"at least this means we dont have to worry anymore." kaachan shrugs, you snap your head towards him,

"what do you mean?"

"I mean usually theres only like one, right? meaning we're most likely in the clear." you nod, you honestly forgot kaachan existed there for a sec, he was just so...quiet.

"kaachan c'mere, you too deku." the former looked at you weirdly but complied, while the latter bounced over to you.

you briefly let go of dabi and pulled shoto with you, and hugged all three of the young boys closely.

you knew that them and ingeniumu were in the same classes all through highschool, and they joined headquarters together, to lose a friend like that...you couldn't imagine it.

shoto grabbed onto your arms again, hugging himself close to you, deku, wrapped his arms around you and kaachan -surprisingly- leaned into you, he didnt hug you back but he showed his appreciation and a few sniffles could he heard from all of them.

"c'mon guys, we just have to finish our tasks and soon enough we'll be home, okay?" they nod and slowly pull themselves off of you. "ill show you guys my place and we'll get froyo, all of us,"

shoto lets out a small smile whereas deku didnt hide his, even kaachan didnt bother hiding the goofy smile that broke through.

during your time together you had become a bit of a mother towards the three, especially kaachan and shoto, deku already having a healthy relationship with his mum.

as deku and shoto walk away, kaachan lingered.

"thanks." he mumbles, looking at his feet, you hold his cheek in a protective way

"no problem kaa, now shoo, go with deku," kaachan smirks and walks away.

dabi almost regretted when the moment ended, but was happy to have you in his arms again.

"that was sweet."

you hum, "yeah, your gonna have to include those kids in our little life plan you wrote," you smirk up at him, teasing him about the page you found a couple months ago, which was filled with things he wanted to do with you.

"shup up," he smiled, genuinely smiled at you, and you leant up to give him a peck on the lips.

"wonder, you ready to go?" you turn slightly to see hawks, and you pout.

"actually, do you mind if I take her from now? you and shoto can team up," hawks shrugged.

"sure! ill rescue shoto and let him be with someone cool for once!" hawks laughed as dabi was obviously annoyed.

as everyone went off with their group to finish their task you couldnt help but think.

you were glad fun loving hawks was back, you were glad everyone was back to normal actually. you dont think you guys would ever officially be healed but the thought that this was over made you happy.

dabi tugged on your hand and you looked towards him.

"can I kiss you?"

you blushed, he never outright ASKED, but you nodded anyways, filling with electricity as he cupped you cheeks and smashed his lips on yours.

you both moved in synch, as you ran your fingers through his hair and lightly tugged at times, knowing that made him go feral and right now you just wanted to forget.

you thought of how ingeniumu would react to finding you and dabi like this, the kid would probably start waving his arms and going berserk, thirteen would probably have to calm him down and tell him that it's fine, he's always nice like that.

or, he WAS always nice like that.

you felt dabi pull away and you were about to question it until you felt the tears on your cheek yourself.

"what's wrong doll?" he cupped you face and you saw worry in his eyes.

"n-nuthin." you hiccup, the weight of the reality of this situation finally crashing down on you.

they were dead, they really were dead.

"is it because of, yknow?" he jerks his head towards the cafeteria, referencing exactly why you were crying.

you let out a sob as you bobbed your head.

"awh, c'mere doll," dabi cooed and grabbed the back of your head, pulling you in for a tight hug and his other hand slipped around your waist, softly squeezing to show support.

"t-theyre go-gone! a-and ingeniumu will n-never be the-there to sco-scold us ag-gain and a-and and-" you hiccupped out, they were gone, they were really fucking gone.

"shh shh doll, it will be okay, think about having froyo with the kids and me, how about we make it a tradition? every Sunday how about?" you slightly nod as he moves his hand around you head to cup your cheek, whipping your tears, "yeah? and with me, you, kaachan, deku and shoto, we'll all have froyo each sunday, and when we eventually have kids we'll bring them along too,"

you hum, that did sound nice.

"kaachan would probably try to teach them how to probably beat up deku before they reached 5," you let out a laugh, he would do that.

"and if they didnt learn how to properly throw a right hook on their own before 3, he would probably stay up all day and night to make sure," your voice sounded croaky but dabi still smiled.

"exactly. even if we have to change the life plan a little bit it will still be our life plan, and we're gonna spend it together," you smile and look up at your boyfriend.

"thank you touya," you lightly kiss his cheek,

"anything for you doll,"

he went to kiss your lips again before both of your watches beeped, an emergency meeting.

you both ran back towards the cafeteria, deku, shoto, twice and hawks already there, where was kaachan?

hawks seemed to catch your eye looking throughout the room, and spoke up, "kaachan is dead."

suddenly it felt like everything came crashing down.

you didnt understand, he was- he was there and alive! and your plans- oh god you cant go for froyo now.

it seemed silly to worry about that but you were panicking, it was what you were supposed to do!

you stared at hawks, "n-no. no. hes not dead."

hawks took a step forward, "wonder-"

"no! he- he cant be dead! t-the froyo and the the-" dabi grabbed you and pulled you into his chest again, your newly dried eyes watering again but you just pathetically leaned into your boyfriend. "he cant be dead." you whimpered.

dabi affectionately rubbed your back, "it's okay doll, its gonna be okay,"

everyone stared at you in sympathy, they were all affected but it was obvious you were struggling.

twice had a different look though, like guilt, one that hawks didnt miss.

"hey twice?"

he snapped his head up towards the blonde, "yeah?" his voice slightly cracked.

"where were you?"

"I-"

"oh god not with this shit again! hawks will you give it a break for two fucking seconds?" dabi snaps, "I dont care if this is your way of coping is fucking interrogating us or something but just leave it alone!"

"oh im SO sorry for worrying about who's gonna be dead next!"

"i dont ca-"

shoto interrupted the two, "tomura said he was with twice last time and twice agreed. but now we know tomura was killing." shoto's voice cracked.

twice widened his eyes, but nodded. "i-im sorry."

everyone stared in shock, even hawks was silent.

he didnt look up, "the system is fucked, I'm telling you that, but I didnt want to hurt any of you i swear!"

hawks didnt say anything as he pushed him into the trash chute room, and neither did twice, he didnt even protest.

"can I ask you one more question?" hawks asked, twice slowly nodding.

"are there anymore?"

twice makes eye contact with dabi, another look hawks doesnt miss, and nods, holding up a finger.

with that hawks pulls the switch and out went twice, into space.

okay i had a nap heeeere's what i didn't like about the NY special, some of it is stuff covered by other people but whatevs ykno

so like I said before, I feel like the ways marinette and adrien were interacting physically, mostly at the start of the special, were weirdly sexual, not appropriate for their ages. if they're supposed to be a little older here, it doesn't look like it from their character models. watching them fall into each other in different ways would be fine in a romcom with adult actors but these guys are still young teenagers so I just found it really uncomfortable.

I actually really hated alya in this special. i hate that she wasn't given a subplot of her own, neither was nino, she just obsessed over adrien and marinette the whole time. she brings the teen ny heroes into it, because why should and nonwhite characters get to stand on their own instead of being obsessed with these two?

the villain, and the entire plot around them, I barely even remember it because the show introduced this guy in the laziest way - literally having alya say "hey, look, it's ny's tech-themed villain!' - and his character and story gets drowned out by the lovesquare drama.

basically, this special has a ton of stuff happen that I can't even keep up with because it isn't given room to breathe or be explored properly, because the lovesquare drama takes up the majority of the show. it's a little frustrating in the normal episodes, BUT I have had a bit of understanding since it is the main plot, even though I find most of the side plots a lot more interesting. here this special takes that idea and cranks it up to the max, it's like all of the main series comes with a bit of frustration while this special takes all three seasons of frustration and injects it directly into you, kicks you in the face and gives you lesbians at the very end so you should be grateful, dammit. I'm not done yet but yeah that's what's really annoying about the whole thing

chloe gets a kind of subplot where she doesn't want to go to new york, she's forced to go anyway, and she's just upset the whole time with no resolution? that's really annoying lol?? sabrina at one point ditches her to hang out with the others at a party, blushing at this random guy who shows up to take her to it, and it's like? good for her but this is out of character, there wasn't any buildup for her undying loyalty to chloe to be undone like this?? what was the point of bringing chloe to new york? if they wanted to have sabrina get development like this, it would have made a lot more sense if she was the one forced to go and was obsessively checking her phone to help chloe, and then this guy helps her set it aside so she can have fun at the party idk.

kagami and adrien kiss on the lips at the start of the episode, like that's just a thing they're doing now, which makes all of this lovesquare stuff cheating, doesn't it?? that leaves a bad taste in my mouth

new york has a "superhero for everything" which is a really interesting concept that they really don't use. the idea that this is a city overpopulated by heroes could have been really cool if they actually involved the fact that marinette is the guardian of the miraculous now and needs to decide who to make into superheroes, she could be looking at all these heroes and consider why they're fit for the job etc.? she could get bummed out over how she needs to retire a bunch of the heroes because their identities got revealed to hawkmoth in the finale?? but no it's just this weird thing that new york has been like sky high this entire time. i HATE that the fact that these heroes don't even need secret identities is just casually stated as well, because it invalidates all of the annoying drama we've had to sit through about how chloe is terrible and irresponsible for not having a secret identity as queen bee, and how adrien and marinette can't know each others secret identities.

chat noir literally kills someone and the narrative focuses on his man pain and has ladybug have to be the one to apologise to him. people have covered this in other posts but yeah, it fucking sucks

there's so much new lore thrown at this special that i dont even remember all of it and some of it contradicts prev. canon but yknow. it's not the priority lol it's marinette and adrien's romance!! i thought teen titans trouble in tokyo was bad for having it's romance overshadow things but at least the other characters had their own subplots and it didn't try to introduce a billion new lore elements to the story

and finallyy, at the end of the episode we get a superhero team with two moms. that's really nice and all, but i can't help feeling like it's a slap in the face. these characters dont properly get their stories explored, it's all so hamfisted. personally i really hate this kind of representation where it feels like it's just thrown in at the last second and it's really ambiguous. all the power to you if you feel empowered by it but i just feel like ive been thrown table scraps and told it's a meal considering how heteronormative this show is.

also-- the lovesquare stuff, that took up so much of the episode, barely even feels resolved by the end of it?? i dont know if i was so confused by this point i missed it but they're just back to where they started i think..?????

it genuinely exceeded by expectations on how bad it was going to be and i already knew i was in for adrien man pain and some racism because i read other posts about it. it was the most frustrating experience, i didnt know i could get this mad over a cartoon i already KNEW was going to be bad vkehvkbekcuejbckhem

The crew wakes up, finally on day two!

Virgil throws a rock at Logan for not waking him up like he promised he would. Logan promises not to trick him like that again. This does not last.

Virgil eats another Sorbillis fruit. The other three try to tell him not to, but he’s not having that.

Virgil and Roman spar, so Roman can learn to use his sword~! They continue to flirt throughout, but Roman does learn a few things. He still needs more training, though.

They take a break, and just then, Amaryllis calls!

She and Roman share a plethora of “I love you”s, and Amy warns Ro to look out for Vampires before cutting off the call.

Roman is confused, but so elated his True Form slips out! Logan and Patton get a good look at him, and then they pack everything up to start on the road again.

Virgil reveals that he didnt know it had been 2 years since he last saw Remus and Dee (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8)

While in the back of the wagon, Logan gives Virgil and Patton a lesson on how Magic works, and what Wild Magic Surges are!

After the lesson, Logan casts Find Familiar to summon his mother, Andromeda, in her corvid form!

Virgil, copying him, uses the same spell to re-summon Charlotte!

You all warn Logan, Patton, and Charlotte that Virgil is getting to shut down levels of cold, so they cuddle up to him to help keep him warm.

Virgil’s Cool Guy Persona™ is in danger, so he protests. Logan is not having that, so -- using his elven True Name -- he commands Virgil to sleep. See I told you

Virgil has two true names

You are all worried Virgil will be furious, but Charlotte is sure he won’t be.

Charlotte explains why Virgil has been refusing to sleep!

And, you see a vision about the day Virgil is dreaming about.

While Virgil is asleep, you note that his teeth are looking a little grey

Virgil is asleep for about an hour. He wakes up, and a whisper repeats the command for him to go back to sleep, so he does.

(In other news...)

While Virgil is asleep, you ask various questions!

You discover Logan may not be entirely honest when he says he doesn’t like to sing.

You get an update about how the boys feel about each other

You try several times to give Roman a solution for talking to his mother (sign language, pen and paper, morse code, etc) before you realize he’s really just saying no because he doesnt want to talk to Sune.

Which, of course, might have something to do with his backstory

Logan and Patton elaborate on those Pirates from the beginning of the game

You learn about some more weaknesses they have

You find out about Jisiri the White Dragon, who is currently being sent by Marissa to....attack the party

She was raised with Virgil by Marissa (after Virgil went under Marissa’s custody when he was 80, and Jisiri was already fairly old herself)

Jisiri would eat the people who asked Marissa for Virgil’s hand

Using a necklace Marissa put on her, that is an artifact, you saved the game!

Jisiri seems to respect Virgil.

Virgil confirms that most of the scars on his back are from her, but that he also left a few scars on Jisiri, so he doesn’t feel too back about it. Marissa used to make them fight, as training.

You ask Janus if you can see what really happened the night Remus got his scar.

With the new information, you find out it was Marissa disguised as Sune that scarred Remus, not Sune herself!

Janus puts the pieces together

Janus feels bad for Sune

Janus warns you that Sune is in grave danger, and can no longer be contacted via mirror

Janus tries to figure out Marissa’s plan?

Janus starts to figure out what Remy has to do with this

Janus thinks this might go deeper than anyone originally thought (1) (2)

Marissa explains why she did it, sortof?

Marissa explains what happened in ‘33

Janus decides he will hold off on telling Remus about any of this.

you sobbed into dabi's chest as hawks and ingeniumu covered thirteens body with a sheet, everyone looking over, some with tears, and some with just a blank look, like they were still processing it.

it was silent for a long time before ingeniumu cleared his throat and looked up, everyone seeing the ghost of tears in his eyes, "we have to call h-headquarters," his voice cracked but he stood tall, he would make a great captain one day, even with his pushover attitude.

you were crowded in the cafeteria, a computer resting on the table with headquarters on the line.

"im sorry to say this but you have an imposter."

you shook your head, you refused to believe it, how could these people, your FRIENDS, who you've lived with for a year, how could they be imposters?

though you shouldnt be surprised, the league has been gaining members, rarely any ship didnt have at least ONE imposter, some even having as much as three, you just thought you guys were the exception.

"twice, hawks, you searched thirteens body correct?" a voice came through the screen.

"yes sir," hawks quietly muttered.

"was everything in place?"

"he didnt have the vent key."

the vent key, really easy to pass through, was originally made for people to quickly go from room to rooms, but after the rise of imposters who started using it to sneak up on people, only one person was allowed to use it per day.

the voice cursed, "very well." a sigh could be heard, "well you know the drill," you did, you just didnt like it, "if you suspect someone, send them out and let them die," you gulped.

you didnt know if you could do that, even knowing that someone here murdered thirteen, you learned to care for each of them, even weirdo itchy snatch tomura. you didnt know if you could just send them into space to suffocate. even the thought made you sick.

"until then, we'll need you to finish your tasks fast, we'll have you home by the end of the day, which means the imposter will probably try to kill faster today. watch out." with that a beep was heard, signaling that you were disconnected.

a grim silence filled the room.

hawks finally spoke up, "which one of you assholes did it?"

dabi glared at the taller man, "fuck you dude, how do we know you didnt do it?"

hawks took a step closer, "bold accusations from someone who seems to hate everyone!"

"why would I kill one of the only people I actually like in this shithole?"

"because he had the vent key dumbass!"

"hey!" twice yelled.

hawks glowered at him, "oh yeah, how could we forget twice here? you found the body right? meaning you were the last one to see him? why DID you decide to check on him huh?"

"why would I come to you guys then?!"

"i dunno, to throw off suspicion maybe?"

you finally snapped "stop it!" everyone's heads shot towards you, "thirteen is dead," you choked out, "and I know thay we're all upset but we just have to finish today's tasks and then we're back home, okay?"

everyone stared, until deku started nodding, "y-yeah! just today's tasks left! then we'll go home and catch the imposter and we'll be fine!"

"what makes you so sure we'll catch him once we get home idiot?"

deku stared up confusingly at kaachan, "dont we have cameras?"

ingeniumu looked at his friend "obviously deku but whatre you getting at?"

"our cameras have memory sticks," shoto spoke up quietly, "when they're connected into one of headquarters machines, you can access all of what it caught,"

deku nodded rapidly, "exactly!"

your eyes lit up, "deku your a genius!" you grabbed his head and gave him a big smooch on the forehead, leaving him a red and stuttering mess.

dabi tsk'ed, "c'mere,' he grabbed you hand and pulled you towards him, wrapping you hands around you and resting his head on your shoulder.

you rolled your eyes playfully at his jealous nature.

"fine. we finish our task but if another person is found dead we're booting someone off." with that, hawks stormed off.

you tried not to go too harsh on him, you knew hawks looked up to thirteen, and beneath that cocky demeanor, he really was soft.

knowing that though, you couldnt help but feel some fear and resentment.

fear because you didnt think you could kill off one of your own and resentment because you knew hawks would make you do exactly that.

"we should have a plan," ingeniumu speaks up, "4 groups of two who continue on and do their tasks, and I think twice should be on security, just incase the imposter attacks again," everyone nods.

"i'll go with wonder," dabi states, already grabbing your hand,

"dont you think you'll get distracted with...other things?" tomura smirks, dabi clenching your hand in his.

"fuck. off."

"oo feisty~"

dabi glares, "yknow you dont really seem to care much that thirteens dead!"

tomura's eyes flash a dangerous color and he leans forward.

"the FUCK did you just say?"

"you heard me you fucking incel,"

"stop!" ingeniumu yells, "tomura is right, you guys do get quite distracted, wonder is with hawks, dabi your with shoto. ill go with tomura and that leaves deku and kaachan, with twice on security. let's go!"

dabi grumbles but goes with his brother as you lightly kiss him on the cheek and go with hawks.

you cant help but think about how amazing that kid is gonna be when hes older as a captain of his own ship.

you and hawks head off, both of you checking your list and stopping by rooms, the other waiting as they finish their task and repeating, until hawks sighed.

"how are you dating that asshole?"

you laugh, "hes not too bad once he likes you,"

"and what? he just doesn't like me?"

"exactly."

"what if he didnt like thirteen?" your smile drops instantly.

"hawks..."

"I'm just saying!"

"well STOP saying! I know dabi and he wouldnt betray me like that, so whatever accusations you have against MY boyfriend, I dont wanna here it," you scowl as you check your notebook, and started heading forward, "c'mon. I have to do wires in electrical."

hawks stayed quiet through the walk, as you stormed forward, wanting to get as much away from him as possible without ACTUALLY losing him. if you were being honest you were scared of going off alone.

as you walked in electrical you instantly went towards the wires, not noticing hawks standing in the doorway,

"wonder?"

"yes hawks?" you snap.

"I just saw someone vent." you pause and turn around.

"where and who?!"

"I dont know! I just saw the vent close when we walked in here and since Thirteen had the key before he died, that means that only the imposter can vent!"

"fuck! why would they vent though?!"

hawks paused. "maybe they killed someone again."

tears filled your eyes as you started searching the dark room, almost tripping over something, you only briefly looked up but you choked back a sob.

it was a foot.

"hawks!"

he came running towards you from behind the wall and saw the foot, gulping as he turned on the flashlight.

there say ingeniumu, with his throat slashed.

you couldnt hold back the cry that left your throat as hawks pulled you in for a hug, mostly to hide his own tears.

"what's going on in here?" you heard dabi's voice and you lifted you head to see him and shoto.

he looked mad but when hawks gestured with his flashlight towards the body, the brief flash letting both of the boys see, dabi understood.

"c'mere baby," he grabbed you quickly and held you tight as you sobbed into his chest, dabi looked up at his brother, "shoto can you call a meeting?" he asked softly. you assumed shoto nodded because there were no other words spoken.

there you all sat again, in cafeteria.

you were sniffling as dabi played with your hair, you holding shoto close as he leaned into you, still in shock of seeing his friend's lifeless corpse like that.

deku stood tall and didnt bother to hide the tears streaming down his face and even kaachan was caught sniffling a bit.

twice sat quietly in the corner, with his elbows on his knees.

hawks though, was red in the face from anger. and the victim of his anger was none other than tomura.

"you were teamed up with him fuckface!"

tomura simply shrugged, "I got bored and wanted to check on twice, see if he was alive,"

"well he is! but your partner fucking isnt!" hawks jammed his finger against the other mans chest, "and I think YOURE the cause!"

tomura raised his eyebrows, "I was with twice, right twice?" he did a 180 to stare hard at twice who looked up slightly and slowly nodded. that seemed to please tomura though as he turned back around, "see?"

"that doesnt mean shit! you were supposed to be with him!"

"but I wasnt."

"but you WERE! that's why the kid is dead!"

"I say we vote." shoto's voice was muffled by your neck and dabi's chest, where he was currently crammed in, but it was still intelligible.

you raise your head and wipe a few stray tears, "I think that's smart sho,"

you all nod and murmur in agreement.

"fine then. let's vote." hawks glares at tomura one last time, "who says skip?"

tomura, twice and shoto raise their hands.

"i dont think theres enough evidence." shoto explains and you nod, quietly telling him that theres nothing wrong with his belief.

hawks has a slight triumph look on his face, "who says that tomura is a fucking psychopath who likes to murder children!"

"murder a child. thirteen is practically twice my age" tomura corrects, "and besides I didn't do it."

hawks rolls his eyes, "whatever, everyone just vote."

you, dabi, hawks, deku and kaachan raise your hand, making you guys the winner.

"perfect." hawks drags tomura over to the ejecting room, usually used for heavier garbage that didnt fit in the disposal.

as you all surrounding the glass wall that separated you and tomura you cried a bit more.

sure you hated this dude but you still KNEW him!

"anything left to say sicko?" hawks glared at the smiling tomura.

"maybe you arent as much of a bird brain as I thought hawks. good job, you win," he does a slight bow like this was a performance before hawks pulls the lever, tomura's body flying out before hawks closed it again.

"he admitted to it." deku stated simply.

"yeah."
