I'm going to take a few days off before I start working on the next baby, I need a break from this pattern. I've been working on these guys since mid to late last year, and I'm starting to feel a little bit of burn out ;;

Sometimes getting into plushwork hobby starts with a dream.

And that dream can sometimes be as humble as "Tails looks like a Little Guy ™️in the games."

Flareon pajamas for the  Build a Bear eevee plush.  Made of flannel, like the other two, it has snaps along the bottom.  Due to time constraint, it does not have the pads on the bottoms of the feet.

Aura, ever humble, seems to forgo most adornments. But she does give the brown bear a green scarf with a little button to keep it in place. She also chooses to give it some scents of wood and fruit.

But to bestow a name on it...that was difficult. It had to be a good name, worthy of the great plushworks.

"....Buttons." She says with a nod. Yes. This was the perfect name for this one.

The little oni's eyes shine as she walks through the store with the same reverence one might treat a sacred shrine. Each step is deliberate and quiet in these hallowed halls.

After some browsing, she picks out a bear and proceeds with the rituals to give it softness and love.

Future plans, slight changes, and open thoughts

I’ve admittedly wrote and re-wrote this rant a few times, partially because this was really bad timing to come up when it had, and I’m worse with words than normal at the moment (sick, busy, my focus is split into various directions, the month being kinda a loaded subject personally for me, and other things going on), and also partially trying to kinda parse my words out better to make my points less verbose (hopefully, maybe). 

The tl;dr of what’s to come is I will eventually retire some tags in favor of new ones that will pop up with works moving forward, and some previous works may eventually be updated with these new tags, while others will be retired with retaining the old ones. Trigger warnings, content warnings, and content tags in general, plus tags used in side-blogs like @eriieriidoingathing won’t be changed, however.

I am also debating whether or not to later add other side-blogs in the future for other subjects, or to space out current ones I’m unsure are beginning to feel overwhelming or not, or otherwise best to have their own dedicated side-blog space for regardless.

Specifics about the above points are found under the read more tag. 

With apologies for how rambly this turned out (I’ve been very “pins and needles” for a while now, and I’m a bundle of nerves barely able to form words at the moment), but thank you all once again for your support and patience with me.

Coming soon (unfortunately not immediately, I’m a bit tied up at the moment), you’ll see some things change around for certain tags, particularly tags I use to identify my work, including: “My AO3 things” (update posts for my fics there), “My textile things” (plushwork, crochet, or other physical work), “My dumb photoshop things”, and especially “My art”) to have personal identifying tags that otherwise exclude “me” or “my” or “mine” or variations in light of what’s weirdly currently going on with tags right now. Instead, they’ll be replaced with tags along the lines of “Erii writes”, “Erii crafts”, “Fun with photoshop” or “Erii draws”. 

Not all posts will be updated in this manner, however, but all posts moving forward will carry on this change. The reason being that for a good while, I’ve wanted to get a fresh start of sorts, and while I previously wasn’t sure how to best approach it (short of deleting things), I figured this might be a good opportunity for a split to update some post tags, but not all of them, so as to retire older posts in a way. 

“My kiransona things”, a tag I previously used for my then-untitled AU multiverse project I make work based on every so often, will also get a new tag. I was previously holding back revealing it until I had the comprehensive lore doc fully completed (unfortunately still not done yet), but the multiverse had since gained the name World of a Golden Fate, and all work related to it moving forward will be tagged under this title from now on. 

Despite the tag changes going on, however, things tagged as they are in my side-blog @eriieriidoingathing will continue to maintain the current tags already there. For those unaware, this side-blog is where I reblog most of my work from here and filters the anything-goes style of posting/reblogging I typically have in this blog to focus just on my work on there, and because of how it is already, it wouldn’t be too heavily impacted enough to warrant changing the tags used there. (The tagging system there is tighter and more specific compared to here).

Also, despite recent happenings with ios, I won’t be changing tags related to trigger or content warnings, as I don’t feel comfortable excluding them or risking people’s ability to filter them for their needs, nor confident with my weak english grasp to effectively guess close enough (but not shadow-banned also) terms second-most-likely to describe them (if there even are ones).

The other thing on a semi-related subject I’ve been mulling over is whether or not to add other side-blogs for other subjects, and whether or not it’ll end up being either too spread apart and overwhelming to seek out, or if it’s necessary.

For a while now, with a lot of my focus being poured into World of a Golden Fate, I debated whether it was best to keep it with everything else I generally do (and spaced out with tags), or if it’ll be better suited to have its own side-blog to keep it separated to not overtake everything else. While I’ve debated in the past over other subject matter I was torn whether or not to keep isolated in their own blogs likewise, I didn’t commit to them in large part because I don’t cover them heavily or consistently, just know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea and don’t know if tagging them would be enough. The other concern is consistency on different crafts I do, like whether or not a headcanon space, lore doc space, a dedicated fic-news space, or the like would really be necessary, or best kept here and tagged as currently.

I’ve also been debating it as I’ve been developing something else in the background that is slowly nearing the point I might be able to show things off about it, which also added to this debate.

Thoughts? I’m thinking about how general or specific to create and assign certain side-blogs for and whether or not certain things I do might be either too overwhelming and/or out there that they’re best to separate.

I can already tell this tentacle is gonna be as much of a pain in my ass to sew as it was to cut out. Everything I do with plushwork is 100% handstitched btw, forgot to mention that. That's why it's all slow-going. It's a bit more tedious, but it also gives a work more meaning to me as this is a skill passed down from mother to daughter in my family.

Might just make only one of this one and use a pattern I made for another for the last tentacle.

Started work on a Hermaeus Mora plush today. Got the eye and body cut out, as well as one of the tentacles sewn together and stuffed. Still got a lot of work to do though, will keep updating on it when I can.
