Im playing a new game of fnv (as one does) and doing all the goodsprings stuff (as one does) and I not only managed to kill all the geckos before the random lady dies, but also I managed to do so little in the fight against the powdergangers that they only slightly dislike me. And we won with no one dying. I think this character might be blessed.

One thing I love to do in RPGs (Bethesda mostly) is to kill villains early. Like, obviously you can’t just kill Alduin in Helgan but like for minor villains it can be quite satisfying to simply end the problem then and there. Usually someone else steps up to the plate to Cary out the scheme but it’s still satisfying to play a no nonsense hero. Like, in Goodsprings in New Vegas, when the local Powderganger leader tries to seize the town. At first I didn’t notice him, but on my second play through (and every one after that) I just shot him then and there. I usually don’t even ask who he is, I just know that some asshole threatening a bartender in a small town in Nevada probably isn’t an upstanding citizen. I also did the opposite (killing a villain I knew wouldn’t be a problem later) when I was taking down the Omertas to stop them from gassing Vegas. I helped one member (a rapist and murderer himself) take down the family bosses, then as he was preparing to leave, I shot him. He was scum too and I had no reason to let him hurt more people now that I didn’t need him anymore. Then I killed every Omertà in the club, because the Courier doesn’t do half measures!

I remember in Fallout 4 (current playthrough) I was escorting a ghoul child to find his ghoul family and some Gunner bastard tries to buy him! I actually knew what was going to happen (he shows up later at the house and tries to kidnap the family) and was looking forward to the fight... but I also realized that it didn’t make sense to let him go. He was low on hp from a raider fight and just admitted to being a human trafficker. Not only that but given that the Gunners are some of my worst enemies (remember Quincy!) and one of my party members was on the run from them, why would I ever let him go? So I shot him. He died. The end. No one even showed up at the end because he didn’t get the chance to tell them. I still can barely believe he thought it was a good idea to try to buy people from me, why would you assume that someone escorting a child would be willing to sell? Who does that? I did the species a favor. I also love how even if he lived he would have picked a fight with me.

I was wearing a suit of power armor and I don’t remember who was with me (Cait, I think) but all of my companions are pretty obviously not to be fucked with.

“Ok, give us the family and no one gets hurt!”

“No. You don’t get to make demands, I have a motherfucking mini gun. I would make an intimidating counter demand to leave and never return or die, but I’m honestly so annoyed right now that I’m just going to kill all of you to blow off steam.” I honestly don’t get how they thought they stood a chance.

@go-go-powdergangers we tried looking for another one but its pretty much impossible now that the trip is only a week away, we’d have to bounce between different airbnbs every day and so we’d lose the nice discount from booking a week at a time in the same place but what I wanna know is WHO BUILDS A HOUSE LIKE THAT

You know it feels weird how I see plenty of similarities between the situation of NEW VEGAS añd Skyrim. Empire= NCR, Thalmor= Legion, Stormcloaks= House/Independent, Forsworn= Powder Gangers. What do you thing?

Rofl that’s pretty apt actually, so I agree, though maybe not House for Stormcloaks since house immediately killed the Kings for making peace with the NCR, And aside from occupying the cities Ulfric was smart enough not to do that after he won. Then again house had an immortal robot army at his command amongst a band of yokels so it’s not like he had any reason to fear.I’d also say lol the Forsworn dont deserve to be compared to the powdergangers, the powder gangers at least had a legitimate reason to be salty.
