This huge thing is a traditional terracotta water jar which was used to store drinking water. Being summer season here, it's easily available at local terracotta pot stores or nursery. I got this one as a decor piece, but I think I should have bought a smaller one. But the design on top is absolutely gorgeous. When I bought this, I had planned to make it look rustic with some plaster coats and paint. But now I think I should keep it just the way it is. How I've grown my Xerosicyos Danguyi (silver dollar vine) 💚

When I first got it, I was just the one shoot and it was overwatered.

I've never seen this one in the nursery, so I still got it. It is starting to give me so much new growth and this is the care:

🌞 Part Sun/ Part Shade (outdoors)

💦 Crucial to let it them dry between watering sessions.

Similar care to the string of pearls! If indoors I would recommend bright-medium indirect light.

I'm sharing this picture of the sunset in Monterrico, Guatemala, my home country. I'm currently visiting my family. I hadn't hugged them since July 2019. My soul is deeply happy, I needed this.

So...I did a thing. I, like so many others have tried innumerable times to grow an avocado tree from seed. I've failed so many times and yet I kept trying. Then I watched a tictoc that said peel the seed and I thought it can't be that simple. It was just that simple. I peeled the seed, stuck in the toothpicks, filled the jar with good water from my Burkey and shuffled it out to the porch for that magical morning sun and afternoon shade. Every time I checked on it it felt like a miracle. I still can't believe I got it to this point. The real test will be keeping it alive over the winter with two cats roaming free. But seriously I want to do a little victory/happy dance every time I look at this tiny baby tree. All those little moments they told you not to worry about, those are the important things. Celebrate them. I do and my life is much happier and fuller for it. Have a beautiful Sunday my friends.
