i have to roll my eyes at people who say you can't be team green and be fans of the starks/martells at the same time, especially for the martells because they practise primogeniture.

aside from the fact that you can like different characters, i kinda need you to be real about something.

so princess arianne martell's plan to try and put myrcella on the throne even though she had a younger brother who was already crowned was ALWAYS about arianne's interests. she believed that her inheritance was being threatened, and she saw myrcella as a way to fight against that. she knew that having myrcella on that throne would be a vital ally in arianne inheriting dorne without quentyn taking it.

this doesn't make arianne any less sympathetic or interesting or refreshing or necessary character but the truth is if she wasn't worried about her own rights, she would not have tried the queenmaker plot because why would she? like once doran is finally honest with his daughter, myrcella isn't relevant to arianne anymore. i mean ofc she still cares about her and feels guilty for the harm done to her, but she's not relevant to arianne becoming princess of dorne. she's not which is why she isn't insisting on myrcella still being queen because she's older.

Game of Thrones didn’t do justice to Dorne, the Dorne Plot and Princess Arianne. Her chapters were EASILY the best in a Feast For Crows and the way that she handles what she think is her father’s rejection is so realistic, coming from a young adult with daddy issues.

The fans who only watched the show will never know about the gem that is Princess Arianne. They have robbed us of our queen🙏🏽 and the good characterisation of the sand snakes
