2nd to last batch of AniRedux Hoenn redesigns!!!After Hoenn I'm gonna do some Kanto and Johto ones (more designs under the cut,first 4 are older drawings but will be updated,all designs are finalized so no major changes when redone)

Tbh Tate and Liza's ORAS designs are already pretty solid so all I did was add their sun/moon imagery to line up with their aces (also hairstyle changes with Tate being slightly more flared to closer represent the sun and Liza's being smoother to represent the moon)

I went full Volcarona with Flannery's design along with giving her a more tough girl look with the cut sleeves and having more red and orange colors in her design while also keeping her towel belt bc of the theme of her gym being a hot spring (her gym goes SO HARD in ORAS)

Roxanne's design leans in hard into the teacher aesthetic along with having a nice business vibe since Rustboro is Hoenn's financial hub

Wattson's design leaned more into his RSE side but also added a bit of yellow to his hair and some plusle minun themed goggles since this man definitely owns a bunch of novelty accessories and shirts (he is wearing a Togedemaru themed Alola shirt under his jacket)

Pre current day trio back when they were traveling together! (Steven at this point is 16 about to hit 17 while Winona and Wallace are 17)

Steven is freshly graduated from Rustboro High 2 years early with honors and is set to go to university but he had decided to take on the Hoenn League before he does since he was considered a prodigy in his advanced battling courses and was noted to have an affinity for steel types and psychic types

Winona had originally set off at 14 as a part of her Field Researcher course, she wasn't very interested in it at first but was hooked immediately when the teachers said that she would be studying in Fallarbor which not only has a healthy Swablu population nearby but also some Skarmory and Gligar sightings, she and Steven meet back up after 2 years of not seeing eachother and the first thing they do is go out to try to catch a Skarmory (it goes comedically wrong but ends with Winona getting a newly hatched Skarmory and Steven getting the world's snarkiest Skarmory despite it only being a few months old)

Wallace is an up and coming Coordinator who already has a bit of a following from the contest he had participated in in Slateport showing off his Milotic and Gyarados duo which shocked the audience since most trainers his age completely forego training Gyarados because of their temper but Wallace's is surprisingly elegant, he doesn't participate in the Gym Circuit until he hits his early 20s but does have the Rain Badge (he did attend Rustboro's middle school years ago which is where he first met Steven and Winona but quickly transfered to Uva-Naranja academy in Paldea since they was offering a really nice foreign exchange student program)

I may have done a little something special with Maxie's design, he still keeps the shoulder pads since every admin in Magma wears some form of armor but he is hiding a little something behind those glasses, he had been partially possessed by the Red Orb when he first came into contact with it years ago permanently scaring him along with changing his eyes (at first I went 3.0 + 1.0 Gendo-like but simply stuck with how Primal Groudon's would look), he just simply hides it along with the glasses having improved his eyesight along with it being where his keystone is affixed

Zinnia went full gremlin vagabond vibes, messy hair and a torn sleeve from where she had to patch up a nasty wound that her Salamence had suffered when they first left Meteor Falls no thanks to a very angry Walrein, she had been entrusted with the 2nd mega anklet that her village possessed officially crowning her as Lorekeeper along with the remains of Aster's cape (Aster had the 1st mega anklet but it was lost when they passed)

So much has happened. So much went down in Area Zero that I don't kniw where to start. Things still are taking a while to process. I'm focusing on the positives just so i dont drive myself crazy.

For one, Koraidon is doing much better. He got over his fear of battling and now can switch into his battle form whenever I ask. He seems to still prefer being a riding mount.

We saved Paldea. And probably the world. Area Zero is bursting with powerful primal Pokémon from years and years and millenia ago that arent meant to live today. They would have broken out and ruined Paldea's ecosystem if we hadn't done what we did.

That being said, I did catch one. It's called a Slither Wing and looks a lot like Volcarona. I intended to catch-and-release just for Pokédex data, but it scampered back to me when I told it to scram. Guess it's staying.

I've only grown closer with my friends. I finally gathered the courage to tell them a really big secret, and they promised not to tell. I feel safer around them now.

We're a little banged up, but we're alive. We're still pretty shaken, but Nemona's still laughing. We're all so exhausted, so we set up camp and are tucking into sleeping bags for the night as I type this. Lullay hasn't let go of me since we crawled out of the Crater.

I might be up for a little while longer. A lot on my mind. I don't know why my blog suddenly turned black? So whoever hacked it can you not <3 i cjanged my passwords so it should be fine. Doesnt look like they deleted ot posted anything so it looks safe.

I had a rather interesting thought- and this is by no means me saying I want this for Pokemon day.

Re that idea that's been circulating around for a gen 2 and 5 mashup- what if it isn't quite that?

If you look at the paradox pokemon from SV, a bunch are gen 2 and 5 Pokémon, or Pokémon that can be found there (Magneton in Johto for instance). In fact, in addition to the swords and beasts, there's Donphan and Volcarona, which are gen 2 and gen 5, and both have 2 forms.

If this hypothetical gen 2x5 game were to happen, maybe it wouldn't so outlandish if the legends AND starters were paradoxes themselves. Perhaps the starters being the first evolving paradoxes, or the first non evolving new starters.

And possibly as a Legends PALDEA game instead of Kyurem or Celebi.

Just hear this completely hypothetical idea out:

Legends Scarlet- box legendary is either a Paradox fusion of Reshiram and Ho-Oh akin to Iron Valiant but ungabunga, or possibly the "imagined" beast fusion we technically never got. Starters are more primal versions of the Johto Trio that either evolve or have a Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee effect of being single stage but just getting stronger.

Legends Violet- flipped. Zekrom and Lugia as a possible robot fusion, or the "imagined" robot swords of justice fusion. Starters are robo versions of the Unova Trio, see above.

I highly doubt it'll happen, but I won't take it off the table entirely for the following reasons:

1. SV's story and lore have too many holes that still need filling for a satisfying conclusion (and I am aware most likely GF think what they have is satisfactory, they're wrong but I digress)

2. There's entire history lessons for Paldea that builds up a shit ton of lore that the game doesn't really do much with.

3. We all know Game Freak needs way more time, and what better time saver than to just re use assets from SV, edit a bit, remove cities in favor of villages and castles or something, and then building from there?

I don't think it'd be a new DLC, as SV the base game just seems... unfixable. Not to mention they're greedy, so a full game would probably make more sense in that regard.

I still think instead we'll get ILCA Unova (gross but most likely), then Legends Unova next, then a Johto revisit on the next console to sell it. However comma I think it'd be a neat thought exercise and a wild left field prediction for something totally weird with a zero chance of happening to occur.

Me: "Unless they confirm the theory that the Paradox Pokemon are products of imagination given life by Terapagos, the existence of Walking Wake is wrong wrong wrong!”

Listen. Not to be a lore snob here.  But Johto and Sinnoh are my jam, and the idea of Prehistoric Suicune does, admittedly, raise a lot of questions I know won’t be answered until the DLC is launched.  Because this should be impossible. Suicune is a contemporary being.  The storm that burned down the Brass Tower took place 150 years ago, and Suicune was born from Ho-oh reviving the Pokemon that got trapped and perished in the flames.  They weren’t originally the beasts as we see them, so there can’t be a prehistoric form based on the contemporary Suicune.

While you could argue that prehistoric Suicune here was what evolved into the Pokemon that died, that does feel like a bit of a ridiculous approach, given the other Paradox Pokemon are all clearly associated with something contemporary. Scream Tail doesn't look like Wigglytuff, it looks like Jigglypuff.  Same with Flutter Mane.  Things like Slither Wing and Roaring Moon carry exact traits of Volcarona and Salamence, etc etc.  This is clearly meant to be Primal Suicune, but that's not actually possible to achieve given that Suicune didn't exist until approximately 150 years ago.  Which means one of two things.

One: the theory I saw about how Terapagos’s power referenced in the Scarlet/Violet books is creating things from imagination rather than pulling from time is right, and these aren't actually from the ancient past, they're just entities from the professor's vision of them.  This would make complete sense and be rad as hell, especially with the idea that these Paradox Pokemon weren't listed in the book, so they're someone else's imaginings.  I would love that kind of thing.

Or they forgot the lore.   And while I know it's popular to dunk on Pokemon for all the stuff it's doing a bad job with lately.  They've been pretty consistent with the lore.  So I think it's fair to say they didn't likely forget.

I'm not actually bothered by any of this, for the record.  Not yet.  It's more a nagging sensation that won't subside until we get the DLC and they start answering some questions.  Walking Wake looks super cool and I love it, I hope we get Entei and Raikou ones too.

(A headcanon? Hmm... Well, of course, he has a warm touch, and though he might seem like he can third degree burn you, but he can control his temperature of his body like a Flareon, so his s/o or s/o's [yes, cause I kinda ship the trio] have a go to for when it's really cold and he ultimately loves having an excuse to hug them.

Another headcanon is if he had a team of Pokémon, I think he'd have a Entei, Volcarona, Volcanion, Skeledirge, Primal Groudon, and a Bellossom or Flareon.

Bro I, for real, might be becoming a headcanon maker for this cookie...

Also, small headcanon of him with an oc of mine, but when he and Penguin Cookie hang out, she's basically able to create ice cubes, so anytime Capsaicin needs to chill out, she makes some ice with her ice magic so he can chill out a bit, and any moment Penguin Cookie gets too cold, he provides warmth for her to sit by.

Okay, that's a lot of random headcanons but meh. :P

Pokesona/OC Post

Just going making a write up of info/lore about my own ocs since I keep trying to keep track of this in a discord server with Primal and I need to like ORGANIZE THIS. Two characters will be discussed here, Lee Marie, the real Pokesona, and then we’ve got Yolanda who is just an OC who I put into every story because it’s funny.

Lee Marie:

Originally I made her as a Rymesona/Detective Pikachu verse, but I’ve adjusted her story to be more around the games and just because I am in LOVE with N from BW.

Current lore is that she was born in Unova, but her family moved to Sinnoh when she was young. She began a Pokemon journey at age 10 like most kids, with Chimchar as her starter. She failed early on at the Elite Four and lost heart, abandoning her journey and returning home and starting a “normal” life. She hid her depression overtime by throwing herself into studying to become a fashion designer, and became a young celebrity before she was twenty. She always longed to go back to adventuring though, and one day her old team reminded her of this and she decided to go back to Unova to restart her life. She’s a celebrity though so she dyes her hair/dons a disguise while on her adventure, and from there she basically takes the place of the protagonist in BW1, getting involved in the Team Plasma plot. N connects to her because he sees that she “truly understands/can communicate with your Pokemon” (since they called her out of her depression). She obtains Zekrom, and after N’s farewell,

After obtaining Zekrom and N’s farewell, she leaves Unova to travel to another region to continue her journey, which makes her absent for the events of BW2. N’s trouble of trying to locate the player from BW1 is continued with Lee Marie since she was “disguised” in Unova and so tabloids were always like “Sinnoh Designer who went missing spotted in Unova?” and N is just like “WHO IS THIS PERSON”.

Her original Sinnoh team was: Chimchar, Croagunk, Dustox, and Roselia

When she starts over in Unova, she brings her Chimchar/Monferno, Dustox, and catches Audino and Mareep/Flaafy. By the end of her Unova journey, she has Infernape, Audino, Ampharos, Volcarona, Solrock & Lunatone, and then Zekrom she can call upon when needed.

After becoming a designer:

Return to Unova (Meant to resemble Hilda, since i always kinned Hilda when I was like 8 and the game came out LOL)

After Unova she goes to Kalos, where she meets my friend Primal’s sona, who is collecting the Zygrade cells. They become rivals and mainly all that’s been discussed is that Lee would KICK HER ASS because Primal’s sona is a steel type trainer while I have fire types.

Lee starts Kalos with Volcarona, Infernape, Audino and Ampharos, and ends it with Gallade, Vivillon, and Milotic. (Her Pokemon are all rather fashionable ones or beautiful to match her image). Lee and her rival travel together to the next few regions, in Alola she catches Muk and Tsareena, and then in Galar she catches Snom/Frosmoth, Centiskorch, and Gyarados. (Her teams starts to move towards bug types since she discovers that’s her favorite type).

Eventually we reach Paldea, where she enrolls in Uva Academy so she can participate in the Treasure Hunt, and that’s how we get back to game accurate story lore. She brings Vivillon, Centiskorch, Frosmoth, Ampharos, and Tsareena to Paldea, and catches Ceruledge, Azumaril, Girafaiai, and a Mabosstiff.

Yolanda:

As mentioned in previous posts, Yolanda is just an OC who is basically my evil sona who I can’t help but insert into stories because it’s funny to me. In the Pokemon universe, she’s Lee’s cousin from Paldea who is enrolled in Uva as well. She’s jealous of Lee’s fame and the fact that she threw it away, and not so subtly copies Lee in appearance and a few of her Pokemon, although she has trouble evolving them.

Like Lee, Yolanda focuses on Pokemon’s appearance, although much more CONSCIOUSLY she picks her teammates based on how they look aesthetically.

She caught a Steenee because she wanted a Tsareena like Lee, but has failed to get it to evolve, and the two are constantly arguing (because I think the image of cute little Steenee turned into a bitch yelling at her trainer is funny). She has more ghost/fairy types, so she also has a Gothorita/Gothielle, Tinkaton, Misdreavous, Kirlia, and Frillish/Jellicent.

Yolanda exists in this universe mainly because she is is pursuing a lot of the adult male characters LOL. One idea I’ve thought of is after Lee beats Larry, Yolanda appears at the Treasure Eatery the next day and startles him by her similar appearance, but explains who she is and they have a one night stand, but Yolanda keeps pursuing him and eventually catches feelings. (Don’t worry she gets happiness eventually despite being the worst)

critical role/pokemon au part two- the vestiges

this was hard to come up with cuz I really wanted to avoid using legendary pokemon for it  but I ended up copping out a little on two of them because their wasn't many other options that I could think of

vax gets two vestiges he has the death walkers ward and whisper so i think that guarding the death walkers ward was more than likely a honchkrow(alternatively there was nothing guarding the ward but after vax chooses to wear it permanently a honchkrow follows him everywhere)  and whisper was a kadabra but upon receiving the dagger from kynan the kadabra evolves into alakazam

vex gets fenthras right so what if like the guy in the celebi movie saundor not only has fenthras but also a corrupted decidueye and so when they kill saundor and both the bow and the grass type starter are released from saundors grasp  vex gets them and the decidueye is shiny so the black wings kinda representing his former corruption

pike and the dawnmayrters plate  when pike acquired it she also acquired a volcarona from juuraiel in the city of brass the pokemon said to be able to reignite the sun

grog the titan stone knuckles are a vestige that doesn't really come with a pokemon at least that I can think of perhaps they are said to be imbued with the power of primal groudon  I'm trying to avoid using legendaries for the vestiges because while yes the magical items are powerful legendaries are very much like gifts from the gods type deals

the same thing applies to the spire of conflux that keyleth gets like it could be powered by like shaymin because that seems like a very druidic pokemon or if the power that runs through the staff is akin to the elemental birds because that would also be very druid-y but id rather not use legendaries

so scanlan and mythcarver , mythcarver was given to vox machina and by extension scanlan and along with the blade they received its guardian a honedge and much like the blade itself scanlan never uses it

percy gets cabals ruin  the wearer can choose to deal out additional lightning damage so its natural that the cloak would come with a electric type guardian the luxray happily joining their adventuring glad to be doing good in the world if by possibly twisted means was far better than being subjected to the will of anna ripley
