listen I know pretty little liars has been off air for like six years and I should probably stop letting this bother me, but I genuinely cannot get over the fact that they forced aria to marry her teacher and STALKER. their relationship is already disgusting enough before the season 4 reveal, but it’s only made worse by the fact that ezra was following around and exploiting multiple teenage girls. that man should be in JAIL. alex drake should have finished the job when she hit him over the head with that rock.

Here's the thing: I love Ezria precisely because it's terrible.
Being in HS and having THAT man for a teacher? Hooking up with him before it becomes clear he IS your teacher?
For me, it's not about Ezra's perspective; it's about Aria's.
You're being constantly harassed, your family situation is tense, and you just came back from a year abroad. You crave stability. And there's this man that falls right into your lap; he's an authority figure, he's masculine, tough but sensitive, you feel like he really cares about you and more than anything: he feels safe.
What's more, the relationship is of the forbidden kind. The age gap! The position of power!
That's what makes it exciting.
Yeah, if you see things from Ezra's viewpoint, it seems awful: he has a romance with his HS student who's not even an adult. But that's really not the point here.
It was never supposed to be healthy. Aria's parents are vehemently against them, even after the time skip, at the very end of the series, when Ezria get married. PLL as a whole doesn't show healthy... anything. It's not a guide to teenagehood (and especially not to adulthood) although there is some good things (the way the Liars handle Emily's sexuality! It almost makes me cry every time!).
PLL is not didactic. It's a fantasy. It's fine.

I just watched the finale of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. It was mostly fantastic...but chile. There's just one scene I can't get over.
After all the preaching and social commentary made throughout this series about grooming and sexual assault, the writers decide to throw in a happy little Easter egg for the fans of the original PLL...the couple adopting Imogen's baby are Aria and Ezra.
...Aria and the man who groomed her when she was a minor. We're still pretending this pairing was okay? STILL? Why couldn't it have been Hanna and Caleb? Like?

Emily: So how’s motherhood treating you?
Aria: Good. I didn’t expect this much crying, though.
Spencer: Don’t worry, it’s normal for babies
Aria: What? The baby's fine. I was talking about Ezra.
Ezra, sobbing from the nursery: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Hot take, I like Ezra as a character and Ezria as a ship more than I like Alison as a character and Emison as a ship.
