hi jo !!! Pastels, Peaches, and Pain is one of those sambucky wips i have mostly fully fleshed out in my head because of one (1) extreme moment of clarity after a rogue ‘what if’ tangent thought but havent written anything of yet out of restraint / knowing i need to finish at least one of my current sambucky wips before i start it or none of them will get done

this was the rogue tangent thought: “what if Sam is haunted by Figaro’s ghost and has been since he was a kid?”. i’ve changed the ghost cat to not be Figaro but that’s the premise !

i refer to the fic as the cat fic ‘cause the whole plot is based around sam’s ghost cat companion insisting he adopts nat’s cat Liho after endgame and then Figaro later and then [insert redacted because plot spoilers but just know it relates to Alpine]. no im not projecting my feelings about cats idk what youre talking about 

here’s some note snippets just for you:

the cat, inexplicably, takes a liking to bucky, which is really annoying bc sam doesnt know how to explain to him that all the oddly soft gusts of wind are actually sam's dead cat insisting on getting pats

bucky getting shade thrown at him by said ghost cat during all of tfatws + them making up (and not out. yet)

starts when sam's a kid & follows him as he grows up w/ a ghost kitty as a companion only he can see & interact with + angst with an undertone of comedy + getting together

he whispers to ghost kitty, who simply mmrrs happily

for the among us first draft thing, what basically happened is i saw this tweet and this video and my brain latched onto these dynamics so hard i had to write about them. 

here’s a sketch of my two main imposters, Black (left) and Cyan (right):

The thing having Cyan pause and stare out at the asteroid field is how the colors stretch to family. When they and Black came aboard, they had thought every crewmember was an adult working on the planet-change project. That the patch of off-white with a black something-pattern-or-shape signified status. In a way, Cyan supposes it does, but just not the way they expected. They had expected it to show what rank an individual held within the hierarchy of the crew, from deckhand to division leader to captain, not to show that you're family of the crew and not actually part of the crew itself. 

There are innocents on this ship. Children. It was not something any of them had anticipated, and not something Cyan had been prepared to deal with. They and Black boarded this horrible place to eradicate a threat, believing each and single one of the humans were accomplishes and dedicated to the goal of destroying Cyan and Black's species, and their planet. But, now?

marvel meets warframe meets a bunch of tumblr posts... doesn’t have a wip title or seperate document for itself yet cause it’s been stuck in my ‘story ideas’ document since its creation. so ‘marvel meets warframe meets a bunch of tumblr posts’ is literally just me describing the vibe of an original world gjkerfkds

the world came to be for two reasons. firstly, i want to do make take on a superhero universe because the plot and complete lack of communication in both the dcu and mcu piss me the fuck off. secondly, needed a place to dump ocs with elaborate backstories or fantasy / sci-fi abilities that dont fit into any of my existing worlds

which sounds super competent but trust me, it isn’t. it didn’t gain any solidity at all until i decided to do a personal ‘how different can i make spn castiel look & still retain the same vibe?’ challenge. i have my own cas now

however, the reason i said ‘marvel meets...’ is because i’ve snagged a couple of different things from the mcu, most notably: enemies to reluctant coworkers to lovers, yes our best friend have the same name. no they’re not the same person, secret evil org is controlling the government, and the assassin that tried to kill you several times is now your best friend

warframe was added to the world because i got attached to my Volt build, gave them a name, and have some headcanons idk what to do with because i refuse to interact with that fandom. also because the friend i made through discussing warframe lore + plot dicked me over so it feels Bad to create for

the glue to this whole mess is that one “in every friend group there’s a mean bisexual, an even meaner lesbian, a she/they, a he/they, a himbo, an astrology bitch, a short king, and a token straight” tumblr post. my main group of superheroes ala the avengers consist of these people. the token straight is the only one i havent figured out who is yet

ever since i figured that out ive been throwing story / character ideas and weirdly specific aesthetics from popular tumblr posts into this world’s notes. here’s some examples:

the time jumping dream movie was one of the first vivid dreams i had and the whole thing was so stupidly coherent and whacky i had to write it down. it grew plot, a queer love dynamic, weird sci-fi apocalypse elements, anti-military propaganda, questionable science, and a sequel while i wasnt looking and now i just. have to make it a real movie or i’ll combust

- ok so i have in my mind that sakura, ino, naruto and sasuke are all childhood friends? and then they all met the rest of the group in college or sumn idk

- actress! sakura, actor! naruto and then i always imagined ino as like a make-up artist/stylist?? and then our boy sasuke is just vibing doing is own thing bc he hates the spotlight

- this is every celeb au i’ve ever read all in one bc i don’t see a sns ver out there 

- i imagine both naruto and sakura do a bunch of genre’s of movies (like...all actors do bye i can’t think) but anYways they’ve both made it big and made names for themselves

- naruto and sakura have made it p obvious they’re good friends and ino is like lowkey famous on instagram bc of her clothes and make-up and sakura n naruto often make appearances (along w the rest of the group)

- so then naruto’s doing a live?? ig w ino and sakura and he shares an apartment w sasuke ofc and they’ve been together for like,, a long time (also inosaku is a thing bc lesbian rights!!) 

- anyways he’s doing a live and they’re all doing smth stupid idk cooking in the kitchen and making a mess and sasuke comes home and the camera can’t see him but everyone turns to his direction

- ino and sakura are like aha hi we didn’t do anything and naruto is like hi babe 

- and sasuke (off-camera) is like i’m never letting ANY of you into my apartment 

- then naruto’s probably like don’t be like that </3

- MEANWHILE everyone on the live is like????? babe????? whomst???????? 

- the three of them are p open abt their sexualities and inosaku post cute couple pics all the time but naruto has always been v hush hush abt his relationship status (there was no reason really sasuke said he didn’t mind but naruto knows sas is a private person so he purposely said as little as possible) 

- fast forward like,,idk a week and naruto is doing an interview and ofc he’s asked abt the whole babe thing and he’s like yeah i’ve been dating someone for like,,, since college and the interviewer is like pray tell but naruto isn’t saying anything until he can actually talk to sasuke abt it 

- fast forward another couple of weeks and ino is releasing a new collection (i don’t know how stylists work pls dont hurt me) and she’s posted a new model??? (spoiler alert it’s sasuke)

- sasuke always had a good sense of style but his colour pallette is. limited let’s say so ino made him dress more colourful? i wanna say his usual style is alternative so pastel alternative????? like,, cargo pants or ripped jeans leather jacket kind of style except now it’s pastel? um anyways the point is the clothes are out of his comfort zone but he looks good because of course he fucking does 

- the comments ofc freak out everyone’s like hello who are you how do you like your eggs in the morning i love you marry me (so like. me @ sasuke at any given moment)

- ino tagged him in the photo and his account is private but fans notice that both naruto and sakura follow him? (along with other famous™️ people in their group ig) 

- behind the scenes sasuke comes home and is like i have a thousand ppl requesting me make it stop 

- anyways next day ino posts pictures of naruto and plot twist naruto is dressed in all black like,, cargo pants, leather jacket, bicker gloves and everyone is like holy fuck. holy FUCK. 

- side note sasuke wore eyeliner in his pics bc sasuke in eyeliner lives in my mind rent free and naruto probably had some eye look to contrast the black uh moral of the story eyeshadow and eyeliner is as sexy as hell on anyone and everyone

- so instead of being POLITE and letting people RECOVER from naruto and sasuke’s pictures ino posts more pictures of them. together. very close. 

- naruto was nervous abt hate ofc bc people SUCK but when the pictures came out everyone was like HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL US YOUR BOYFRIEND WAS THIS HOT???

- ino posts some behind the scenes on her story and we witness sns being an old married couple

- literally a whole minute is just sasuke yelling at him for being an idiot what’s new

- but then there are others in between photos being taken and they’re just... so fucking cute oh my god you’ve got sasuke helping naruto with his jewelry and naruto feeding sasuke hello these two idiots are so in LOVE 

- (you alr know one of the pictures was just them almost kissing you already KNOW)

- everyone online is just freaking out bc not only has our bi king got a boyfriend he is HOT and suddenly the entire fandom has a crush on him (him being sasuke wbk everyone is in love w naruto anyway)

- obviously the next interview naruto does he gets asked about sasuke and he’s just like yeah he’s my boyfriend and he’s amazing and gorgeous and

- all four of them (sakura, ino, naruto and sasuke) have been friends since they were children and sasuke and naruto always had this weird rivalry enemies thing they were best friends

- sasuke was there for all of them but esp naruto always helping him with lines and helping him practice

- i always imagine sasuke to either be into art or smth rlly smart so for this let’s say he majored in some kind of science for college

- so naruto goes on about how amazing sasuke is for like five minutes no joke (w prompts from the interviewer and sakura)

- and all his fans are just so happy bc naruto seemed so happy when talking about him like he was glowing he was so in loveeee

- anyways after u know naruto is our here posting about sasuke 24/7 and even tho sas looks so unapproachable people see how much he loves naruto and visa versa 

- in lives sasuke is always bickering w naruto about anything and everything and it always ends with a kiss on the cheek and a “you’re lucky i love you” :(( 

- suddenly naruto’s feed is just full of sasuke and pictures of them

a very informal breakdown of the first bobs burgers movie trailer

the second trailer for the bobs movie dropped today so i'm gonna do a breakdown of that after this one (probably over two posts because there was So Much) but FINALLY took some screencaps of important-looking moments and im gonna post my thoughts/theories about them below the cut! don't look under the read more if you don't want to see any pics from the trailer (ik some people like to avoid spoilers entirely), or if you don't want to load a bunch of images right now (i have like two dozen screenshots im going to analyze lmao). also fair warning i just screencapped these from youtube on my phone and didnt crop out the borders or the channel bug in the corner

(also pls dont rb this bc there’s a lot of people on this hellsite that i do not want interacting with me, there’s a reason i didn’t put this post in the main tags, just wanted to get my thoughts out somewhere)

ALRIGHT SO the trailer starts with a sexy burger king parody which i did not screencap because there's not really anything to analyze there it's just a (really funny) gag

i bet this scene takes place after the sinkhole shut down the restaurant. why else would they be selling burgers on a cart outside wonder wharf otherwise? also sexy bikini burger linda is rly funny to me

i just wanna point out the thing gene is holding. we see it a bunch throughout the two trailers. it looks like a napkin dispenser with a spoon strapped to the top (or side) and i’m betting this is another improvised musical instrument (see also: tina and louise doing percussion with straws in cups in s5e17)

aerial shot of the kids in a mobile home park/rv park, we see this location several times in the trailers but i don’t remember seeing it before in the show. it’d make sense that there’s a couple mobile home parks in seymour’s bay, it’s possible some of the kids’ schoolmates live there? we see it more, and especially in the second trailer we see it more so i’ll save other thoughts for that post.

this may be from the scene where the sinkhole caves in and a geyser of water (probably a busted water main?) rises up out of it, but the interesting thing i wanted to point out is teddy’s sailor cap. it might be his from when he was in the navy but we also see felix in a sailor uniform later in the trailer...is there a connection perhaps?

same mobile home park, and a kiddie pool full of rubber ducks. idk what’s up with them but there’s a duck in the poster and at the wondercon panel they were giving out rubber duck pins.

the belchers in their living room reacting to something. this is out of left field, but hear me out: what if the big reveal in the movie is that bob is somehow related to the fischoeders? he apparently looks like calvin and felix’s dad, and since his mom figures into the plot in some way, they could be related on bob’s mom’s side of the family. it’s probably more likely that they’re reacting to something on the news but this felt like the most natural place to bring up my big theory

the kids investigating the sinkhole. we see this more in the second trailer but i noticed during my screencapathon that tina is videotaping. i wonder why?

calvin twisting a statue’s nipples to reveal a secret passage or some shit. idk this + a bunch of moments towards the trailer’s end (and in the second trailer) make me more inclined to think he’s heavily involved in the mystery/arc of the movie and not just b/c he’s bob’s landlord and the property they rent is right next to an enormous sinkhole

i don’t doubt that the itty bitty ditty committee (or another band led by gene) could actually perform during the movie but i feel like this particular scene is gene’s fantasy sequence. he LOVES robots (see: his idea of “robot college” in s2e2, the “robot cannibals” poster on the wall in his room, him and alex wanting to be robot djs in s12e5, in the 2021 comic con panel they discussed that the s12 finale is going to take place largely in tina’s robot-laden blade runner-esque friend fiction and gene, being a Robot Guy, will have Opinions), plus the floating city ufo thing does not look like something that would exist in the reality of bob’s burgers; they tend to stick to things that Could exist and anything supernatural-seeming usually has a mundane explanation. the fischoeders are rich but i don’t think even they could afford a floating city

not sure what’s going on here but i’m guessing this is wonder wharf storage based on all the carnival supplies. maybe this is where they got all those rubber ducks? also why would the kids be with calvin and felix...but not bob or linda...maybe it’s confirmation bias but until i have more context this feels like it COULD support my belcher-fischoeder relative theory or at least that they’re involved with the mystery arc. also there he is, sailor felix. no idea why he’s wearing that but it is oh so cute

likewise, they’re at felix’s treehouse here, wonder why... i’m guessing that pulley is for his dirty dishes (and possibly meals in general?) like a dumbwaiter, since he’s also got a catapult for his dirty laundry. maybe the kids got kicked out but louise is gonna try and zipline back down the wire to sneak back in?

louise’s kuchi kopi imagination scenes apparently figure into the plot to some extent...
