I think one of the prettiest times of day is right after sunset. When the top of the sky is the pale blue of those little forget me not flowers and the bottom fades to the deep calming blue of the blue gentian flowers.
When the sky is filled with promise of the stars that have yet to reveal themselves to the world.
When the shadows steadily grow longer until the they join together into the night and the moon appears to grow more and more bright as her presence becomes known. She was always there watching, as we scurry around are busy lives.
We rarely take the time to truly appreciate the moment of change when the day gives out to the night.
When Apollo’s golden chariot has just landed in the soft grass after finishing his climb over the sky and the world let’s out a breath of relief that it did not know it was holding as it settles in for the night.
I feel as if the world is smiling down at me, telling me everything will be okay. I feel seen.
The world grieves the change that is being made from day to night as she celebrates.
She remembers the day and all it’s challenges and successes and failures. And she grieves the mistakes made and the fact that another day passed that can’t be brought back.
and yet the world is laughing when she opens her arms wide to the growing night sky as tears stream down her cheeks.
She welcomes all of her children to her side and smiles down on all of them.
“You have done well,” She says.
“You have lived.”
