day 47 - dec 18, 2017

I’ve been trying to post some pictures for the longest time, but the wifi here isn’t good enough to upload any of them. :(

Today was the first time in a long time that I woke up without a fever! I made a quick breakfast, and even packed a lunch to bring with me to the waterfront cafe that we went to. I was a bit worried at first I would get told off for eating my own food, but I was good. :P It was raining when we went out, and when the weather started cooling down again my fever came back. :(

But before that, after we had lunch at the cafe, we made our way to Wairakei Natural Thermal Valley, a short 30-minute walk. It was like a little farm right outside! There was a white fluffy dog, rabbits, chickens, ducks, peacocks, pheasants, and even sheep and alpaca??? Or were they llamas? I’m sticking with alpacas. It was AWESOME. I was sooo happy with this unexpected surprise. But after the walk, I got super tired. We went back to the Taupo waterfront, thinking of trying out this golf range type thing, where you drive the golf balls out to this little platform in the water. If you get a hole in one, you win $10,000 or some other prizes. Obviously none of us won hahaha. It was pretty chilly by this point, and that’s when I felt my fever creep back. Toby and Chris wanted to go the hot springs after this, but I stayed in with Alan because I felt like shit. I had some toast, took my meds, and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Toby and I are best man and maid of honor (respectively, lol) to our best friends’ wedding, so we spent some time trying to figure out our wedding surprise for them. We’re thinking of doing an interview-type video that transitions into a music video. Idea still in the works. :P

Ohhhhh yeah, my blood test results came in today. So it turns out I have a viral infection, nothing too serious so I feel super relieved. They also told me I have very slight anemia, nothing too urgent, but that I should definitely see a doctor about it at some point.
