Gimme Shelter by humapuma (complete |84,377 | E)
Bucky Barnes is a homeless, recovering addict and veteran; he's accepted to a VA homeless shelter pilot program meant to help vets get back on their feet. He has his work cut out for him: he needs to find a job, save money, and find housing, but he's getting sidetracked by his attraction to Steve Rogers, one of the therapists in the program. He's kind, smart, funny, and clearly, in a relationship. But Bucky can't help the feeling that Steve is interested in him too.

Do you know this Christmas fic where Steve let's Bucky (who is homeless) live with him? Thank you!
Coming Home For Christmas by Chiyume (complete |118279 | E)
Steve Rogers is a good man. His friends have told him so on numerous occasions, but this might actually be more bordering on “stupid” rather than “kind”.Because what else would you describe the act of inviting a complete stranger - and thief - into your home over the Holidays?Steve isn’t quite sure what to call it himself, but fact is that when it comes to the case of Bucky Barnes, Steve’s actually pretty okay with being referred to as an idiot, as long as it keep the other man safe. And to Steve’s defence, it had all started out with such good intentions…

Yes we do!
A Tonic For What Ails You (major character death) by Cazio
Steve Rogers is not a man built to live on the streets of Brooklyn. Bucky Barnes is not a man built for war.
Saturdays by fmo
They meet at a soup kitchen. Neither of them knows their name, but one of them goes by Steve.
Or: falling in love and living with poverty in 2014, not 1939.
 War, Children by Nonymos
After Bucky was released from the hospital, it only took him a couple of weeks to give up on himself. Difficult to believe in any kind of future when the simple act of staying alive was almost too big an effort.
Out the frosted window, across the street, there was a tiny homeless guy burrowing under an awning.

I am looking for a long fic that starts with Steve having his morning runs. He sees Post-WS Bucky near a cafe'. Bucky is homeless. Steve starts frequenting the cafe' in hopes to reconnect. He leaves a bag of clothes and other things there for Bucky. He finds out from the waitress whom he befriends that Bucky frequents a soup kitchen run by her aunt. She checks in on Bucky for Steve from time to time. I can't remember anything else.
all that’s coming to mind are these two:
Ain’t No Grave (Can Keep My Body Down) by spitandvinegar
It’s six in the morning, and Steve is heading out on a run when he nearly trips over a bouquet of sunflowers on the front steps of his brownstone.
For a second paranoia takes over, and he kicks the flowers a little, waiting for them to explode. They don’t. They also came with a card, which he picks up. The front of the card has a tasteful picture of the Brooklyn bridge at sunset. It’s very nice and sedate, like the kind of card you would buy to give to your boss. On the inside someone has written a short message in big, shaky block letters.
I AM SORRY FOR SHOOTING YOU.
Steve sits down hard on the steps.
 Sixth Avenue by gossamernotes
Living on the corner of 6th avenue in Brooklyn is not what Adam Jackson expected once he returned home from the war.
And he certainly didn’t expect to become friends with a twitchy veteran named James who carries two pistols and can’t seem to remember shit.
update:
@monalisamontauk brought us this one which feels right. I think it’s the one.
The Blood Will Dry by castiowl
He hates this – the waiting and the hoping. And he’s expected to do both because he’s Captain America, but all Steve Rogers wants to do is punch Hydra in the collective face for scraping up the vestiges of his friend just to haunt him.
Steve goes looking for Bucky, but the Winter Soldier finds him first. Steve isn't exactly qualified to deal with the neurotic mess that is his oldest friend, but he'll try his damndest. In the meantime, Hydra has other plans for Steve, plans that involve someone who looks remarkably like Bucky.

Hello! For the homeless Bucky tag: Home is where the heart is, by sarinspill. :) also there's a fic called The needle and the killing done (I'm not sure the writer and it's bit sad!)
Home Is Where The Heart Is  is actually in the link! it’s not tagged yet, but it’s in the link that was provided.
Thank you for the rec on this one! I’ll add this to the tag right now.
The Needle and the Killing Done (rape/noncon)
The asset wears blue jeans, a t-shirt, a denim jacket. The asset wears one glove. The asset walks around the city. It feels as if it remembers something. It doesn’t know what it remembers. Perhaps it remembers everything.
After two days the insects crawling over the asset’s body become intolerable. The asset uses its metal arm to attempt to remove the insects from the meat arm. The results are not satisfactory.
“What the fuck are you doing, man?” says a pile of refuse.

Hi, I am applying for a grant soon, but I am afraid I won't get it... Is there a story where either Bucky Or Steve fail at something in their life, and slowly build up again, or make the best with what they have/can. Fiction helps me cope. Thank you
Yeah, of course
A Life Most Random (steve’s company fails, bucky gets fired a lot and divorced, plus its cute as hell)
Whether it’s fate or chance bringing them together over the years, Bucky can’t stand that asshole Steve Rogers.
Almost Like An Accident (formerly homeless dropout steve helps out currently homeless bucky)
Bucky’s a ex-POW vet who’s down on his luck. Steve’s a vet who landed a little more on his feet.
It’s Just Temporary (this one is my personal fave in the bunch, they’re both so lost and struggle a lot but they make it out ok!)
Bucky Barnes has no idea what he wants to do with his life and is stumbling from one temp job to the next. Hopefully he can keep his new job at Stark Industries for longer than a week…
No Spirit Standing In The Sun (general struggling and pulling their lives together, maybe not quite what you’re looking for but its very cathartic to read)
Bucky is a disabled veteran having difficulty adjusting to civilian life. Steve is the artist the VA has hired to paint a mural for the clinic. Last time they saw each other, the cops were dragging them away from the only stable home they’d ever known.
Saturdays (clawing their way out of poverty)
They meet at a soup kitchen. Neither of them knows their name, but one of them goes by Steve.
Or: falling in love and living with poverty in 2014, not 1939.
Good luck with your grant! I really hope you get it and that it doesn’t give you too much anxiety.

hi u know any homeless!bucky fic?
Yes I do! enjoy! I stuck to AU I hope thats ok.
Almost Like an Accident
Bucky’s a ex-POW vet who’s down on his luck. Steve’s a vet who landed a little more on his feet.
A Teaspoon of Compassion
It takes a moment but eventually Bucky’s settled into the car, reaching around and snapping the seatbelt in place. He can’t help hunkering down in the seat, noticing how clean the car is. He’s pretty sure he smells rank. He can’t even remember the last time he took a god damn shower.
“My name’s Steve,” Steve says, offering his hand, and a tired smile.

Here You are!
Mini-Mart
Jesse Pinkman got as far as Iowa and took a job on the graveyard shift at a gas station mini-mart. One night, a homeless man comes in, and Jesse can’t stop himself from helping–and ends up getting some help in return.
Find My Way
Well, someone had to write the post-Winter Soldier fic where Bucky gets a decent meal and some homemade apple pie, right?
