails a headbut! Reigns stumbles, but he takes down Sikoa with a Superman Punch! Down goes Sikoa, but Eric Taylor is running down the ramp! Roman’s celebrating with the crowd, so he doesn’t see it at first, but as Eric comes down the ramp, he gets Speared in half by Reigns! Eric gets hit so hard, he does a flip! Reigns is FIRED UP, and he could be zeroing in on his first piece of MPW gold!
MJF spins Reigns around - but Roman grabs his arm! MJF was seconds away from knocking Reigns out cold with the Dynamite Diamond ring, but Reigns catches the arm before he can! He looks at MJF for a moment, an incredulous look on his face, before Roman takes off the ring, and nails MJF with a headbutt! MJF stumbles back, and Roman knocks him down with a clothesline! He kneels, clutching the arm, as he watches MJF, scowl seemingly implanted into his face, but there’s something different in his eyes. There comes a point in a match when the clock winds down, his opponent is breathing too heavy, too sluggish, and Roman locks in. It’s a look Heyman has seen many, many times before, but this is the first time he’s responded with fear.
Reigns stomps MJF, and keeps him down with a headbutt. He shakes out the arm, trying to work feeling back into it, before he grabs MJF with a front facelock. Roman lifts him up, and plants MJF with a suplex! He floats into the cover, raking his arm across MJF’s face.
1… 2… Kickout!
With a handful of MJF’s hair, Roman pulls him into a chinlock, holding the champion down. Wearing him down, slowing down the heart beat, the flow of adrenaline, while cutting off the blood flow. MJF rises, trying to find a way to overpower Reigns, but Roman switches into a cravat, keeping up the pressure on MJF’s head and neck, before dropping him with an uppercut! A brutal shot to the throat, and MJF goes down hard. Whatever bravado he came into this match with is definitely gone, as he’s left gasping for breath, muttering curses under his breath as Reigns stalks him, never taking his eyes off his prey, before picking MJF up, and shoving him into the corner with a chop. Roman nails him with a series of brutal, hard hitting clotheslines, but as much as they hurt MJF, Roman has to use the bad arm to deliver them. It’s a losing effort, in the end, but Roman pulls MJF into a half hatch, nailing him several brutal knees to the gut, before just tossing him across the ring. Throwing MJF like he weighed nothing, and now, Roman’s setting up for the end. It’s been a nice run, but Roman’s done playing this game. As Roman goes for the Spear, MJF rolls out of the ring! He leans against the apron, taking a much needed rest. Ever since Roman ran through his interference, MJF has taken a beating. And it’s only about to get worse, as Roman nails him with a Drive By! Dropkick right on the side of MJF’s head, and he never saw it coming! MJF is out on his feet, but Roman picks him up, and nails MJF with clothesline after clothesline, beating his chest raw, and crushing his back against the edge of the ring. MJF is limp, falling to his knees, when Roman throws him back into the ring. Roman slides into the corner, one hand on the mat, looking down at MJF. Slowly, Roman rises, the champion in his crosshairs. Roman throws his head back, and with the sound of the whole crowd behind him -
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
Roman shoots forward, and he cuts MJF IN HALF with a MASSIVE Spear! MJF gets turned inside out, and this has gotta be it! Roman’s ended the reign of terror!
1… 2… - KICKOUT!
That was close as you could get to three without the bell ringing, but somehow, MJF gets the shoulder up with a heartbeat to spare. Still, MJF does it, and Reigns is clearly ticked off. He pushes MJF to the mat and lays down a pure ass whopping. Forearms are dropped like bombs on MJF’s throat, his chest, his jaw, anything Roman can reach until MJF is lifeless. His arms limp, shaking from the vibrations of Roman’s powerful hits, but he isn’t moving anymore. Roman stands up, lifting MJF off the mat, and Roman plants him with a Powerbomb! But he isn’t done! Roman deadlifts him a second time, and plants him with a second Powerbomb! MJF is just being ragdolled by the Tribal Chief now! And now, Roman turns him over, with the Guillotine Choke locked in! If MJF isn’t going to stay down, Roman’s going to choke him out!
MJF flails, desperately reaching out for the ropes, or maybe even his savant for assistance, but he finds none. MJF is on his own here, but he’s able to get his feet under him. He slides out of the Guillotine, and into a cross armbar! What a counter by MJF, as he tries to get back in the fight, but it’s for nought. Roman sits up, pushing Max onto his back once again, and beats him down. Raining down shot after shot. Relentless, painful, before Roman deadlifts him again, and connects with a third Powerbomb! The strength of the Tribal Chief is unmatched, and tonight, it could be the Devil’s undoing!
Still, the damage done to the arm has been a major detour in Roman’s plan, as he’s seen favoring it, resting against the ropes as MJF stares up at the lights. It’s a miracle he’s even able to move, but MJF is stirring. “You better stay down, son,” and Roman knocks him down with a right hand. MJF is rocked by it, but as Roman goes to grab him, MJF responds with a kick - but he’s caught! And again, MJF pokes him in the eyes! MJF takes a moment before running the ropes - SUPERMAN PUNCH! MJF gets caught! He’s on roller skates, and Roman knocks him down with a second Superman Punch! MJF finally goes down, and he might be out cold! He certainly doesn’t know where he is right now. There’s a glossy look in his eyes, as he struggles to sit up. But Roman is locked and loaded. He cocks his fist, and slams it into the mat. He’s going for one more Superman Punch, one more Spear, and this is over.
But then, Roman sees the ring.
He picks it up, and slides it onto his pinky. The cherry on top. A Superman Punch with the Dynamite Diamond ring, an artifact that scored MJF many victories in his time at the top, is now going to be what seals his fate. But as Roman jumps for it, MJF ducks! Roman whips around and goes after MJF again, but MJF kicks out his leg - and Heyman rips off the turnbuckle padding! Roman falls face first onto the exposed steel turnbuckle! He might be out cold! MJF rolls him up! Not like this!
1… MJF has his feet on the ropes, and Heyman’s holding them for extra leverage! 2… 3!
“Here is your winner, and still MPW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF.”
Wow.
It looked like Heyman was on the fence the entire time, torn between the two men he held very near and dear to his wallet. But that was premeditated. Paul Heyman had made his bed long before the curtains opened tonight, and once again, Paul Heyman has chosen to pad his pockets over family. And once again, the Devil remains your MPW World Champion.
And now, Solo Sikoa, Bayley, and Alex Shelley join MJF in the ring, as the Devil’s Trick stand tall once again, closing out the doors on another exciting Collective weekend. This isn’t the way we wanted it to end, but the Devil’s Trick’s grip on MPW is iron tight, and it’s going to take everyone working together to take back the World Championship, and arguably, the very essence of MPW.
But someone just jumped the barricade! It’s Riley! Covered in dried blood and bandages, Riley jumps off the top rope, bringing down both Solo Sikoa and Alex Shelley with a double DDT! Both men get dropped on their heads! Riley jumps up and ducks under Bayley, before hitting a Tiger Feint reversal through the ropes, before clobbering Bayley with a spinning back heel kick! Bayley gets knocked on the side of the jaw, and tumbles out of the ring! It’s just Riley and MJF now! She smirks at him, and MJF is FUMING. He mutters, “You stupid bitch-” as he throws down the title. They go right at each other, trading rapid fire forearms! Eventually, MJF starts to get an advantage, but Riley pops off a Ghost Trigger instead, knocking MJF down! He leans against the ropes as Riley runs them, crashing into MJF with another Ghost Trigger, crushing him against the ropes!
MJF is out on his feet as Riley draws him back to the center of the ring, and plants him with the Godkiller! MJF gets spiked, and Riley takes out the World Champion!
Paul Heyman quickly collects his golden goose, and the World Championship, and quickly high tail it out of the arena, leaving Riley standing tall in the ring. She jumps the barricade and into the crowd as we set up for our main event! Stay tuned!

Chapter 1 - A New Start, An Old Place
WARNING: THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS ELEMENTS OF DRUG USAGE, TOXIC FAMILIES, GRAPHIC DEPICTIONS OF DEAD ANIMALS, AND DISTURBING CONTENT. READERS DISCRETION IS ADVISED
It was late at night in the town of Plainview Heights, inside one of the many houses on Maple Street laid a teenager wide awake. She had beautiful natural white, blonde hair and beautiful dark brown skin that often shined in the natural sunlight of the town. Her eyes were beautiful shades of ambers and golds, and her pupils had a strange shape. Instead of the normal oval shaped pupils, they were shaped like old scales you would see in courtrooms. She
er social medias; she followed many topics on them, but her main topic was old folklore and ghost stories. They seemed to entrance her, from the intricately told stories of gods worshipped long ago, to the much more recently told folklore of haints and haunts.
Soon, she had noticed what time it was, almost 2:30 am. She sighed and slowly shut off her cell phone, putting her phone on the charger and then laying it on her nightstand. It seemed she had just shut her eyes when her mother burst into her room, already seemingly angry at something, "CATERINA WAKE UP!" Her mother screeched at her daughter causing her to swiftly jump out of bed. "HOW STUPID ARE YOU!? I TOLD YOU TO BE UP AT FOUR AND HERE YOU ARE STILL IN BED!" The woman shouted at Cat, her mother, Alyssa looked nothing like her daughter. Alyssa had pale white skin that often caused her problems in the heavy summer sun. She had naturally red hair that was always frizzing up and her eyes resembled that of sharp sapphires. Alyssa was a short tempered, narcissistic, toxic person that couldn't stand to see her eldest daughter have a lick of happiness.
Caterina sighed as her mother left the room, hoping to all above that her mother didn't hear her; She didn't. Soon, Caterina was throwing her bag together, inside were 7 shirts, 7 pairs of pants, A dress that she hated to wear, it felt like sandpaper to Caterina, some toiletries, and some other items you'd usually take on road trips. The most important thing though, was an old moth plushie that her Aunt Vaggie got her before her death in 2013. "Huh... I wonder what happened to Mia..." Cat said to herself as she looked over the plush. Mia was Vaggie's daughter that she gave up for adoption after her boyfriend started getting back on drugs. Cat quickly shook those feelings away when she heard her mother call for her downstairs, and she hoped and prayed that it wasn't another screaming session. Luckily, it wasn't her. Her mother had just luckily made her breakfast before they had left which was a rare occurrence.
When they got to the car, Caterina found herself getting into the very back of her family's van. It had three rows, and her favorite would always be the back. Nobody would sit near her, and she enjoyed that dearly. She already hated riding in the car, and today it felt even worse than normal. The leather seats would always make Cat sweat, and her skin would stick to the seats of the car, it wasn't the right temperature, the sun kept shining in her eyes, her headphones wouldn't sit comfortably on her head no matter how hard she tried, and even worse her hoodie's seam kept rubbing against the back of her neck. She was extremely uncomfortable and then Aurora tried talking to her, which caused her to snap at the five-year-old. "Hey! Don't talk to her like that!" Jackson, her father said, not liking the fact that she had snapped at her little sister. "Sorry Aurora... The car is just making me feel terrible and you didn't deserve that..." Cat apologized, but Aurora wasn't paying attention.
Caterina sighed and leaned back into the seat, yawning as she watched the trees pass her window. She was tired. and bored, and hot and cold at the same time and it was hard to handle for Cat, but she was immediately woken up by her mother and father announcing that they wouldn't be returning to Plainview Heights. They knew Caterina didn't handle change well, especially when she wasn't warned beforehand. This, mixing with the fact Caterina was tired caused her to burst into tears, not being able to handle the change well, but nobody paid attention to her "tantrum" as her parents would call it. Soon she passed out from exhaustion. waking up as they had just entered West Virginia. It was almost four pm. She had slept until almost 4 pm. 11 hours after they had originally got into the car. She stretched and looked around the surrounding areas. It was a lot of trees and sometimes in the distance you could make out the Appalachian Mountains.
Soon they noticed an old billboard for the town, that looked like it could've been a few years old. It was something about an amusement park in the town they were moving to. Immediately Aurora, got excited seeing this but Caterina just blinked at it. Long ago had the magic of amusement parks faded for her. Hell, Caterina had never even enjoyed amusement parks like that, they were too loud and too crowded, and the smells and the bright colors and lights hurt her eyes and would often send her into sensory overload.
As they got closer and closer to the town, Caterina noticed the aura changing, like something was wrong. Even weirder was the fact as they got closer, there was less and less civilization. Caterina tried to shake the feeling off as nervousness but in reality, it felt different. Caterina's judgement was advising heavily against this but who was she kidding, her family would never listen to her. Soon, they arrived at the outskirts of town, but things looked strangely abandoned. Like they hadn't been used in years, which Caterina was quick to point out, but she was met with "Don't worry! We'll be fine, it's probably just old buildings people don't use anymore!" Jackson tried to say but even then, as they moved further and further into town, the more things became apparent. This town hadn't been used in years, when the auctioneer promised they would be moving to a lovely town with an adorable population of people.
Soon, the parents had got out of the car to look around and... Everything was abandoned, not a SINGLE building was in use, and it didn't seem like they'd be used again. Soon though, they did notice a large colonial mansion in the distance. It was the orphanage, their new home. As they got closer, they noticed the orphanage was in much better shape than everything else in town. It actually looked desirable to live in. "There we go..." Alyssa smiled seeing their new home. Caterina didn't react much. She didn't like the feeling of this town and she surely didn't like the way the town looked. "I officially live in a ghost town..." Caterina thought as her father started to drive towards it. Soon, they had gotten to the front door and slowly Alyssa grabbed the key and unlocked it, accidentally using the old key to their house in Nevada before realizing her mistake and grabbing the new key.
When they walked inside, the orphanage was neatly cleaned, which Cat did like because she didn't like her spaces dirty. Soon, the bedrooms had been claimed and the sun began to set over the mountain peaks in the distance. The moving truck had just arrived around 5 pm and Cat had most of her things unpacked and, in the places, she wanted them, or so she thought. As she looked over her new room, she swiftly didn't like it and immediately went to move everything around again. She did this for times until finally she was happy with the look of her room. The bed was in the corner and neatly made with multiple My Little Pony plushies set up in a certain pattern. Her shelves were littered with the Five Nights at Freddy's book series, she had her lights and plants sat up in varying places around the room. Caterina's desk had her laptop on it and the 40-gallon tank she had that held her beloved pet snake, Peepers. Peepers had been lovingly given this name by Cat because that's what she did. She peeped out of the dark places in her enclosure.
As Caterina roamed around and explored the orphanage, out of the corners of her eyes she could have sworn she saw shadows watching her. or she'd see a figure with antlers eying her from the corner, but she decided to play it off as paranoia. When they ate dinner, nobody really said anything to each other. In their own special ways, this place made them feel concerned and even scared. Nobody dared to even ENTER the basement. Soon, Caterina was getting ready for bed when she noticed some of her things were missing, such as some bracelet making things she had, and some of her plushies so understandably she went to ask her little sister if she had taken them, weird thing was she hadn't. It wasn't in her room. Cat checked.
"Strange..." She thought, walking back to her room. It felt extremely cold in her room, she assumed it was from the chilly nighttime air, seeing as it was the middle of winter. She sighed and walked to her dresser. Pulling out some pajamas to wear. Usually it was an oversized t-shirt but this time she needed her weighted hoodie she liked to sleep in. As she crawled into bed, she looked around before the sound of a blood curdling scream filled the halls. Immediately, this made Caterina jump as she wasn't expecting someone to yell like that. As everyone ran to see the source of the scream. it had come from the basement of the orphanage, and no one was willing to go into the basement, so they just decided to ignore it.
Slowly Cat walked back into her room. She decided to not question where the scream had come from. As she crawled into bed, she opened her nightstand drawer, and she grabbed a few bottles of pills. She was on a few medications, the main few being duotine, Prozac, vitamin d, and her birth control.  Slowly she decided to take the pills and she leaned back into bed. She quickly covered herself with the blankets waiting for the horrific side effects of the duotine. She'd never admit it, but she could see... things. Things she never wished and wanted to see. As things faded, she watched as the room filled with horrific imagery. This time she watched as the birds painted on the wall slowly turned into skinned, skeletal and even the intestines and other internal organs belonging to the birds. She sighed and just looked at the ceiling, knowing she had to ignore it if she wanted to remain sane. Soon, she felt exhaustion overwhelm her and she slowly slipped into unconsciousness.

I'm not very good at this, so I'm just going to be blunt about this.
In the past, @/stellabat had stalked Kaz and a few of the other mods in the Plainview server and had continued to try to interact with Kaz's work, despite the fact that Kaz and the rest of the mod team made it clear that we don't want that. We have talked to her multiple times to leave us alone, but it seems like she would not stop.

ok so i wanted to answer this on main since it’s an incredibly common question i get pertaining to plainview . plainview has a ton of wacky looking characters and sentient objects that sort of thing and i get the question of “is x character apart of a species? are there humans in plainview? how did these characters come to be?” and usually i’d be all for lore and stuff but as the guy that made it i can assure you it isn’t as deep as that. plainview characters just sort of exist. they’re just… things. in my head i picture them in the same “species genre” as the muppets occupy. in short: the ‘reason’ why plainview characters look like that? because it’s funny. hope this helps
