Weight gain as way to stay
Some countries have relaxed visa regimes with other countries like you can spend up to 90 days in country A if you citizen of country B.
There are variations about 180 days limit. But lets pick 90 days limit as more extreme.
Like, imagine if feedee arrive to country A to a feeder, and have goal to become immobile, by gaining 300 kg (the most extreme option of them all) in 90 days.
I know about person who gained 15 kg in 30 days, by taking paid culinary courses, and than she ate all what students cook during lesson. Bonus - she also knew after that after courses how to cook various interesting stuff. Like goose with apples.
But this is not related to puzzles like gaining 300 kg in 90 days.
Well, shorter person can pregain a bit before that, like be 100-120 kg at start of all that, and than can have goal of gaining another 180-200 kg during that 90 days period.
For 180-days visa free period, if someone will gain like 180 kg in 180 days, sounds more realistic, but lets keep the puzzle hard.
Like this:
is it possible to gain 300 kg in 90 days? (or other similar "lightweight" scenarios mentioned above about 180 kg added to 120 kg etc.)
if so, what will happen, if formally someone must be deported due the strict visa/migration regime, but person in question is literally immobile mountain of pure fat?
I find this as an interesting premise for a weight gain series, an interesting legal puzzle, and also it can be sorta an obesity-friendly way for migration to more fat-friendly environment or at least to more developed country in hope for more better (fatter, obviously) life and future.
These WG stories or whole WG novel can be centered around some conspirative charity that help feedees/gainers to migrate that way, but I guess it may sound like sci-fi weigh gain novel, than exploration of a realistic scenario. Or I am too pessimistic here and it is possible?

I've done it wrong! You too? Actually there is no right or wrong when it comes to art, and mixing is kind of an art except from the technical part. You got it: when it sounds good it is good! BUT there are a few things that can make it a lot easier. And for a long time I didn't understand how important it is to get a really good rough mix. I've focused very early on very specific details in the mixing phase. The problem was that I came from one detail to the next and spend a lot of time on things that are actually not even audible in the final mix. Or I've tried to fix some issues with a lot of plugins for instance but actually it would have been better just to pull up the fader a little bit. The actual mixing can be some much more creative when you get a really good rough mix first. By the way, it also helps a lot when you set up the complete session first, before you start to mix. That means set up your group channels, reverb- and delay-sends and such before you start to mix. This way you have all the tools you probably need directly at your hands. Limit yourself on just the volume (gain staging, pregain, clip gain, faders) and the panorama. In some cases it can help to high- and low-cut in this phase, but focus more on volume and panning first. What makes a good rough mix? An emotional connection. Spend time on your rough mix until you start to "feel" the song. When your foot starts to tap the beat for instance you know you are getting into the ballpark. It's a little hard to explain but I think you guess what I mean 😜 If you have a better explanation for what makes a good rough mix, feel free to drop it in the comments 😊 #homerecording #producers #homestudio #bedroomstudio #audioengineer #recording #independentartist https://www.instagram.com/p/Cosjll4MB2o/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Aye, 40K Roleplayers, Wanna Talk Wrath & Glory?
It’s been a few months since it was announced we’re getting a bran-spanking new 40k roleplay! On the wake of the death of Dark Heresy 2e- and other games licensed to Fantasy Flight Games, it was some fantastic news to me personally. I know a lot of folks haven’t heard about it, since GW is not really talking about it at all, but I’ve been keeping up on the designer diaries of the game for some months now! That being said, gosh I’m not sure how I feel about it anymore. :o
So, if you’ve known my GM habits at all, you’ll know I am not a procedural GM. Crunch is not my jam, at all. I don’t like to be bogged down by heavy rules, instead, I love free-flowing systems I can do whatever I want with without a player checking the rulebook every five minutes to argue with me. Though, if I gotta do a procedural game, I’m doing a D100 system. BRP, Call, Eclipse Phase, Delta Green, Dark Heresy, and the like. I know those inside and out, and prefer the percentage tests over a D20 target number roll any day of the week. Wrath & Glory is neither of those things.
From what I’ve seen so far, it is a D6 based dice pool system. A style of engine I personally find very hit or miss. I love 7th Sea, being a D10 dice pool system, but most D6 systems I’ve used have fallen flat. I don’t know what it is about them, but they just haven’t been my jam. Sooooo, I’m a little on the fence about that. I don’t have much to say about the base die engine as it’s just a pool, and I’ll have to see it played to really get a feel. Totally share your thoughts, if you have any on pool systems! I know I am probably alone in my initial skepticism.
Something said by the design team is that they want a system that can easily display a Guardsman wrestling with a genestealer cultist, while also showing off an Eldar Farseer negotiating with a Rogue Trader. I love that. I adore that concept. Please, totally give me a system where I can accurately show off every aspect of the vast, vast setting that 40k can be! Let me run games of all orks, Eldar, or Tau! That would be so fun! I’ve written a massive campaign ages ago using the RT ork rules, but found I was never satisfied with the similarities ork characters would end up showing with each other. If this game could give me this massive chunk of options, I would finally run my Gorkamorka Tomb World campaign!
See, that is great. That is something I’ve always wanted from a 40k rp; however. Is this freedom too free? We just don’t know yet, but how accurately will you be able to show the difference between a Dark Eldar and a Necron in a dice pool system? That’s one concern of mine, another would be... well, it doesn’t seem friendly to new play groups or new GMs. In an industry that’s tripling in size, its best to make things approachable by all, I say. One thing I KNOW that turns off a new player is a lack of focus. This game is offering, as far as I’ve read, the whole galaxy as a playground in the core rulebook. Unless they market it with actual campaign frames- such as Dream Hounds of Paris for Trail of Cthulhu, then it could be a little intimidating if focus and pregained knowledge of lore is not present. That, honestly, isn’t a big problem if you’re only selling to warhammer fans. Hammies? What do we call ourselves?
Anyways, I am so excited for this game, and also wondering a very important question: will it offer anything that will make me just forget Black Crusade or Dark Heresy is an option? Or, as I suspect, will the D100 games simply just be better at basics? They have their focus, as imperial as it is, and that’s more appealing to a GM who doesn’t already have a massive idea in their throbbing brain.
Well, we will just have ta see, huh? Anyone else excited, and a little nervous? How about just excited?

More work on the transition (translation?) from animation to music...
2017.11.12 need to turn to audio
thinking about single-valued events rather than envelopesthough realistically that means ASR envs with fixed AR times, or maybe dynamic AR (potentially with A and R sharing a single value) and you may still want some flexibility here: FM index and wave shaping pregain as places where you want ramps
implies that on vs. off is the crucially defining state pushes towards looping and repetition rather than linear evolution (though you needn’t give up on trajectory just yet) thinking more about the pattern, and less about the individual sound event
what would be a meaningful signal processing chain? (and meaningfully different from Xenoglossia) (dual) FM oscillators waveshaper Moog VCF simulation ...this is very short!
single-valued *events* are fine but you are still going to need complex patterns rather than single-values repeated over time - pitch is one thing but say FM index, wave shaping pregain, and filter cutoff/resonance are quite another (and if you can get some beautiful polyrhythms working with that then so much the better!)
convincing myself that slower forms of audiovisual sync than note-by-note are going to be preferable; what if the global visual oscillation also drove the mixing of layers in audio?

Do you have trouble sometimes getting the levels right? I've had trouble too and I still struggle sometimes when I start a new mix. They are all talking about "get your gain staging right". And this is what it's all about and it truly helps. Here is what I figured out about gain staging: You can control your volume of a track with your fader, but it should not be the first move. The fader actually controls the output of each single track but before you set up the output level you have to set up the input first. I think there a several ways to control the input level either by clip gain or there is a separate gain knob in the pre section of your mixer. It's important to get the input level or pregain right before you add further processing to the signal because that will make it much easier to use plug-ins for example. This way you can make sure you hit the plug-in with a proper level and you don't have to readjust that much to prevent it from clipping etc. By the way: always keep an eye on the levels of your plug-ins. Input and output levels. Once you have set up your rough mix the plug-ins should not affect the volume of your track too much except you have a proper purpose. Also some plug-ins react different depending on how hard you hit them. Especially emulations from analog gear. Sometimes I start a rough mix just by setting all the faders to zero and getting the levels with the pregain knob first. Another reason for setting up the input level of your track to a proper level with your fader set at zero is automation. You might have noticed that your fader around zero reacts different than at the half way down for example. The more you bring your fader down the faster the signal gets quieter. What can make it way different to write proper automation with a fader that is just moving in the bottom third. There is a lot more to know about gain staging like "noise floor", "dynamics", "saturation", "loudness" and so on. But I think this is where it all begins and to get a fundamental understanding about how levels are processed through the channel this would be a good place to start with. Any other advice on this topic? 😉 #mixing #homerecording #daw https://www.instagram.com/p/CnQEXLCMPDi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
