Okay, now that I’m more composed I wanna give my actual thoughts on Oathbringer. This is my favourite stormlight book so far, and I’m 700 pages into RoW so please no spoilers for that. Spoilers for Oathbringer down below obviously

Oathbringer focuses a lot more on Dalinar, but I'll get back to him. Bridge 4 gets their own pov chapters. Teft struggling with his addiction, Rock with his family, Skar not being able to take in stormlight, Rlain being alone amongst people who mean well but can never truly understand what he’s going through. I love this crew so much! The side characters shine in this book. Elhokar! I ended up liking him so much in it just for him to be brutally murdered right in front of his son. Moash even kicked the child. I was sobbing, I was so upset. He had so much potential. He was becoming a better king, a knight's Radiant. All for it to be just gone. And kaladin took that failure so personally. My baby. You can't always save everyone, but this is something Kal always struggle with. Moash even had the audacity to salute Kaladin, after murdering Elhokar!

Shallan just gets better and better in every book. I love how much she's improved in lightweaving. She was making her own little movie in Urithiru. I freaking love Veil. She's going around stabbing herself and getting arrows stuck in her head saying it's just a flesh wound. And everyone is rightfully baffled at her. I love her. I really loved her scenes with Wit/Hoid. It seems to me wit has a soft spot for Shallan. I love that Shallan and Adolin are married now! I love love love Adolin. Kaladin is right. You can't not like Adolin. He's got such sunshine golden retriever energy. Also, I love that Kaladin gave Shallan boots as a wedding present. LMAO.

Jasnah is the real mvp! Her just breezing through the final battle soulcasting her enemies was so fucking cool! She’s obviously the one who has the most control over their powers. When she decides not to kill Renarin oh man I cried! In fact I cried through the entire last 150 pages!

When szeth swoops down to save Lift and uses Nightblood to kill that thunderclast? When Lift tries to save szeth from Nightblood?! So many epic fucking scenes!

Dalinar really gets his avenger endgame moment with all the radiants! So so so cool!

And now speaking of Dalinar. So, Dalinar. How do I talk about him. He's probably the best written character I've ever read. He's your classic reformed character. His flashbacks when he was in his prime, being the blackthorn was difficult to read. But it shows you why the other country leaders are scared of him. And it's a legitimate worry. Now that the whole world is at the brink of an apocalypse, and he can save people no one trusts him because of his reputation because he used to be a war monger and a tyrant. and he knows that he can just do it again. He can be the balckthorn again and unite the world forcefully so they'll listen to him. It'll be so easy for him. But he doesn't want to do that. He's not that war monger anymore. And no one believes him. It's such good story telling. But after I read what he did to the rift, and to Evi, I didn't know how to root for him anymore. How do you root for a character who has burned a whole city down killing thousands of innocent people, including his wife. how do you root for someone who killed his own wife?? That's why it was so cathartic when we got to that moment between Dalinar and Odium. Odium telling Dalinar to just give in. Give him all his pain, and that he's the one who influenced him into doing bad things. telling him not to take responsibility. I thought Dalinar was gonna give in. He was gonna become Odium's champion and Kaladin would have to fight him. but for once Kal doesn't save the day. Dalinar doesn't give in. This is the best scene in this book, which is hard to choose cause this book is filled with epic scenes. "The most important step a man can take is not the first one. it's the next one. always the next step. You cannot have my pain. If I pretend I didn't do these things it means I can't have grown to become someone else. I'll take responsibility for what I have done. If I must fall I will rise each time a better man." It's about him taking accountability, acknowledging the wrongs of his past. it's about trying to be a better man. It's about forgiveness and doing better. People complain about the lengths of these books but we needed these pages to get that character development to get to this moment where Dalinar defies Odium. I love this book. this 1200 page behemoth and even than I wanted more. I’ve gone back to this sequence multiple times in the last few days. Even as I read RoW now I go back to reading that sequence. And I cry every single time.

In conclusion, Oathbringer was amazing. I can’t wait to finish RoW. Then I’ll only have the secret projects and TLM left until I’m fully caught up with Cosmere! I can’t wait!

THOUGHTS ON: THE COSMERE SERIES

So I said last year about how I was going to be reading the Cosmere books for the first time, one book/series at a time, and I've finally done just that!

So I started with Elantris and it was... eh. Yeah, I can see why this one isn't really talked about much. I didn't even hate it, tbh, but I still found it to be pretty boring overall. I know it was Branderson's first book, though, so I'm willing to cut him some slack here. Hopefully I'll enjoy the sequel more, whenever it comes out.

Next was the original Mistborn trilogy, which I've actually been wanting to read for awhile now! I can certainly see why it's Branderson's most popular work and I myself really liked it, too! Kelsier is probably my favorite character since I love how many layers there are to him. Elend is a close second, and considering what happens to the latter... Yeah...

Speaking of villains, I still can't tell if we're meant to pity Rashek or not due to things like this:

It's calling him "a good man" is what has me thrown off. I know his actions were at least in part due to Ruin's influence, but still! As for Ruin himself, again, I love Chessmaster characters! I do however think I would've preferred it if the Hero of Ages did turn into a tyrant, just because I've always loved this sort of trope, but I'm not too bothered about the twist, either.

So since I finished Era 1, I decided to read Era 2 while I was still on Scadrial, and as someone who's not too fond of Westerns in general, I thought the Wax and Wayne series was okay. I was feeling so bad for Wax throughout it, though! And I'm also really looking forward to the inevitable big crossover that's been teased at this entire time after getting a taste of it in a main book.

And now we come to my favorite of the Cosmere books, Warbreaker! And it's just fun! Really, really fun! Of the PoV storylines, I think I liked Vivenna's arc the most and how determined she was to rescue her sister, but Siri's was still a close second. Favorite character in general, though, Bluefingers. I repeat, I love a good Chessmaster! But more than that, I really liked how sympathetic he was, just trying to free his people, but he and his supporters ended up taking things way too far! Which brings to what is really my only big complaint with the book, and that's how abruptly it seemed to end, especially where the conflict with the Pahn Kahl is concerned, so for better or worse, I really hope their fate gets explored in Nightblood. Which reminds me, I loved the chaotic sword, too!

White Sand was next and it was another story I found to just be alright, both the graphic novel as well as the prose version.

Now comes The Stormlight Archive, another I've been wanting to read for awhile now, though I know it won't be completed for a few years now. I actually read the audiobook to the Prime version of TWoK first, so it was fun to compare it with the official release and I really hope we get more Sanderson Curiosities in the future! All that said, I'm really enjoying the story so far and how grand everything feels, but oof, did these scenes make me cringe:

On one hand, I totally get scolding Kaladin for just automatically assuming the worst of everyone who's a lighteyes and being fed up with his cynicism. At the same time, though, I also really hate how dismissive Shallan comes across in this chapter. At first, I thought that was the intention, but then we get this:

This isn't even the first time I've felt like anger towards oppression was being dismissed in one way or another, btw (again, Warbreaker, my beloved), these are just the moments that stood out to me the most. It'd be one thing if it were just condemning extremists, but when you have scenes like Shallan's talk with Kaladin and... Yeah... Again, I totally get the intention, I just wish the scenes had played out better, because I actually do like Shallan otherwise.

Anyway, I ended up reading Arcanum Unbounded afterwards, as well as Dawnshard, and I liked them just fine. Secret History is probably my favorite of the short stories, and I really hope Nalthis gets a short story eventually. I also received Aether of Night literally yesterday (thank you, 17th Shard!) and it was interesting seeing the similarities between this and other Branderson works, such as Ruin and Decay.

If I had to rank them from favorite to least favorite, it would probably be Warbreaker, The Final Empire, Wax and Wayne, The Stormlight Archive, White Sand, and finally, Elantris.

So yeah, great stories by someone who seems like an overall great guy, I just question some of the writing choices.

It was my second day entering M-cap, the first day I arrived I struggled and fought. They had decided to give me a day to settle in and catch up with myself.

I got to Bardo through the anomaly, being pushed in by the Children of Gabriel. Luckily the prisoner on Skyring only had a year left. Had I gone peacefully I probably wouldn't have been in this mess. I wasn't even sure why they wanted my memories, I had no clue what 'key' they were talking about.

I was born a nightblood on Sanctum, never really believing in their so-called 'Ascension' and immortal gods, so I ran past the barriers before my naming day. That's when the COG found me, they had chased me all the way to the anomaly, dragging me and shoving me in, they didn't believe me when I said I wasn't a prime. So much for 'saving' humanity.

Levitt, the M-cap guy, says I'm lucky I wasn't split in half when entering Skyring.

Death would've been better than having every memory I've made sifted through.

Not that I cared what he saw, I had nothing to hide.

Once I got comfortable in the white chair Levitt buckled my hands and feet down. It all seemed a bit much really.

"Don't trust me?" I say, my eyes following his figure as he steps into the big empty space, waving his fingers around rapidly.

"Safety measure, you did kill five of our men after all." I didn't need to see him to tell the face he was making. I rolled my eyes, not that he could see anyway.

"I saw that,"

Nevermind.

After a few more minutes of his hands waving in the air, he walked back up to me, 'clicking' on me and raising the lever, "It'll only hurt if you fight it," Levitt's eyes were still averting my gaze.

"Alright, easy question. Imagine you're in a sandy desert with a vast purple sky, and a hand suddenly reaches out to you, who is it?"

I really had to think long and hard on this one, and he said it was easy. After a few minutes of nobody showing up in his lenses, he sighed, suddenly feeling pity for me. Everyone had an answer to that question.

Nobody had ever wanted to get to know me for me, it was always about my blood and naming day.

"That's fine, slideshow it is." He assured, walking back to the large space at the end of my chair.

"Turning my memories into a movie, who would've thought," I let out a tired snicker, the beams from the machine wearing me down.

"Just searching for the key, I won't invade too much," His hands began a left-swiping motion, sifting through important and non important memories.

I watched him closely as his motions came to a halt, and he seemed to freeze. Had he found what he wanted?

In fact, he found more.

Unbeknownst to me, Levitt was watching me naked in his glasses, The system can usually filter stuff like this out, there must've been a malfunction, but he couldn't stop watching.

I was in front of a mirror, legs spread and fully naked. Staring down at myself I glided my hands all over my body, taking hold of my tits and then slowly skimming down to my thighs, caressing them gently.

Anders stared at him, his eyes squinting while evaluating his entire being.

"Since you did great last prisoner, I'll get someone to swap with you."

Levitt felt his heart drop, he didn't want anyone else to see me vulnerable, to invade my being like he had.

Lucky for Levitt, I began thrashing around at Ander's sentence, using the last of my energy to poke my head with the sharp probes. Disciples immediately rushed to sedate me.

Levitt let go of a breath he didn't even know he was holding.

Anders looked back towards Levitt and nodded, a signal he was relieved of his duties.

"You'll do her M-cap tomorrow, then," Arden said.

Levitt took one last glance towards me, watching as the disciples picked up my body carefully before nodding and taking his leave.

It was the next day, Levitt having spent the whole night replaying the scene over and over in his head. So when he finally saw me again, all he could do was imagine what was under my clothes.

"So, how do those glasses work?" I chirped up, my voice more rested than yesterday.

Levitt strapped my limbs down, examining my attire. Though it was only sweatpants and a clean white shirt, he thought I never looked sexier.

"They go through the memory part of your brain, whatever memory you think of I can see, and if needed, I can forcefully bring them up," He explained as simply as he could.

Though you still had questions a bright idea came to your head. if I couldn't torture him physically, I'd torture him mentally.

Levitt asked his base question to get you started, "Just like last time, you're in a desert with a vast purple sky," He adjusted the bar, "There's a hand reaching out, who is it?"

"Jace..." Levitt repeated his name, waving his hands around more, "And who is Jace to you?" Part of him asked because of standard protocol, and another asked to find out who the fuck this guy was to me.

Levitt felt a pang of anger towards this, he took off the glasses and set them on the small table.

"You're the one tied to the chair, you should be careful what you say to me," He threatened, now inches away from my tied-down body.

Rewatching, and I kinda feel bad for Jasper. I’m on “We Are Grounders” Part 2, and Jasper’s proven himself many times by now - within the episode even. Them constantly having no confidence in him - even when he delivers - wasn’t helping to make him better. On another note, it is impossible to miss the graveyard of plot lines literally everywhere. What was JR doing? You can literally so many avenues he meant to go, and then decided not to pursue at the last second. It just ended, but this is definitely a show that needs a reboot. He just kept fumbling the story. Even The Primes in Season 6 - that was good. He should’ve did something with them instead of going to Bardo. And then season 7 rips literally everything in prior seasons to shreds. If every Grounder had nightblood, then how did it become rare? Fighting for commander wouldn’t have done shit cuz everyone who was on the ground needed NB - they would’ve had to kill everyone. Also, it’s a gene therapy not like an epigentic trait that was switched on. There’s no way they would’ve selected against it at that scale in only 100 years. Opposite of that, there’s no way The Ark ppl would’ve been able to adapt to solar radiation like that in only 100 years. I also think the degradation of knowledge for the Grounders didn’t make a lot of sense. Those people were just like the people on the Ark - there had to have been physicists and doctors and whatnot amongst the rich and famous in that Bunker(we saw there was). All of that just disappeared? Mt Weather just discovered a 21st century bone marrow transplant when Skaikru arrived? They couldn’t have done that to the Grounders 100 years before? Let’s not forget the characters. Octavia and Clarke were the only ones who he really developed. The rest were just going in circles. Bringing kids in the way they did was not smart. Especially since Madi was just there after season 5. No real purpose at all. Expanding the world was good, but the way he did it wasn’t. ALLIE was a mistake I fear. We should’ve stuck to the Lord of The Flies sorta thing, and The Mountain Men should’ve been more than one season. It would’ve been cool if there was like a conglomerate of Mountain Men - multiple bunkers like that working together. Everyone in the main group at least should’ve became a warrior. Clarke becoming someone’s second as a peace offering could’ve been cool - Lexa would’ve been the only one she could be second too without making Skaikru look weak though. Her, Luna, or the Flamekeepers. Bellamy and Clarke’s friend dynamic was great, but watching S1 back - they should’ve been together. Lincoln really didn’t have to die. Finn was definitely not the one in the group who would’ve ended up doing what he did. Monty and Jasper should’ve been a couple. That could’ve been how Jasper got out of his depression over the girl he only knew for two weeks. Wells really didn’t have to die. We saw Bellamy fucking everyone - I feel like we should’ve seen him with some boys too. The future they built seemed like no one cared about sexuality - which to me means damn near everyone should be fluid. Heteronormativity as a societal expectation plays a much larger role than people think. I think it’s telling that the Female leads were bi, yet only two side characters were gay(3 if we count Miller’s first bf). Grounder religion and spirituality should’ve been explored way more too. I’ve got many more comments and ideas, but know that I will be a major player on the eventual Reboot. This was a really new take on an apocalypse and while it was good it could’ve been done better.

"I can't say,but I think it would be best if you told Bellamy." She said.

"Yeah your right." Nova said.

"YOUR PREGNANT WITH THE CHILD OF AN OUTSIDER!" her mother yelled furious,the other remaining Primes gathered around the table.

Ryker clenched his jaw glaring at her stomach.

"Yes mother,I am pregnant with Bellamy's child,and yes I will raise and love it." Nova stated.

"Absolut-" Simone was cut of by her husband's cough.

"You may keep the child,but we didn't call you here to discuss that,the child will be a bastered,not from wedlock or your husband." Russel told her.

"Husband?" Nova questioned.

"My dear you and Ryker will be married,united as you once were." Priya told her,eyes soft.

"No! not an a million years." Nova yelled.

"You will marry me,end of disscussion,your lucky you get to keep that child." Ryker said slamming his fist on the table.

"You will marry him,or else the man who tarnished you,and the rest of them will be executed." simone said sternly.

"Touch any of them,especially Bellamy,Echo,or the child,I'll burn you alive,and I know for a fact that Josephine has risen once again." Nova said as she slammed the door open,walking out of the throne room.

"Did you know?" Bellamy said as she walked into their room.

"Know what?" She asked.

"That your Parents are body snatchers,and im assuming nightbloods are the main host." Bellamy said not looking at her.

"So tell me,who did I fall in love with,thats not even your original body is it." Bellamy said glancing at her.

"Yes I knew,but im against it,this is my original body,The red sun effected me differently,Immortal in a different way." Nova said kneeling.

"Clarke's been actimg strange,and you keep saying that she reminds you of your sister,we saw a video."

"Your father,and a man named Gabriel revived her after Twenty-five years later." He said.

"Brooke was a dear friend,I was her mothers midwife,everytime a child was born a nightblood,as you call them,a part of me died a little each time." she said to him,grabbing his hand.

"When the first red sun arrived ,My father killed my mother and sister,the scar was from that,for twenty-five years I hid watching from above,with serafina,The dragon that raised me and soon birthed astrid." Nova said tears filling her eyes.

"In the video,Josephine asked for you,said she knew you would survive somehow." Bellamy said pulling the girl into his lap,wiping her tears.

"One body cannot hold two minds,which is why the host die quickly ,some have to be put on ice until others are born,they are killers,Gabriel left becouse he grew tired of that." She said sniffiling.

"Clarke would've been against this normally but she wasn't." Bellamy said,he looked like he was fighting with his mind.

"Clarke may be Josephine,it may be too late,if she took over,but the story with her taking the chip has me thinking,maybe a mesh was created." Nova said softly.

"So you think your sister is in Clarke's body,but she may have a chance?" He asked not knowing what to believe.

"Yes,are you mad?" She asked.

"I don't know." He said,his lips tracing the scar on her neck.

"Im Pregnant,and my family said I had to marry Ryker,if I didn't they would kill all of you,but I told them I would burn them alive." Nova said as Bellamy tensed.

"Your pregnant?" He said eyes soft and voice proud.

"Yes,and the child is growing fast,at an unusual pace,it may come early,It looks like its been five months already,yet its barely been days and Im not even showing." She said with a smile.

"We'll talk about that stuff later,but right now,Im gonna be a dad soon." Bellamy said pulling her into a kiss.

"Your gonna be a fucking dad Bellamy Blake." She said as she pushed him on the bed.

"It's a risk meeting like this,Especially since Nova suspects,if not knows,you are not Clarke." Simone said to her eldest.

"Of course she figured it out." She murmered.

"What's wrong,also your sister has been impregnated." Simone said with a scoff.

"Looks like im gonna be a aunt,but they got into the lab,they know everything,im sure Nova will tell her lover everything." Josephine said to her parents.

"Do they know about you?" Russel asked.

"Not yet,But that doesn't matter now,because my host wasn't the only Nightblood." She said.

"Nightblood?" Simone asked.

"Thats what they call it,its pretty cool huh?,anyway,they have more." Josephine said.

"How many more?" Russel asked.

"I don't know at least one,but there are bound to be others,but hey if that doesn't work out,Nova is with child,she may produce a future host."  Josephine said.

"Your sister and her child are off limits Josie,if the child is born with the blood,they are automatically a Prime,not a host." Russel said sternly.

"Fine,but if not down here then up on their ship,so what do you say we skip the hand wringing and do what we all know needs to be done,before they can leave ,because that is what they're about to do." Josephine said.

"And Nova will go right along with them." She finished.

At the bar Nova sat between Jose-Clarke 

and Bellamy,as they discussed what to do.

"Clarke you realize staying says we're okay with what they're doing." Madi said,the child was wise,then again she was in cryo for 125 years.

I may have missed it but can someone tell me how the primes became nughtbloods?

They never explained it (I don’t think) just that they’ve had it.

In previous episodes, it showed Becca making the nightblood in space. They made it seem like it was an experimental thing.

Then in the prequel episode, it showed how the grounders were able to get nightblood.

That would make it seem like the Eligius 3 crew went AFTER the bombs fell. But based on what they showed us, they went BEFORE, same time as diyozas crew.

I don’t get it. Help?

Chapter 26 of Whims/Winds of Fate/ Destiny is posted!!!

Most couples have a quaint tale of how their relationship began. A meet-cute, of sorts, where two people destined to be together, whether as friends or lovers, share a random moment that changes everything. Usually, it is bumping into a stranger and spilling a drink all over their new shirt. Or two people who pass each other only moments apart at the same coffee shop for years before fate finally intervenes.

Clarke's first meeting with Lexa was nothing like the movies. Nor was it a tale to share with friends and family without extensive revisions. Still, it was clear that destiny had brought them together.

A serial killer is on the loose, and the bodies left behind suggest a vampire is the culprit. Hoping to avoid a war with Heda's vampires, Abby sends Clarke to investigate, resulting in a fateful meeting. Following their steamy introduction, Clarke can't get the Vampire Queen out of her mind. I'm just trying to work things out so going to put a timeline here:

Scientific families on Earth elect to go on an interstellar mission to start a colony. They are given Beca's serum to protect them from potential radiation and memory drives to store their experience and Earth's history for the new colony.

They land on Sanctum with the plan being to build a colony and to have the females carry genetically variable black-blooded offspring so that the population is diverse(?)

Three weeks in the eclipse happens and Russel kills most of the colony (I guess?)

Russel and Gabriel spend 25 years converting the memory drives into mind drives to ressurect their loved ones in black blooded people.

Where did they get the other black-bloods? Were there women left alive who implanted and carried the embryos and let their kid get killed? Did Russel have sex with one of the remaining women and then implant Josephine into his actual other daughter, murdering her? Where did Josephine II's body come from since she's younger than 25?!!?

Josephine is successfully resurrected and so Russel and Gabriel begin murdering people to ressurect the rest of the Prime's. Gabriel is given a new body so he can be young like Josephine. Not only did his original body not need to be thrown away yet, this is seriously creepy for a now 50+ year old to still be hot for a ~21 year old. They begin the god-story to keep the peace. Everyone is black blooded because they're from the embryos??

After his first couple of bodies Gabriel begins seeding dissent against the Primes and gains his followers. He destroys the remaining embryos so that it's hard to find black-blood hosts because black-blood is a very recessive trait. He is almost executed for his crimes but Ryker helps him escape.

In he ensuing years the Prime's use up most of the available black-blood hosts and begin killing red blooded infants to convince people to keep breeding perfect hosts for them. Gabriel and his Children keep trying to save people from Sanctum and capture Prime's so that they can destroy the chips and the godhood once and for all.

The Lee's decide that the Lightwood's are dangerous and must be stopped because they think the red-blooded people are still people. Kaylee kills Josephine and when our heroes land the Lee's try to leave the Moon to find safety somewhere else.

After adventure squad find Sanctum and the children ask 'Are you here to take us home?' I guess we're supposed to assume that the kids were like 'we were just hiding in a safe bunker from the eclipse, are you taking us back to our regular homes'?

But really, where did they get new babies from after Russel killed most people in the first eclipse??!? I guess we have to assume that not all Prime's were killed. Josephine, Simone and the Lee's were. But maybe Priya carried the embryos knowing that they were for experimentation??!?

Like Josephine II's body, the first successful resurrection was someone's *child* that they spent 21 years watching grow up into their own person and then get murdered for Russel and Gabriel's benefit and the only way I can understand sacrificing your non-genetic kid like this is if it was a promise that they would bring Ryker back next.

But also, would parents do that? You lost your child 25 years ago. Would you groom all of your other non-genetic kids to be murdered for 21 years over and over just to bring your first genetic kid back??!?

Also, because it would take years to grow a population big enough to have enough women to carry the embryos, would Josephine II have ever had to carry an embryo, raise the baby for 21 years and then watch her child get murdered and turned into one of her friends??!?!

So I’ve recently had a little discussion with @jeanie205 about some things about the Sanctum society in season 6 of The 100 that we find confusing.  Maybe someone with more scientific knowledge could help with some ideas, or explain if this even makes sense or not.

Where did the non-Prime people of Sanctum come from? I’ve always assumed that they are descendants of people who were initially grown from embryos that Gabriel brought from the Earth. 

However, in one of the recent episodes, Gabriel said that he destroyed the embryos 70 years ago - and that they had about a thousand embryos, genetically engineered to be Nightbloods. 

Does that mean all the embryos were genetically engineered to be Nightbloods? But then where did all those nulls and the gene carriers who are not Nightbloods come from? It was confirmed in 6x05 that Nightblood genes are recessive. So, the genetically engineered embryos would have to have a pair of Nightblood genes, right? I suppose everyone was meant to be a Nightblood because Becca and the Eligius Corporation thought it would be necessary due to radiation. So, why isn’t everyone on the planet a Nightblood?

The only people who wouldn’t have Nightblood genes would then be the original Primes, as they were artificial Nightbloods. But most of them died when Russell killed them, and it seems that none of the Primes never had any biological children other than those that they had already had before (Josephine, Kaylee, Daniel, Ryker).

Unless they did have another set of non-Nighblood embryos, which seems like the only explanation. But I’m not sure why those would have been necessary - if the planet turned out to be feasible for living for non-Nightbloods, Nightbloods could still live on it. Would Eligius have provided regular embryos if they already had the genetically engineered ones?

The retconning in The 100 was kinda ridiculous. As early as the second episode - getting rid of Kane’s wife - they were having issues. Why didn’t they just cut her scenes out before they aired it? It’s so evident that Clarke was being teased as Lexa’s heir in Season 2. But then, Jason had to come up with a way of explaining the commanders and what made them special. And even in Season 4, I think a better choice would’ve been giving Clarke the flame then. Maybe Roan and Luna back her claim? And the fact that the first commanders weren’t natural nightbloods either should’ve helped her. The grounders respected strength and no one was more respected than Clarke. Lexa also held her close, I don’t think the objections made a lot of sense. It feels like Roan’s character kept going in circles and then they killed him off. To be honest, I would’ve supported a Roan and Clarke relationship. Her struggling to maintain leadership would’ve been better than Praimfaya for me.

I feel like Praimfaya is where they reached a point of no return. Mari should’ve never been introduced. She was used for one season and then was just a nuisance. Them reverting from Octavia -who was basically Wonkru’s Jesus - to the flame and Madi was horrible. Not only was it nonsensical, but again we were going in circles. I being leader meant they were stepping away from the flame - why go back? And Wonkru was fanatical for O - moreso than we’d seen them for Lexa who was basically the first conqueror in Grounder society. Then them giving the Flame all these random powers that were never spoken of or used before made no sense. Sheidheda was horrible. He was such a nuisance because he didn’t feel like an actual villain. The crazy thing is: I thought the Primes were good. Really Good. They should’ve done some Time Dilation- the Primes had been there for more than 2 centuries. There was more than one city: feuds and whatnot. Give them a whole mythology. Then bringing the Flame back would’ve made more sense. Having Raven make another one and finding some way of storing already dead people in it could’ve been cool. We could’ve actually met all of the people we lost again. A triumvirate of Clarke, Raven, and Octavia…I would’ve loved to see it. Gabriel did not have to die. I liked the dude O ended up with at the end, but Gabriel was an interesting character. And he was over 200 years old - mentally.

Even Bardo wasn’t bad. They just didn’t do it right. The Judge trying to claim moral superiority? After watching all these races struggle and kill each other without lifting a finger? Yeah, ok. It being ambivalent would’ve made a lot more sense and been truer to the core of the series: nothing is black and white. Bellamy being converted made sense: Bellamy was always prone to stuff like that, he had never been on the other side of that(Wanheda, Heda, Blodreina), and he was in a state of extreme isolation for months with a fanatic at high risk of death. Yeah, indoctrination makes sense. Clarke killing him made sense - she was going to let her own mother die. Bellamy being ok with the high risk of Madi dying? That’s where it became unbelievable. And that’s another thing: they dropped the ball with Madi, Ethan, and Finalkru. They should’ve been fully adopted and accepted by them. Ethan should’ve been O’s Madi. They didn’t know how to handle children - even the ones they aged up. Keeping Monty, Harper, and Diyosza would’ve been better than having Jordan and Hope. Who was the second commander? It wasn’t Calliope. How did nightblood get bred out of the GP? Why wasn’t it selected for? Biologically we’d want to conserve as much energy, but metabolizing radiation at that seems like an advantage that wouldn’t have been selected against. Everyone on the earth would’ve needed it to leave the bunkers - they couldn’t have killed everyone with it for it to be selected against. The ending was alright, but I’m still not thrilled about it.😭

"We know their founders on Eligius III were all nightbloods." Clarke said to the group with Nova next to her.

"And we know, hereditarily, It's incredibly rare." Abby then said staring at Nova who looked at a picture of their first landing,she wonders what would have happened if team alpha had never gotten the nightblood serum,the primes wouldn't exist,the body snatching,the obsession with immortality,Nova always wondered if they would have died in the radiation or in a bunker somwhere while still on earth.

"Princess Clarke, Perfect." Murphy said,making Nova smile softly.

"Not perfect if it makes her a target." miller said to Murphy.

"He's right." Nova said clearing her throught,although the children of Gabriel weren't the only threat they had to worry about.

She also knows the group was still weary of her,somtimes catching the glances From Abby and Murphy.

"It does,Which is why we can't tell them about Madi...unless you already did, Think,You told her everything else." Clarke said walking towards Jordan, refering to Delilah.

Nova wondered if the paralasis had worn off yet,she would have to check up on the girl later.

"I didn't tell her that,I was just being friendly,I'm--I'm the reason they're throwing us out." Jordan stamered.

"Not if I have anything to say about it." Nova said resting a hand on his shoulder,a small migrain forming.

And so she grabbed her note book and drew,She was behind the bar so no one could see.

And she wanted to scream,on the page rose's small body laid dead from a bullet wound,Bellamy's sister Octavia appeared to be covering her,but it was too late.

She slammed her book shut as a Child's voice entered the room,a girl,not rose.

Appearing from behind the counter she saw a black haired girl around 12 ran to Clarke.

"Clarke!" the child exclaimed hugging the blonde.

"Oh, I'm so glad to see you,You okay?" Clarke asked Madi worried,the others stared at the scene fondly.

Bellamy had glanced at Nova, the two waving at eachother, well Nova waved,Bellamy gave a small smile.

Hugs were passed around,and Nova gave John another drink,as Raven and Bellamy came up to them.

Raven gave her a small nod,while Bellamy hugged her as she leaned over the bar,it was suprising,two strangers hugging as if they've known eachother for a lifetime,then again nothing on sanctum really made sense.

Although she noticed Octavia missing,she feared her vision might be coming true right now.

" You looked better dead." Raven said to murphy as she hugged Emori.

Murphy however just stared at the bar until Bellamy put a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry." Bellamy said to him as Nova went over to Echo, giving the girl a quick hug , Echo tensed at the sudden affection,but hugged her back, it was progress.

"It's not your fault, man." Nova heard Murphy say as she walked back towards the bar.

Nova caught the child,known as Madi,staring at her as if she was dreaming.

Children and their imaginations , Nova gave her a soft smile when Astrid flew over Echo's head and onto Madi's.

"Clarke! , Its a dragon a real one not fake!" Madi exclaimed excited.

Clarke laughed softly at the child's joy , giving Nova a small smile that the girl returned.

The peace was then ruined as her parents and the guards that entered the bar.

Bellamy raised a brow as the girl turned around downing a shot.

" It's been a long day, so I'll keep this short,Sanctum was created to be a sanctuary for the human race,After seeing you save Delilah, we've decided that you deserve that, too,and Nova seems to enjoy your presance." Russel said glancing at his daughter,who downed another shot.

Nova perked a brow,somthing else was going on,glancing at Bellamy who was listening to the conversation,resulting in Murphy snorting when he caught her staring.

She looked away as Bellamy turned to Murphy wondering what was so funny.

"You changed your mind?,We can stay?" Clarke asked Russel, what were his motives.

"For now, but no more of you, You will follow our rules and respect our traditions, and we will teach you how to survive here." Simone said to the group.

Nova scoffed at her Mother's words,gaining her tense glare.

Incase you haven't noticed,her and her Mother's relationship wasn't perfect , ever since the first red sun,although it didn't compare to how broken Nova's relationship with Josephine was.

Bellamy and Murphy both raised a brow as the girl downed yet another shot,they lost count at how many she had,and yet she wasn't even buzzed.

"Wonder what else she can swallow." Murphy whisperd elbowing Bellamy,not knowing Nova was listening.

"Shut up Murphy." Bellamy whisperd back,elbowing him in the stomach.

"What my wife is trying to say is,welcome to Sanctum." Russel said with a smile,Nova came from behind the bar and sat on Bellamy's lap wrapping an arm around his shoulder, mostly because there was no where else to sit.

The group smiled,Nova also noticed two other newcomers besides Madi,A girl with frosted tips and dark skin that stood with Clarke and Madi, and another woman,who was pregnant,but Nova recognized her from a history book,infact she was her personal favorite to learn about.

Bellamy earned glares from her parents and a smirk from Murphy and Echo as Nova made herself comfortable.

"You're with child, How far along?"Her Mother asked the Pregnant woman,and Nova feared what would happen once they realize who she was.

"6 months, give or take." Diyoza stated.

" Through cryosleep then?" Simone questioned.

" Right." the woman answered.

" That's remarkable,If you'd like, we can have one of our prenatal physicians examine you in the morning." Her Mother asked.

Nova leaned more into Bellamy,who wrapped his arms around his waist.

" I'd like that, Thank you." Diyoza said to Simone.

" You should have seen Diyoza and Octavia fighting terrorists." Madi said,Causing Nova to tense,and her Father looking towards Diyoza.

Oh children never know when to keep their mouths shut,but she'll give Madi a pass,she has a feeling this child has great things happen to her in the future.

"Where is Octavia?" Clarke questioned as Nova saw Bellamy glance at Clarke who looked right at him,Nova placed a hand on his chest to comfort him.

But she felt bad for Octavia,one day she hopes they'll rekindle their relationship,unlike her and Josephine,she wonders what made the two break their bond in the first place.

"Charmaine Diyoza?" Russel questioned as Nova let out a sigh.

"Yes." she answered.

"Escort this woman past the shield right now." Her father said to the Guards.

"Dad! leave her alone,she's pregnant." Nova stated to her father,both her and Bellamy getting up.

Russel glared as Nova walked up to him , however it was nothing compared to the hardened glare he gave bellamy.

"Just wait,What is this?" Bellamy questioned as Nova just glared at her father,giving a sorry glance to Diyoza who nodded at her.

" Seems my reputation precedes me." Diyoza said.

"You could say that. Your face is in our history books next to Hitler and Bin Laden." her father said.

"Dad!" Nova hissed at her father,Bellamy saw Simone clench her fist about to walk over until Bellamy narrowed his eyes at her.

"Please, what about the baby?" Abby pleaded.

Nova nodded in agreement , earning another glare from her mother.

"If any of you would care to join her,be my guest." Russel stated,Giving Nova a glance screaming "Stay put or else."

"Madi..." Clarke said Grabbing her,pulling her back.

"It's okay, kid,Stay frosty." Diyoza said as guards pulled her out of the building.

"We better hope the trees get her before the children of Gabriel do because if she joins forces with them, we're gonna need more than a radiation shield to protect us." Nova heard her Mother say.

"Im sorry." Nova said to the group as she ran her hand through her hair.

"It's okay."Clarke said placing a hand on her shoulder.

"One way or another, the devil gets his due." Murphy said as him and Nova clink their glasses.
