Looking for Minecraft Server Staff
The ArchHive, an Anarcho-Communist, LGBTQ+ run, Minecraft and Discord-based community, is entering a new era of gameplay development and seeking new staff to support the changes. We are restarting our Minecraft world to fully implement the programming, lore, resourcepack, and datapack changes that make our server special. Our server aims toward a vanilla Survival experience with enhancements in gameplay flow and an extensive server lore to challenge the player in new and exciting ways.
The staff we’re hoping to bring on to our team will fall into two categories; Builders or Chat Moderators. Depending on an individual’s strengths, they will either help us create ingame locations for our players to explore on the gameplay side of operations, or they will protect our community through filtration of content, keeping our Discord server safe. You can be both a chatmod and a builder if you believe you have the time and energy to do so.
Our staff tend to connect with our players outside of the scope of their responsibilities. We encourage our staff to play in survival with our users in order to experience the server the same way they do. This kind of relationship facilitates more reasonable discussions with them about our authority, and encourages our users to trust and allow us to moderate. This attitude toward power is essential to our team, because as we command respect from others, we must be willing to give that respect in turn.
Individuals interested in helping us develop our server’s reputation, in uplifting our community and connecting with people who share their interests, can join our Discord server through this page. A direct link to the Builder Application form is here, and a direct link to the Chat Moderator Application is here.
Additionally, we have a Patreon, which you can use instead to contribute if you have the means and desire to.
Not interested in the additional responsibility of working as a member of our team? No worries! You can join our server as a regular player and still meet like-minded people to play Minecraft with. Our community also regularly plays Stardew Valley (using the Unlimited Players mod by Armitxes on Nexus Mods,) Jackbox, Among Us, and various other online games together. If you enjoy video games with queer neurodiverse people, and if you want to see all of the unique additions we have to offer, join our Discord server, linked above, or through our About page.
Happy Crafting!

Does anyone know a fabric alternative to this mod? Specifically I'm looking for a server-side mod that can change player's names above their head.
It sucks that they put notch in the thumbnail and in the mod description :\
Also this is for a private project, not related to Archhive at all.

The ArchHive Server has officially launched our TideWorn 2.3.0 update / Updated to Minecraft 1.18.2.
The server is fully vanilla, everything accomplished is done through datapacks and trickery that I’ve learned over a decade of working with minecraft. Our update, in addition to bringing all of the worldgen changes of 1.18, also brings 5 new cave biomes, and a unique blending mechanic of surface-biome-cave-features to make for around 80 new unique cave biome combinations. A molten tundra cave will feel distinct from a molten jungle cave, a frozen jungle cave will feel distinct from a frozen desert cave.
Additionally, we’ve added tons of new blocks, mechanics, and more to the server, including vanilla built-in shaders that don’t require optifine. None of these screenshots were taken with optifine, and there shouldn’t be any performance differences.
You can find a full changelog for our 2.3.0 update here, though I’m still working on filling it out.
If you’re interested in the server, check out @archhivist ! Anyone can join, we’re LGBT anarcho-communist ran. If you can’t use discord for some reason, you can PM @archhivist and we’ll get you whitelisted. We are also running a New Player Invitational Event starting in 1 hour!

The Deep Well
Tumblr media
The ArchHive’s Halloween event is Live.
Be wary. The new Halloween town may appear small, but there’s something down below the ground, groaning and rattling in a way that you may be familiar with.
You’ll need items you’ve picked up on your adventures. In Plains biomes, you’ll find the stone tombs called Mausoleums, where the ancients were buried with skeletal keys.
Tumblr media
The only way through what lays beneath the well is to work together with other players to gather these skeleton keys and overpower the hordes of undead that await you deep beneath the surface of the world you know today.
These challenges are not simply combat based. You will find new blocks, items, and even cute mob plushies to decorate your base with as you barrel your way through the dungeon beneath the Deep Well.
If you play Java Minecraft, we need all the hands we can get to gather materials for this event. Only a few days left now! Join us through our tumblr page, @archhivist, where you can find the link to our Discord.

LGBTcrafting Announcement
TDLR; lgbtcrafting is getting reset and we’re going to become Very Vanilla, we encourage you to visit ArchHive as an alternative, and we welcome ArchHive players to come join us in this new phase.
okay so: We got fucked over by the server host company (McProHosting) and they won’t let us access to the world files. However this is our excuse to reset the server and strip down the plugins to be very smp-survival-vanilla, donators will still get perks but it’ll be a lot more stripped down. For reference we plan for the new server to really only have /tpa, one /home, and a couple warps as commands, donators still get nicknames, chat color, heads, particles. As an alternative we’ve officially partnered with our sister server @archhivist which is ran a lot like LGBTcrafting was before this. Currently LGBTcrafting is down as we set up the new server but it’ll be up again soon.

The @archhivist spawn hub is finally complete! New & recurring players will be greeted to a simple skippable tutorial, and then be able to use the hub to their hearts content.
The spawn hub houses warps to player towns, the ruby beacon system, the sundial, the random teleporter, far warps, the halloween event hub, the nether event hub, warps to all major server locations, and so much more. It's been a work in progress for a few months now, and I'm really happy to announce it!
Additionally, with this, we've launched an entirely new user onboarding experience! Aside from the simple tutorial, we've added 65 new advancements integrated into the advancements menu, giving players a full guide and gameplay experience to learn about the stuff we've added to the game.
If you're curious about the ArchHive, there's another promo post for it here!

More mod progress screenshots below!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve been focusing more on the new wood types associated with my mod. Namely, I decided the following:
With mushroom wood, I wanted it to be based around the mushroom stem, rather than brown and red mushroom blocks. This is similar to how the nether mushroom woods are done.
To add cohesion to this, I added in giant pumpkin blocks, giant ghost pumpkin blocks, and am going to add in giant melon blocks.
The new wood types are called shroomstem, pumpkinshell, ghost pumpkinshell, and melonshell. A big thank you to @mc-sprite-edits for the base textures for the shroomstem & pumpkinshell doors, they were an absolute joy to modify for my mod.
The shroomstem blocks are meant to be almost ghostly; not just a white wood type, but more cream to bridge the birch wood type further while still having that mycelium vibe to them.
The pumpkinshell blocks match really well with honeycomb, and are great for bee-themed builds, halloween builds, and an extension furthering the colour palette of acacia wood. They’re very garish, and add a nice pop of colour.
The ghost pumpkinshell blocks match really well with bone & quartz, and are meant to be another extension of birch -> shroomstem -> itself, while still not just being a “white” wood type. They’re more explicitly ghostly, but also work well for other palettes!
The melonshell blocks I’m genuinely surprised look as good as they do. They’re garish as hell, even moreso than the pumpkinshell blocks, but somehow they just... work. They really fit in well with the nether woods, radioactive builds, and somehow feel really nice in tropical themed builds, despite most mods adding in tropical woods that are simply a new shade of brown / a brownish gray. They almost feel perfect for like, 70′s hippie builds, & are kind of the “glazed terracotta” of wood types. While the doors look great together, like a big ol’ melon, they also feel really nice by themselves as a sort of half-moon type shape.
As far as smaller tweaks, I added a more unique texture to Dark Oak Paper Lanterns, & finally finished up the Shroomstem lanterns. The shroomstem lanterns themselves feel right in line with mycelium builds, & do a pretty good job of feeling ornate without feeling too repetitive in comparison to birch.
Altogether, the mod is about 65-70% done as far as raw block content is concerned; there’s still a lot of polish that needs doing as far as block properties (sound when broken, stepped on, colour on map, block drops, and recipes), but this is mostly just busywork that requires a lot of references that I’m going to save for last. This is about 337 blocks in total! The base game only has 935 as of 1.19, so by the time it’s done, it should add an additional 50% to the total block count of the game, and hopefully fill it out pretty nicely.
Currently, the mod is in its public alpha test phase with my patrons over @ patreon.com/archhive to donators of $10 or above, exclusively in creative mode. When the mod enters the beta stage, it will be available to all players on the @archhivist server. When the mod is complete, I plan on releasing it to the public. This is, however, just the first module, as I do have plans on further pieces of it that will be able to be enabled / disabled in the config.

The first game of To The End is an ArchHive (@archhivist) Patron Drive event, available to all players, to drum up support for both the ArchHive server and our patreon. The Patreon Server runs in 3-month "seasons", with midseason games like this between them. Next season, Season 4, we will be playing a pixelmon server.
Once the patron drive has ended, To The End will be available to download as a standalone datapack for patrons for one month, and then go public after that. Additionally, there are two extra little bits: whoever grabs the dragon egg first among the players will be granted 1 month on the patron server that they may keep or gift to a friend. For the Endersent, you will fight to the death among eachother for this once you have won.
To The End will take place on Saturday, October 9th, at 4 PM Pacific Time. If you want to participate, you'll have to join the server, again @archhivist, before then.

Welcome to the Odds N Ends update.
While Mojang was taking their sweet time with the Nether Update, my staff & I were working on this: a full update to the End dimension in 100% Vanilla Minecraft, utilizing server-side plugins, datapacks, and a resource pack. Players do not need to download anything to join the server.
This update adds 8 new mobs, 2 new biomes, and, clearly, a ton of new items and blocks, to Minecraft 1.16. It is exclusive to the ArchHive server, which you can find more information on at @archhivist.
You can find the full, 100% changelog of everything I’ve added in the Odds N Ends Update here.
Our server is anarcho-communist & LGBT ran, and anyone is allowed to join.

Reflecting on One year of ONE, our server's vanilla End update.
Odds n Ends birthday was yesterday!!!! I'll be trying to set up an anniversary event for it, but the server is offline right now to update us to 1.17.
After said anniversary event, we will officially be moving into development of our next major update. The next phase of the @archhivist "ArchHive" server.
Odds N Ends was ONE, archhive content update 1.0. After this, we will officially be working on 2.0, or TWo.
For Odds N Ends, I had to develop the entire thing on my old PC, where even reloading textures would take about 30 minutes, and would eventually slow down my computer to the point of crashing.
It took months, and I'm really proud of how it turned out, and really happy that my staff and patrons supported its development so intensely. There were so many little bits that were cut from development, some of which are being repurposed in future content, but I have to say, personally, that I'm just... I'm really proud of how it turned out, and how much love and support our community has given, how much excitement we saw over my content... that directly drove my own excitement to create more things for the update.
We've talked about it a lot before in the server, but we've considered releasing merch for some of the stuff. At the very least, I'd love to make (and release) a sewing pattern for Lurkers, given how absolutely and ludicrously popular their design is with our players.
ONE was the first major success I've seen for a completely independent project I've worked on, and it will always hold a super special place in my heart because of that. However, moving forward, I hope our second update, the TWo following our ONE, will meet everyone's expectations, and then absolutely surpass them. The amount of things I am capable of now, especially thanks to developments with plug-ins (even a plug-in coded specifically at my request by a friend).
The name for the 2.0 / TWo update, as I've talked about before, is Tide Worn.
The Tide Worn update will focus on Winds and Oceans, updating the mountains with features inspired by Minecraft Dungeons, including a new beacon-like block that will allow players to throw ender pearls with no gravity, and some pretty cool other little things, such as goat villagers, wind temples, and a few new blocks and items to accommodate them.
The Ocean, however, is and will be the main focus. Players will be able to find a new Elder Monument, deactivate the Elder Conduit, learn more about the history of the world of minecraft (though in true minecraft fashion, indirectly), and make their way to a new dimension: The Abyss.
To compliment this, we will be reworking the minecraft brewing system to the best of our ability, and I even bought a premium plug-in to add entirely new enchantments to the game.
One example of this will be the Breathtaker enchantment, which will restore oxygen on attacking mobs.
As for potions, we'll be introducing a few new ones (haste, anyone?), antidotes using warped nether sprouts that can be used to remove singular potion effects, super-long and super-strong Elixirs and Droughts, and more.
There is also a focus on making Lapis Lazuli much more important in the game-play loop, although we are still HEAVILY working on ideas for this feature. As of right now, we would like players to be able to acquire Lapis Tomes, and enchant them, being able to Choose what enchantment you would like.
Beyond that, we are trying to allow players to use these tomes to even enchant their gear Beyond the normal, such as Sharpness 6- though these enchantments will come with some drawbacks to balance them out, such as potentially not being able to have mending applied.
Other focuses will be on making Gold a better block to build with (we already have textures for chiseled gold and gold bricks), making lapis better to build with (we have smooth lapis and lapis bricks done), and we even already have an equivalent to gilded blackstone in our gilded lapis.
A few other sneak peaks of upcoming blocks we're working on introducing, by name: shale, soap, salt, shell, and two new variant groups of prismarine, elder and ancient prismarine.
The Abyss will be, hopefully, a terrifying dimension to explore. Players will be underwater constantly, and have blindness applied to them if they are ever out of range of a conduit. We are trying to make it feel VERY claustrophobic, and very vertically oriented. With 1.17, we're hoping to try to make it 512 blocks tall, from Y=-512 to Y=0.
The idea behind the Abyss is that it is effectively a Water counterpart to the Nether, adjacent to the overworld in an entirely different way.
Of course, we're also still working on our core updates (fixing worldgen to make it more interesting for instance), and on our community updates (see: the guild system). These updates don't have official versions associated with them just yet, but the Guilds will launch 1.0 of our community update pipeline.
Anyway, stay tuned, and please before 1.17 drops on the server later today, wish Odds N Ends a happy birthday!
Here's to ONE year of lurker festivals 🤍

needless to say, the ArchHive @archhivist 1.18 update is coming soon, with the new worldgen, as well as with our Frozen Caves, Molten Caves, Mother Slime, Spider Den, Dwarf Fortress, and final nether Brimstone Cradle biomes, as well as some massive changes to the overworld at large, including 3 new stone types, 6 new cobblestone types, crystal ice (new mechanical block), congealed slime, slime mouths, dimsand, dimstone, glowstone bricks, glowshrooms, nether roots, brimming vines, brimstone, empyrean ore, a new Heat mechanic requiring the use of a new Heart of the Nether item, a new Cold mechanic to Freezing biomes to discourage players from swimming in frozen water, and so, so much more. I’ll make a promo post when it’s ready, + we’re going to be launching a new player event called The Ark, where players will go to an area called The New World, for both new players and existing players who want to start from square 1.

Hey y’all! I’m finally making another promo post for my MC server.
Most simply, we’re LGBT Anarcho Communists running a server centered around community, operating in good faith, & making sure players have an enjoyable experience.
You can find more information about it here, at @archhivist, and you can join our discord here to join the server proper! If you can’t use discord, for whatever, reason, that’s okay too! You can just PM me & we can get you whitelisted.
We also have a patreon over @ http://patreon.com/archhive!
& for accessibility purposes, here’s all of the text within these images:
The Archhive is an LGBT Anarcho-Communist ran community based around a minecraft server. We've got a handful of plugins and datapacks to streamline the creative and political ideals of the server, and are actively working on improving the player experience. We currently have over 150 players, in just over a month of activity! Overall, we're focused on blending the gameplay styles of things like Minecraft Dungeons with the creative aspects of the base game, and attempting to integrate the two in such a way that what we add feels like a natural extension of the two.
Beetles: Through an entire new mechanic called sandfishing, there's now a new mob, the beetle, with over 1000 variations, and even some special Ancient Gold gear that players can acquire. Just grab a shovel, go to a desert, and start digging!
Villager Redesign: Villagers & Illagers have cute and friendly animal heads, dependent on the biome they spawn in. Have a favourite mob? You should find its village!
Chronicle: For our lore-savvy players, we've implemented loads of custom textured books that players can craft & acquire to write whatever they'd like in! We have everything from Dyed to Prismarine books, and many more!
Ruby Beacon: A beacon system that uses a shared currency amongst players to beenfit everyone, giving beacon effects from Haste I-X to the complete negation of the Wither status effect for one hour.
Fruit: Depending on what leaves you break in which biome, players can get access to 33 fruits! Whether its to collect them, or as a source of food, they flesh out the game immensely.
Coming Soon: We're working on some new dungeons, possible multiworld compatibility, and a few other secret things! We have a dedicated Build Team of 14 working to expand the player experience daily, and our wonderful moderation team makes sure that the community is welcoming and supportive, and most important of all, safe.
