Grace Chasity appeared on four stories.
Out of those four stories, she saved the day FOUR TIMES.
Two of them (Abstinence Camp, NPMD) ended with Grace essentially taking over from the "bad guy" and imposing her will on everyone.
As for the other two, it is unknown what Grace did next. In Perky's Buds, she indirectly saved Emma and Ziggs by calling the cops and firefighters (off screen) not knowing that they were trapped by the fire. While Working Boys ended with the theater in chaos right after she shot Hidgens multiple times.
This is Grace's world, and we are all just living in it.

ROUND TWO PARTY SCHEDULE
Tumblr media
Greetings Nighthawks, Sniggles, Timberwolves, PIEP Agents, Nerdy Prudes, and all assorted Hatchetfielders,
Lord Bliklotep, the Watcher With A Thousand Eyes, has sent me to bestow on you several big announcements! First, I am thrilled to announce the results of our very first non-Hatchetfield palate cleanser! As you can see, the winner (with a frankly runaway number of votes) was SPIES ARE FOREVER!!!! So get your brown rocket shoes ready because it will be time to save the world again before you know it. Thanks to everyone who voted, and better luck next time for those of you who didn’t get your pick.
Second, with its release on YouTube, we have decided to permanently add WORKIN' BOYS to our watch party rotation. As NMT3 will in some ways be closer to the style of Workin’ Boys than the zoom-call style of NMT2, we here at Blinky’s believe that continued interest in WB will be an important factor in whether or not NMT3 gets made. With all that in mind, we are so thrilled to announce the dates for our next round of re-watch parties.
Please note that with the Cinderella’s Castle kickstarter campaign over, we are returning to our usual time slots on Saturdays.

Hello And Welcome To: Project Vesperione! Enjoy Your Stay
Here are some things to note before you view my resume.
The quick rundown is I'm Jay, I'm 18 and this is (primarily) a Team StarKid blog. All my socials are under the same name. Since turning 18, I’ve become incredulously blunt apparently so be warned: I’m embracing the bitch within! I also fucking hate Robert Manion and if you support him then fuck off! The man sexually harassed a coworker and said some very, very sketchy things about Beauty And The Beast while hating on the company that made him famous during NMT2's run so if you support him then politely, block me.
With that cleared up, welcome to Project Vesperione also known as this silly little Hatchetfield blog. If you have stumbled upon here, then that is highly unfortunate but you're stuck here now. Sorry about that. Once again, my name is Jay, I'm 18, aroace, and have a collection of tags. Here at Project Vesperione, here are the few you can expect to see used the most:
meow - my Hey Melissa tag (with a few exceptions)
kickstarter perks - my Workin Boys! tag
lcverlosses - my lautski tag
cjnderellascastle - my Cinderellas castle tag
consjderthecoconut - my main tag for original posts
track 14 on fitf - my tag for when I'm being explicitly blunt and correcting people on lore just because I can
And now, for whatever reason if you want to know more about me, here's more info under the cut
I got sick of the Hatchetfield's fandom's stupid theories and ended up making track 14 on fitf. I've been in this hellhole since jan 7th 2019. I know the lore better than new fans ever will. The new fans got to watch NPMD on a whim. I had to wait four fucking years so excuse the fact if I'm blunt about it, I have autism and don't like incorrect facts. Moving on:
Rules and boundaries: if you are a hardcore supporter of Dream and the DSMP, then please leave this blog. If you are transphobic, homophobic, sexist, racist, xenophobic etc etc, please leave as well. If you are against neopronouns then you can leave as well.
Off the bat, I am, as you will most likely see within tags of reblogs, Quite The Character. In other words, I'm a self-aware bitch. This means when correcting people on Hatchetfield Lore, I will be blunt about it because I've been in this fandom since Jan 7th 2019. I've grown up with Hatchetfield as Hatchetfield has grown. I know the lore like the back of my hand. I miss nothing. But I assume you're not here to learn about me being a bitch. Here's some important (repeated) info about me:
Name: Jay Age: 18 Pronouns: They/Them Sexuality: Aromantic Asexual
My Fandom List Includes:
Team Starkid
Miraculous Ladybug
Cooking Companions/Dread Weight
Julie And The Phantoms
Escape The Night
35MM: A Musical Exhibiton
And Now - Fun Trivia About Me!: I used to study Creative Media Production at college. I have since graduated. For my Final Major Project (my final project ever which is going to get graded by examiners), I made a Hatchetfield Podcast. The target audience? People who may be unfamiliar with hatchetfield who want to learn the basics without having to go through the musicals and NMT. The link is here: https://linktr.ee/dothncx. Let it be known that my deadname is in that podcast so if you listen to it, please do not use that towards me. My name is Jay. Thanks.
The name "Vesperione" comes from the two names of Vesperia and Viperion merged together with an e added on the end (vespe-rion+e). Originally, my username was robertstanion (i say this confidently to prove if I can disown that fucker then anyone can) but when I made the move to multifandom, I wanted something universal. Besides. Don't lie to yourself. Vesperione sounds fucking cool
I also really like music. Like. Really like music. I like musicals, and I like music. Some of my favourite artists include: Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Dallas Thornton, Chappell Roan, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan. My favourite musicals are NPMD, TGWDLM, Black Friday, Little Shop Of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Heathers and Everybody's Talking About Jamie.
And when I'm not being autistic about all of that ^ I am being autistic over my immense love for cosplay and drag queens! (yes i cosplay but i'll never publicly speak my cosplay acc @)
In other words, this blog is a mess. I love horror based media so the majority of this blog is that, but it changes at any one time. Be prepared for literally anything.
Finally, my hobbies include chatting shit, being paranoid about my digital footprint, writing fanfiction for my own self indulgence, procrastinating, playing roblox and crying
And if you’ve read all that and still want to follow me, then I’m amazed. Welcome to the club.

*takes a massive sip of tea* Okay please explain why you like Sam Sweetly so much! /gen
Feel free to go as in-depth as possible, write an entire essay, just infodump I guess! :)
*takes a shot of water* Let’s go! So of course take all of this with a grain of salt. This is just my view on the characters and how I’ve interpreted the interactions (under the cut because holy fuck I have a lot of feelings about this, plus NMT2 spoilers and triggers). I will also primarily focus on Sam here and try not to tangent off into why I dislike Charlotte. Also, below that cut is like 2500 words
So in The Guy Who Didn’t Lie Musicals (TGWDLM), we really only see the ‘real’ Sam for a very limited amount of time. Of course, there’s the phone call with Charlotte, but we only hear her side of it. So Sam’s lines in TGWDLM are:
1.) “Excuse me, ma’am, but I’ve got a warrant to inspect the junk in your trunk.” -Sam is, of course, hitting on Zoey at this point. Which gets everyone up in arms because ‘he’s cheating on Charlotte!!!’ when we just got done watching a scene where we learn Charlotte is also cheating on Sam with Ted. This doesn’t make these actions right, however I find it difficult to automatically hate Sam for cheating when Charlotte is doing the same thing.
People also like to talk about how gross of a pickup line it is. The thing is though, it’s not like he’s using it on some random stranger on the street (which would be very gross harassment). It sets the tone that these two are very familiar with each other already and he knows he can use that stupid pickup line on her.
Zoey, playing hard to get, tells him he’s an asshole. Why do I think she’s just playing hard to get and not actually turned off by him? Cause she then reveals the gift she got for him: two tickets to the touring production of Mamma Mia! Zoey works at an independent coffee shop as a manager. We know from Honey Queen that she has three roommates. She doesn’t have a lot of money. Yet she bought tickets for her and Sam to go see the show (I will end this thought here as I will get more into Zoey and Sam’s relationship later).
2.) “No way, you got ‘em?!” -Sam’s excitement and disbelief at Zoey getting the tickets for them to go see the show. I feel like there’s a couple reasons why he seems so surprised by this action. One of them being that someone cared and knew him well enough to know he wanted to go see the musical. Second, this person knew, didn’t dismiss or belittle him for this interest and actually made it so they could go enjoy it together? It’s an important and touching gesture.
3.) “I never miss a musical at the Starlight-.” -Sam loves musicals. He’s probably a theater nerd at his very core. I would put money on the guess that his love of musicals and theater is how he met Zoey (I personally headcanon that in the Starlight Theater’s production of Trail to Oregon, Sam originated the role of Father). Charlotte has heard him sing enough that she knows he’s always a little flat. Mans loves the arts.
3.5.) “-and if anyone thinks that makes me less of a man, they can talk to my fucking gun.” -Sam, saying his interest in musicals doesn’t invalidate his masculinity while also saying if anyone wants to talk shit, they better be able to do it with a gun in their face. This line turns a lot of people off and I get why: threatening violence, etc, etc. Thing is, Zoey is obviously super into it (as am I). It’s that cocky arrogance, that confidence that I think comes across as sexy. Also, for me, this line isn’t a direct threat of violence. It’s more of a warning, the subtle pushing back of a suit jacket to reveal the gun and holster as you pleasantly ask the person you’re speaking to if there’s anything else they have to say to you. It’s alluring, it’s suave, it’s flirting with danger.
4.) “...Charlotte?” -Sam, who is undergoing his apotheosis at this moment, singing Show Me Your Hands while infected. When Charlotte, his wife, appears, begging him to just talk to her, he takes off his sunglasses and says her name. I’m not going to get into the sunglasses thing, I have a whole other post about it. I am going to talk about the way he says her name though. It was like he couldn’t believe she was there. Like he was lost and he’s so relieved to see her (my thoughts on their marriage coming later).
The Sam we see in the rest of this musical is nothing more than a puppet of the Hive. People love to try to use Tied Up My Heart as proof of Sam emotionally abusing Charlotte. Upon examination, this falls apart since his brain is literally sitting in some alley in downtown Hatchetfield at this point. This is all the Hive using Sam’s flesh to draw Charlotte in, using what they know about Charlotte’s wants to execute their plan. Which succeeds.
Speaking of Charlotte’s wants, let me offer my view on Sam and Charlotte’s marriage while we’re here. We know they’re cheating on each other. Charlotte, we know, is sleeping with Ted, her therapist, and has/had a string of other lovers. We know Sam is involved with Zoey. We don’t know if he’s had any extramarital affairs before her (the ‘booze and harlots and all the Charlottes’ line is insufficient evidence since, once again, that was not Sam who sang that line). I believe Sam knows Charlotte is cheating on him, but Charlotte doesn’t know Sam is cheating one her (and I believe it’s because she doesn’t care enough about him to figure it out).
My thoughts on why Charlotte and Sam are going to couples’ counseling? Sam caught her cheating, was going to leave, Charlotte pleaded for him to stay so they could try to fix it. Bring me back to the phone call at the beginning of TGWDLM. It’s very apparent Sam’s response to it being “cuddle night” was ‘so what.’ This is generally construed as him brushing off Charlotte as if he doesn’t care. To me, it’s said out of hurt. He knows she’s sleeping with other men, despite her pleas for him to stay, to make this work. We hear Charlotte say she’s tired too, implying Sam saying he was tired. I don’t believe he meant physically tired: he meant emotionally. And why wouldn’t he be emotionally exhausted, staying with someone who is cheating on you but won’t let you go?
I do believe, though, they loved each other once. The flame’s burned out, there’s a few glowing embers left, the remnants of what once was. It was there though. I have thoughts about how Charlotte’s infidelity started, but that’s not what this is about.
We don’t see Sam in Black Friday, but I’m going to talk about What if Tomorrow Comes. As much as I love Ken Davidson, I believe it should have been Sam there instead. We have Barneston, a high school sweetheart couple who just rekindled their love after years apart, who despite everything they’ve gone through and how they’ve grown as people still fit together and we have Paulkins, the newer, we still haven’t put a label on it but you’re at my family’s functions, it’s so obvious this is getting serious. I would have loved to see the Sweetlys be the third couple in that number. The, we have our issues, we’re broken, I don’t love you like I once did, but the world is falling apart and you’re safe and that’s all that matters to me right now dynamic would have been an interesting flavor added to the mix.
Instead, we get a CharTed moment, which I dislike for a few reasons. One, I don’t like Charlotte and Ted as a couple. Nick Lang has described them as just being horny coworkers. Charlotte is stringing Ted along. Two, it gives this energy of Ted and Charlotte being in love. As per Time Bastard, the only woman Ted has ever loved is Jenny. Three, I feel like without CharTed present, we would have had a much more poignant Spankoffski Bros moment that would have beautifully mirrored the moments between the Foster Sisters.
We get a Sam mention in Time Bastard, which is just Charlotte telling Ted her husband is right over there when Ted tries hitting on her at Paul and Emma’s wedding. Which brings us to my next point.
Nightmare Time Season Two’s first episode Honey Queen is the first time we get to see Sam since TGWDLM and, really, it’s the first time we see any discernible character depth since he’s one of the main characters. Once again, sunglasses post is relevant. When he first picks Zoey up, he has that kind of harsh, rough tone, like he’s detached. However, when they’re in the backseat of the cruiser smoking, he’s softer, hanging on to every word she says, telling her she’s “gonna light up Broadway.” After her rant about getting out of Hatchetfield, he, so quietly and so vulnerably, asks, “And you’re taking me with you, right?”
He so clearly adores this woman. They have similar interests, they seem to click. He’s still married to Charlotte because it’s safe. Because he doesn’t know if Zoey wants the same things from this that he does. Asking that questions, while high, is such a safe move on his part, putting feelers out there, because if he doesn’t get the answer he wants, he can write it off as not serious. He was high, why would he be serious? Zoey dismisses him, tells him “You’re funny.” He doesn’t react, doesn’t show if he’s upset or displeased by this. Just gives Zoey his gun when she asks for it, because he’d do anything for her.
Next, we get to the scene where Zoey is freaking out because of Linda’s blackmail threat. Sam is calm. He’s calm because she needs him to be. He also has plenty of reason to be stressed over this blackmail: a weed smoking cop cheating on his wife? Definitely not a good look for the HFPD, even if it were to be swept under the rug. He’s calm though, letting himself be a verbal punching bag for Zoey because he has a plan on how to fix this for her.
A couple points I want to make here: First, Sam didn’t kill Mima, medical negligence did. He didn’t walk into her room and shoot her, didn’t smother her with a pillow or strangle her. He changed the doses on the medications on her chart. As far as murder attempts go, this is honestly super weak. From what we can tell, Mima has been at this nursing home for a while. Unless they have a super high turnover rate of PCAs, CNAs, nurses, and doctors, all of the staff interacting with Mima would be familiar enough with her condition to recognize if a dosage was different. Just the dosages were changed with no notation from the prescribing doctor? Huge red flag. Honestly, Zoey should have taken the inheritance then sued Chestnut Estates for medical negligence that resulted in the death of her grandmother.
Second, I spent the week after this episode streamed dreading seeing posts about it. Why? Because several people made posts about Zoey being scared of Sam, knowing he could kill her, how he’s abusive and all this other shit. One, Zoey shuts him down when he asks about her taking him with her. No beating around the bush, no placating ‘maybe’ or a lie, telling him of course. Just a dismissal and Sam accepts it. When you’re in an abusive relationship, you are constantly trying to please your partner, trying to make them happy because as soon as you tell them something they don’t want to hear is when you get hurt. This also applies to after the blackmail incident, when Zoey is fuming and is ranting at Sam and very condescendingly calls him ‘stupid.’ No reaction from Sam because he understands she’s acting out of fear, he’s not taking it personally. There is no indication that Zoey fears for her life around Sam. Honestly, as far as what we’ve seen in the Hatchetfield Universe with Sam and Zoey, Sam has done nothing but support Zoey.
Anyway, now we get to the pageant. Sam is in the crowd, hyping up Zoey. However, when Zoey chokes during the talent portion, everyone starts laughing at her. Sam sounds upset as he tells people to stop laughing. As soon as Zoey runs backstage, Sam is headed back there as well, fully intent on comforting her. Which he does, to the best of his ability, including another (albeit stupid) suggestion about how to get her to trend, which is the reason she wanted to win Honey Queen so badly.
Zoey, however, notices River and just comments they need leverage. Remember earlier when I said Sam would do anything for Zoey. I meant anything. He’s shown himself to be loyal to a fault to her. Cool motive, still child abduction. This is the point at which I, while I understand the reasoning behind the actions, can’t get behind them. He puts River in the backseat of the cruiser and waits there with him until Zoey gives him further orders. At which point Linda tricks him, he gets attacked by Gerald, and Sam loses his temper and uses the “I’m a cop” to justify his actions, including attempting to kill Gerald and the threats made to the rest of the Monroes.
That is my breakdown of how I view and interpret Sam Sweetly. However, I feel it is also important to note a large part of how I interpret actions and such comes from my own experiences. I believe this influence shows most strongly when it comes to Charlotte and Sam.
Because, despite the things Charlotte does, she never accepts any responsibility. She’s so hurt and wounded by the consequences of her actions that she refuses to acknowledge these things happened because of her actions. It reminds me of my dad, who walked out a few days before my brother’s high school graduation without a word to my brother (18 at the time) and me (15 at the time). He came back, no explanation, no apology. My dad, who was seeing another woman before my mom finally left him and refuses to admit he was to this day 13 years later. My dad, who to this day refuses to accept any responsibility in his and my mom’s divorce and how it impacted my brother and myself, who forced her to apologize to my brother and myself, saying all of this happening was her fault.
Charlotte’s actions and the fandom incessantly absolving her responsibility, of acting like she has no faults, completely and utterly enrages me. Because I have someone like that in my life.
Sam is my flavor of morally gray. He’s a bastard. He has soft spots. Zoey and musicals are obvious weaknesses of his. He’s been hurt and I love him. He is no way perfect. I can look at him and tell you his flaws. At the end of the day though, he is a fictional character in the tiny town of Hatchetfield and loving him doesn’t make me a bad person.
