So I found a whole chunk of P&F comics dropped on the P&F wiki and as someone who regrettably threw away the few P&F comics I had, I am super welcome to it.
And Baljeet's line in this particular one is hilarious!
And fuck Monogram, I'd think there are rules against eating meat of the relatives of your agents.
You're all missing the golden friendship dynamic opportunities in Phineas and ferb! Obviously the main cast are all bffs at this point.
But what about:
Bufford and Isabella being the go getter protective duo? They both lobe their friends but they are work out buddies and they protect their friends together. They have weekly pizza, facial, and catchup nights. They're both learning how to get a motorcycle. They're literally eachother's jail call
Phineas and Baljeet are the neurodivergent best friends that spend anywhere from 10 minutes to 10 hours talking about the laws of physics and how they might be flawed. They are arcade buddies. They have study nights because the others just can't keep up with them like the two of them can. When Baljeet or Phineas start a rant, only the other one can fully keep up. (Ferb is pretty good, but he's tired). They go to the library and spend hours on the law of relativity and how to break it.
Ferb and Isabella. It's shown throughout the show that Ferb is fond of the girl, even teasing her! Ferb and Isabella are always trying to keep the group fed and enforcing the saftey of Personal Protection Equipment. Becuase really the others aren't so great at remembering. They're an exhausted dad friend and a half done with it mom friend. They have custody of the group (and extended group). They exchange skin care tips and schedule a group self-care night every week or two.
Candace and Bufford who aren't close really but share a fear of Suzy Johnson. Candace who may try to bust her brothers but woukd die if someone else put them in harm's way. Candace who has shortcomings and flaws as all good characters do. But she's like 15 I think? She knows their friends matter to the boys and maybe she's fond of the group. So Candace and Bufford who are both kinda jerks in their own ways but would do a lot to keep the others safe and happy. A silent team.
I love the idea of Buford being a nerd for Greek/Roman mythology+ history . I guess it makes sense since Greek and Roman history + mythology is very big man history with an emphasis on war hero’s, emperors, etc which would be RIGHT up his alley. But I still think it’s an interesting side of his character
Like he knew the (albeit fake) story of the Gordian Knot, he was super willing to participate in the Trojan War reenactment, even taking a leadership roll, and he was super knowledgeable about the clothing worn by his character.
we already know buford tends to gravitate towards nerdy things so he can be “a kid in a candy store” (Nerds of a Feather) with the amount of nerds around him, but the Trojan War reenactment and the implied book club that preceded it seemed to be just the friends.
I can imagine Baljeet maybe getting him to read the Odyssey or the Illiad and he secretly loves it but he is NOT letting Baljeet know but as he gets more comfortable around his friends, he lets his interests come to light in small ways…
I wonder which ancient historian he likes best? I think he’d be a fan of Plutarch’s parallel lives, because it focuses on the big guys, and their lives and journeys
He’s so cute, he is taking this so seriously. Also the sentiment of “here’s your shield, come back with it or on it” was very of that era, but providing a kit for your army… well
buford going from a stupid mean violent bully to a complex misunderstood intellectual with a talent for playing obscure musical instruments makes a lot more sense when u remember the only reason he became a bully in the first place was to beat up a bigger bully who tried to eat his pet goldfish alive. like buford never did anything wrong and i stand by it
