The Storm's calamity
Chapter one: New start, nothing new.
Next chapter: The statue that suddenly talked
A/N Hey all, this will be the first of many chapters for the storm's calamity, so enjoy the ride!
"Thank you for choosing the Poptropica ferry line on this long trip, please sit back and relax as we play a video explaining the history of our destination."
Like us long time campers forgot the history of Camp Bravery. I remember the camp's history like the back of my hand, and I know people who know the video word for word. Regardless of my thoughts of protests, the ferry I was on started playing the video explaining the history of Camp Bravery.
"Camp Bravery was founded by four brave adventurers to unite young adventurers from all over poptropica. Located on an island far from other islands, it takes almost two days to reach by ferry. While only two of the original founders remain, the camp is still thriving strong today."
"We have finally arrived at your destination, thank you for choosing us on your journey, and enjoy your time at Camp Bravery."
Finally, my legs needed some exercise desperately. As I grabbed my heavy bag from the floor I made sure nothing was left in my cabin, before heading out into the halls. Walking suddenly felt like something new, instead of a regular thing.
When I finally walked outside I was greeted by the familiar arch, one with damage that showed how many years the camp has been standing for, with moss and cracks along the stone. In big letters the arch read 'CAMP BRAVERY: where adventurers unite'
"Welcome welcome! You know the drill! Head to the statue of Xavier so Amelia can give her speech!" a camp counselor was directing campers, specifically the newer ones, to the right path. I followed the crowd to the statue of one of the greatest adventurers of all time- according to Amelia. Sitting in the benches surrounding the statue, I could make out the familiar lavender braided hair and black dress of my cousin all the way from Fairytale island.
"So with this wand motion and these ingredients, I can make a potion that can change the state of one object- Oh Gwendolyn didn't see you there!"
'Alouette have you seen Maverick yet?" I asked, referring to the chaos male who hailed from goofball island. Alouette shook her head, levitating a few tea leaves with her wand, casting some unknown spell to instantly turn them into tea, specifically dragon leaf tea.
"If I know him, he's trying to make some dramatic entrance again." Alouette answered, handing me the dragon leaf tea. "A speciality on my island, you should try it before Maverick ruins the moment."
Sure enough, in the blue sunny sky was a sudden eruption of colored smoke that scared some of the newer campers. It was hard to miss the silhouette of a young male using a large glider, diving towards the statue at high speeds. However he somehow tripped on air (how?) and landed face first in front of the statue, somehow not injured, yet receiving multiple gasps of surprise from the others.
"Maverick, how many times do I have to tell you about your chaotic misdeeds?" a strict, yet familiar voice spoke, a shadow looming over the campers. Even if you didn't know her, you could tell she was not to be messed with. The Baron, formerly the Red Baroness, one of the two remaining founders of Camp Bravery. And if there's one thing I learned, she really dislikes Maverick's goofball island attitude.
"If I see you trying to paint the sky in nine or any amount of bright hues, or any of your weird chaos, then I might have to out you on Cabin cleaning duty." She said, before moving to the front of Xavier's statue. "Anyways, If you were expecting me to do a speech, that's not my job here. That would be Amelia's job."
"Indeed it is!" Another voice from behind the statue said. Belonging to the second, and less strict founder Amelia. If you had any worries or concerns, Amelia would solve it with either tea, or unicorns.
"Welcome to another year at Camp Bravery, another year filled with exciting opportunities, and hopefully not the sky turning red." She said, causing all of us, except Maverick, to laugh at the comment. "There isn't much we, camp founders, need to announce today, so there's only one last thing to say."
"Let the new camp year start!"

Poptropica headcanons: Xavier
Since we don't know much about him, I kinda wanted to do a little bit of headcanoning.
He started adventuring at a young age, (Late teens or early twenties) and ended up joining the Adventurer's League.
Father figure to Amelia, and was the one to comfort her after her friendship ended with Baroness.
Built his own flying machine. (The blue car machine we see in that one sidequest).
Got scolded by Amelia after she found out he stole his own statue.
Retired shortly after he got his cane.
---
If you have any other characters you'd want me to talk about or give my own headcanons on, just ask me.

For Black History Month, I draw one black Poptropica character a day.
Today is Xavier Pendragon from Home Island!
Xavier is a famous explorer and former member of the Adventurer's League. He had “discovered” many islands in Poptropica, including Goofball Island. He is retired now, and is nice enough to give you his old clubhouse. Amelia used to be his pilot before his retirement.
