So, did Smilling Critters really die out here? Wouldn't there be some kind of way for them to still be alive, or for the prototype to revive them? It's because I would like to see them here in your AU, mainly I would like to see CatNap apologize to them and have an emotional meeting with all of them.

I have been going on and off about letting the other Smiling Critters have a permanent death in my AU or not, but I think that for the "main version" of the AU they will be gone. Permanent type of gone.

In my own headcanons, PickyPiggy ate the remains of CraftyCorn, Bubba Bubbaphant and KickinChicken. I still don't know if I prefer her to have been so hungry she ended up turning on her friends, or if an accident happened and she was so hungry she ate their bodies. Either way, she also tried to attack Bobby, with Hoppy and Dogday stopping it from happening and leaving her behind. Hoppy died during an accident while the trio was running from Catnap, and Bobby died soon after. Again, I don't know how she died: Either a broken heart from losing so many of her friends, or from a critical injury from trying to save Dogday.

I think most of their bodies if not all of them were claimed by the Prototype, so in theory they could be brought back. In practice, however, all of this started because Elliot Ludwig couldn't accept the fact his daughter would be gone and desperately wanted her to have a chance to live. Angel and Prototype both know Dogday and Catnap miss their friends, and the duo's ever-increasing guilt is only going to get worse as they process their trauma, but bringing their friends back from the dead is not the way to do it. Deep down Angel wants to try that, but they can't and shouldn't. And it hurts, yes, but they can't allow the cycle to continue.

... ON THE OTHER HAND. Good God do I wish I could bring these dumb critters back from the dead, or at least make it so that Catnap trapped everyone/sent them to the Playtime Co's equivalent of the shadowrealm or maximum security prison, and Angel has to save them and stitch them back together during chapter 4. OR, EVEN, everyone discovering the other critters were still alive when the authorities go in to investigate the factory and find them very malnourished, but still alive.

IN MY OPINION Picky would have a hard time eating, thanks to her trying to eat her own friends. She goes vegan because even the smell of meat makes her stomach curl, and she decides to try gardening around the isolated house. She can't look most of the other toys in the face due to trauma, but she's trying so hard.

Kickin picked beef with both Mommy Long Legs and Kissy Missy. MLL finds him to be a sort of "annoying little brother", and Kissy is always making an >:( expression with some of the things Kickin tries to do. His way of coping is via trying to fill himself with hobbies. He gets diagnosed with ADHD and surprises no one.

Bobby has abandonment issues, becomes Long Legs' and Kissy's best friend, and now they NEVER leave each other's side. Bobby tries romance books and movies, only to realize what really soothes her anxious mind is, ironically, horror. And Doom. Lots of Doom. She also takes responsibility in helping take care of the younger toys, and I think she's also the first to fully accept Catnap's apologies. She hugs him and he becomes close to crying, then she starts sobbing and they're both hugging each other and crying. Her right arm needs extensive treatment due to her getting it badly injured, though.

Craftycorn has a 50/50 chance of becoming an Youtuber or influencer and no one can't change my mind, girl is the queen of MySpace /j. But being serious, she, much like Bobby, has abandonment issues, but is also TERRIFIED of the dark thanks to Playtime. It also takes her a long time to go back into drawing, and an even longer time to pick up any red pencils. It reminds her of blood. This however does end with her finding out drawing horrifying creatures helps her cope with her anxiety! Second to forgive Catnap and acquires an habit of making outfits and trinkets for the other toys. Also she has to wear braces on her hands and is always grumpy when her hands (hooves?) start hurting.

Bubba... My baby. My poorest boy. Mentally speaking, he seems to be the most well-adjusted, until he finds out he keeps forgetting what he reads or studies. He tries to play it cool, to be a helping hand to poor Dogday and Angel, tries to learn everything from the other toys so he can start making plans on what he wants to do for this future, but he just. Can't think about a future. And a few months later it's 3AM and he can't stop crying and chewing on his own pillows, and he feels awful and he keeps forgetting things and why does every little thing bothers him SO much, his recovery has been going so well, why is it happening? And then the flashbacks happen, and oooh boy, he does NOT escape the PTSD and burnout diagnosis. Much like Craftycorn he's extremely grumpy about his symptons, but Bobby and Crafty are trying to help him be kinder to himself.

Hoppy would probably need at least an year or two to physically recover from her injuries. She hates the fact her legs got so badly hurt during her time at Playco, and for the first few weeks she's grumpy, very easily startled, and very mean to others. It takes her the longest to even look at Catnap without wanting to murder him. Catnap sometimes wishes she had never started to forgive him, because now the only one left to forgive him is himself. Also I think Hoppy is the second one hit with the ADHD diagnosis, surprising no one.

Also. Ahem. All of them are besties with Miss Delight, who helps some of them try to understand Catnap more. Our big feline is constantly worrying about hurting his friends again and his guilt is eating him from the INSIDE OUT, but at least Dogday is there to help him. Speaking of which!

Don't tell anyone but Dogday has been smoking and drinking. He's 21, tired, and therapy is a long process. He thinks he's hiding well from everyone else (he can't be a bad example to them!) until, again, 3AM hits and he sees Mommy Long Legs smoking and Catnap coming back from the Prototype's barn smelling like alcohol. So all three of them stare at each other like "...", until they hear something falling down inside.

Surprise surprise, it's a drunk Angel.

THANKFULLY. These bad habits will eventually go away as, again, they recover from the trauma and start finding healthier coping mechanisms. But until then everything is MESSYYYYYY

... Okay now I'm once again reconsidering the idea of bringing them back from the dead or not rip-

Completely ignoring TFP lore for a second, AU where rumble and Frenzy reunite with Soundwave & none of the cassettes are actually dead.

Rumble/Frenzy: as the war grew hotter they used more ground bridges to get from point a to b. Mad that Soundwave was using groundbridge technology for the enemy (decepticons) Sentinel sabotages the bridge. So when Soundwave sends Rumble & Frenzh on a recon mission, the bridge misfires and displaces them. They end up is a different realm similar to how Soundwave ended up in the shadow realm. Soundwave pledges his loyalty to Megatron and operates the groundbridges because he is still searching for their signal. He knows they're still alive because of the bond. It's mainly inactive but every once and in a while something comes over the bond. Then later: instead of Soundwave being trapped into the shadowrealm, Rumble and Frenzy as spit back out on earth. The autobots care for them temporarily.

Buzzsaw/Ravage: after what had happened to Rumble & Frenzy, Soundwave didn't want to risk it and sent the both of them off with a friend (who is flexible. Sometimes I HC Cosmos before he choses sides. Could even be a filler OC honestly). Later post war they end up reuniting with the rest and soundwave is like,"if they died I would have been in way worse condition. They were obviously alive. Don't y'all know anything about hosts??"

sure you've watched horror movies and those were probably scary but have you ever played lethal company when everybody is experiencing terrible game breaking debilitating lag to the point of two out of three of you not being able to move or speak, while the third is teleported to the shadowrealm in dead silence, having teammates voices echo so much that you feel as if you are going insane, being unable to move and you begging and screaming "CAN YOU HEAR ME PLEASE" and then hearing your other teammate plead "please please please I don't wanna do this I don't wanna do this" and then the other one desperately trying to wrangle you both with "I CAN HEAR YOU I CAN HEAR YOU STOP TWEAKING"

have your teammates been so out of sync with both of you that they run around yelling "I CANT MOVE THE CABINETS I CANT MVOE THE CABINETS" and you have to say "SAY AMONG US WHEN YOU HEAR THIS" and hearing "among us" a full minute later

have you ever watched your lethal company teammates slowly devolve into insanity as you do so as well, begging them to not leave you behind if you lag because the loneliness of being stuck in time is insane

literally I feel like I aged twenty years and developed thirteen seperate mental illnesses I wish there was a proper way to describe how atrocious that was i promise you whatever you are feeling from reading this post is not even comparable to the dread of laggy lethal company dear god

Hello, hi, just wanted to give you a quick notice: your blog seems to be bugged or something. You don't show up in notifs nor in the like/reblog/comment section on posts. I could only find your blog again because I remembered someone tagging you (and it could redirect me here). Maybe it's a problem on my end, but it's really weird and I thought you should know!

Yeah, so it seems. I've been trying to tell people about probably being the source of ghost notes.

My old blog already seemed to have half its asks dissappear in people's inboxes and contacting support did nothing. The straight up invisible ghost notes didn't seem to start until soon after I made an original post to the palestine tag, so I'm sus as he'll about that.

I don't really know what to do about it at this point though. Remaking my account didn't seem to help my shadowban issues from before. I'll mess around with a few things again and see if it works, but I'm not hopeful.

The people have spoken, Laurance is the reincarnation of thee shad

I’ll do some small shad lore in this post this just a small one not too much

Shad was close friends with the divine warriors long before they were divine. This was when Shad was about 13years old and a peasant mortal from the shadow realm, one day a wyvern broke the barrier between the realm’s and shad was able to go through without a scratch. When he touched the green earthy grass , he’d be lying if he said he didn’t have a sensory overload of colors and light. While he was adjusting to this new world he heard crackling of leaves coming from a near by path he hit as fast as he can before someone can see him. As the steps grew closer, the louder his hearts seem to be pounding in his ears. He jumped out from his hiding spot behind a tree and just saw a human girl short tanned skin and pitch black hair. He had met Irene and he would also be lying if he didn’t admit that she was a pretty girl, but he did, immediately by calling her a monster and Irene the same. For a couple of moons shad would visit the overrealm to banter with Irene and slowly Irene brought some of her friends such as Enki, Esmund, Menphia, and Kulzak. The first time Shad felt like he belong that he made true friendship , kinda sad he had to venture out of his realm to make friends… but friends neither the less.

Now for some personal info about shad teehee

Shads a total mamas boy he loves his mom

He’s an only child with a single mother

Shads a being of the shadow realm, he has darkened Hands and feet and pointed ears, they’re shadowpeople one power they usually have is that they can hide well in shadows. Are they larger than the overealm beings? Not really they do have more magicks within their genetic makeup though

Shad just like Laurance ofc is a raging Bisexual

How does Laurance find out that he’s the reincarnation of shad??

So I will eventually design the relics because I heart the relic loreee mmMmmMm , but that’s NOT NOW‼️‼️ as I said Shad relic was passed down by his bloodline over thousands of years and yes Shad had a kid that ISNT THE ONE FROM MYSTREET I’m not even gonna.. anyways Shad banged ok and had a kid with some chick so technically Aarons has a bit of Shadowpeople genetics in him ;). Laurance finds out pretty early or at least he kinda has a hunch. When Laurance is healing from the shadow realm in aphmaus home he has these vivid nightmares of his own POV grieving in what seems like the Shadowrealm and him creating shadow knights from corpses of human beings. The nightmares goes away after Laurance is heard sobbing in his sleep from Zoey, she puts a comfort spell in his sleep and the nightmares just become dreams and it’s happy memories of these blurred out faces of Preteens and teens Going on adventures and using magic. Of course Laurance doesn’t think too much of this until Zane becomes a bigger threat and everyone’s doing research on relics and the divine warriors, Shad is almost wiped out of religious and history books at least his name but the destroyer comes up A LOT. Some of the books sound familiar to Laurance even if he wouldn’t even know how he would know it’s like a sick sense of déjà vu. Truly Laurance finds out that he’s at least a PART of shad when he goes back to the shadow realm due to the calling and the corpse of Aaron is waiting for him being reanimated by Shads other part of his soul.

Bruh Laurance fr is having so much internal battles in himself he’s not quite dead not quite alive and brother doesn’t even have a completed soul‼️‼️ this dudeeeee he’s still my fav he’s still silly

just to let it out there THIS AARONS OUTFIT ISNT MY REDESIGN I’m still plotting ( I am keeping his stupid eye mask it just has holes in it now… also it’s Jacob’s shirt :3) anyways back to the mainnnn subject

I just can’t decide is the clear deal I got two ideas that I’ll share right now that I’m torn , to let it be clear, shad and Irene aren’t romantic partners in this rewrite ( but honestly I’m mixed opinioned on it )

Aaron ! Just plain and simple, he’s the reincarnation of shad because of his bloodline being connected, the relic was pass down generations until Zane stole it. Aaron never absorbed the relic because he honestly did not know what it was since by generation to generations the story grew thin and fictitious. He is a DIRECT descendant of shad , great great and so on and so forth grandson of shad

Laurance ! Now shad is Aaron’s great ancestor and Aaron looks horrifyingly similar to shad, but that’s all a red herring. Laurance is the true reincarnation of shad his soul decided to choose Laurances life as its new life, or at least part of shads soul. Laurance of course he doesn’t know he’s the reincarnation of this ancient evil, and he doesn’t find out until his calling to the shadow realm. While Laurance was being made into a shadow knight the essence of shad who had been just a shadow that roamed the halls of his castle, felt a sudden urge to follow its tug until eventually he sees Laurance surrounded by his shadow knights. Until ungrth crashed into the walls and rescuing Laurance. The reason why Laurances calling is so much louder and way more aggressive is because part of shad is calling him out personally, he wants his soul back and he doesn’t want to wait any longer.

THAT A QUICK LIL THING ANYWAYS BTW THIS DOESNT MEAN LAURANCE WOULD DIE IN SEASON2… THATS THATS still Aaron and there’s a reason for that, which I’m not gonna say because I love keeping people on edgeeither way one decision or the other it doesn’t matter to me Aaron in my rewrite is important just not a romance interest.. ( that doesn’t mean Alina doesn’t exist btw )

Silverspoon:

Alright, you are a kid, in a grades=success=everything oriented family (and your dad is an unemotional asshole).

You try super hard in middle school for your highschool placement, but get burned out, and only place in middle of the ranks, so you can't get into the elite schools your parents want.

All you want to do is get as far away as possible.

So you look for a boarding school that doesn't have crazy requirments cause you don't have brilliant grades, and you don't give a shit where you are as long as it is far away.

Congrats! You are at a farming school, in the dairy program! Where (almost) everyone is going to take over their parents farm, knows all the practical aspect of what they are doing, and half of them already know eachother!

Ooh, there is a pretty girl on horse! She is a member of the horse club! You need to join a club... may as well join the horse one, what could go wrong? LPT: You will need to wake up 5 am every day, that could wrong.

But hey, at least you are smarter than everyone here? Right? Well....yeah, except in their fields of farming related intrest, so they know about cloning and shit....at a Uni level.... And uh... the ones that you are smarter then will take up all your time for helping them to pass math.

But Hey! It's a manga about farming! It'll all be good! Right?

Sure! Except for bonding with and then killing animals for Food.

Or dealing with the economic reality of small farms that are just one bad month away from bankruptcy!

It does the complete character depth, intense emotions that you expect from her, just in an odd setting.

You learn a lot about the farming industry you wouldn't have otherwise. And just... fucking great!

Daemons of the Shadowrealm:

Hey, your a kid (or...late teen?). You live in a backwater village you never left. Your parents died... or something? when you were little. And your sister is kept in prison (for her own good!).

Everything is peachy keen! Except for the random people who try to kill you when out hunting. Who, tbh, have real strange underwear.

At least until a FUCKING PARAMILITARY DEATHSQUAD COMES OUT OF FUCKING NO WHERE MURDERS HALF YOUR VILLAGE, USING DEMONS AND MACHINE GUNS!

Not that you know what a gun is. But that's ok, you have a pair of Demons all to yourself now. Apparently?

Oh and your sister is one of the people attacking the village. Or at least someone who claims she is your sister.

And you escape, with some people from the village.

You learn that you are half of a destined pair of twins that shows up every once in a while, one with the power to break things, the other to fix em.

And the village only exists to bread you.

And your powers only show up after you die one time. So the random people trying to kill you had been sent by the village to unlock your powers.

Oh, and again, THERE ARE FUCKING DEMONS! ALL WITH DIFFERENT POWERS! WHAT THE FUCK?

Insert high levels of moral ambiguity.

High levels of hilarity "What do you mean I can't use my bow to hunt squirrels in the park? What is a 'shower'?"

and classic brilliance.

10/10, only bad part is it is a monthly.

Now, Everyone can agree that the Fullmetal Alchemist Manga is a banger (I assume both animes are too, but I haven't watched 'em so no comment).

What a bunch of people don't know is that the artist/writer Hiromu Arakawa has written 2 other original works (one is complete the other is ongoing.

Silver Spoon: About a kid from Tokyo who, to get away from the demands of his parents/the stress of academia, attends a Farming School in the middle of nowhere where he is p.much the only one without a farming background. Hilarity, character development, etc. ensues.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm: A dude is raised in a mountain village, farming, hunting. etc. Until one day a fucking helicopter comes out of nowhere, his village is 50% slaughtered, turns out that the village existed for the sole purpose of breeding him and his sister, and it is not the 1400s anymore. Oh and Demons are a thing. Violence, humour, character development, etc. ensue. (This one is ongoing)

Now they are both 10/10, and I highly reccomend reading them both But that is not the point of this post.

She has drawn hundreds, if not thousands of faces at this point, so it is no surprise that you will see some repeats between the mangas.

BUT DO YOU KNOW HOW JARRING IT IS TO SEE EITHER INCARNATION OF GREED, HIS CREW, OR ROY FUCKING MUSTANG HANGING OUT IN A SCHOOL TALKING ABOUT COW BREEDS?

REALLY FUCKING JARRING! (somewhat less jarring to see them in tactical gear murdering people, or speaking with demons, cause that feels slightly in character)

Anyway, that aside, if you liked her worldbuilding, realism, in depth characters, approach to romance, etc. I do really reccomend them both.

(She also did another one entitled 'The Heroic Legend of Arslan' but as I haven't read it yet and it is a collaboration, I didn't mention it above)

I think sex can reveal sometimes weird corners of characters' psyches--like my view that Alberto really likes bottoming for reasons that go beyond it just feeling physically pleasurable--but it still pales in comparison to other things. And if you go into detail, it takes so many words to describe so that it makes physical sense. I wound up feeling like, "Damn, Alberto, glad you're getting railed like you want, but I'm exhausted from writing all this."

Sorry -- am writing a big post about raceplay. If I get sent to the shadowrealm, it's been an honor.

ANYWAY, LMAO. I definitely think it depends on what it is -- would my stories be better explorations of these topics without the sex, or with sex alongside other avenues of characterization? Probably. But a finished clusterfuck is worth more than a million unwritten masterpeices. I also tend to focus on the emotional stuff to gloss over that physical detail, because like you I find it very draining to write. "And then he put his thingie into my you know what and we did it for the first time" is how I sound to myself whenever I try to be super detailed in my smut. I think a good general tip for anyone else reading this is to focus on a few of the details you /personally/ find super hot and gloss over a lot of the rest-- most fanfic audiences don't have high standards for smut anyway, let's be fucking real. If it's written at all coherently we're having a good day, lol.
