Few things make me long for UBI like reading the qualifiers on the assistance programs that already exist. If you buy food for your friends we will ruin your life. If you try to barter for necessities this program doesn't cover we will ruin your life. If you have ever had a problem with substance abuse we will ruin your life. Yes we know you can't afford to eat (or you wouldn't be on this program at all) but if you break any of our rules we will not only kick you off but make you ineligible for ANY ASSISTANCE for TEN YEARS. Hell. Hell world.

Or, more accurately, 1001! (it was 999 yesterday so it happened overnight!)

I always thought anyone who would've been interested in this story would've already read it by late 2023. I did expect a little bump after it was done, since some people don't like reading WIPS. But due to fan art and word of mouth and ??? new people coming into fandom ??? the stats keep going up!

Public bookmarks are the total seen here: 1001. As the author, I can see the total number of public + private bookmarks, which is 1764.

Obviously fanfiction stats are internet points that don't really matter irl but BUT BUT BUT it's very exciting to see. I wish I knew what the actual readership is :u My best guess during posting was between 2500-3500 people (I took note of number of hits before and after a chapter was posted), but now I'm wondering if the total is around 5000.

I'm glad people continue to discover and enjoy the fic!

We're also closing in on 200,000 hits faster than I previously thought. I wanted to do another round of mini prints as a thank you, either for 200k or for the 5 year anniversary of the first ch being posted. I might go for the 5 year since I dodn't have anything planned or put together yet (plus the printer I like to support has sales around xmas 👀). Or maybe I'll just lose my mind and do it at 200k lol.

This is the first time ever my art is "officially presented" - in a place other than my website or social media! I am over the moon!

Thanks to everybody who reposted or liked my art! You have given me the courage to submit my art! I am also grateful that the curator of the exhibition, math professor and math artist Christopher Hanusa created a truly open call for art - not requiring a formal education in art or a track record as an artist!

I've submitted four images out of thirteen in the series to the exhibition. Here is the complete series on my website, with more background and links to the many different artistic experiments I did with Reality and Imagination - real and imaginary part of complex function 1/z :-)

Okay, but competing schools of thought on seal designs:

Intricate elegance versus functional modularity.

Seals that emphasize beauty in functionality, that spiral out into painterly designs with a focus on stylistic balance and contrasts and are honestly works of arts along with performing a task. It’s not just about creating a seal that’s stable and effective, it’s also about the presentation of the seal, the artistry in the creation and materials used. Could this seal become a heirloom piece, is it worth being embedded in the home and clothing of higher caste individuals? Does it bring beauty even to the most humble housing?

Seals that instead par down components and functions to the simplest component parts. Completely cast aside artistry - that brings in flairs and cursive scripts and unique signatures from the seal maker - and go down to the most basic functional pieces of what comes together into a seal. Could you approach seals with the mindset of going down to the most basic components and stringing pieces together like a circuit board? Could this help standardize seals because by the spirits we don’t have time for being special, we need a thousand explosion seals with standardized charges as soon as possible.

I really wanna get a camera but I can't decide which kind. help me

polaroid: I've always wanted a working Polaroid. I have one but I don't think it works. I've only been able to test it with old film though and it seems like it wants to work, it just won't spit anything out. so it's possible it works and it's just the film being too old. Polaroid film is MUCH more expensive especially if I'm buying brand new film (like $20 for 8 pictures). but it's instant and that's cool

35mm: more expensive upfront cost (about $20), but much cheaper film (~$10 for 36 pictures). a little less cool and I can't see the pictures til I get them developed (which costs money also :/). I don't already have one tho

I feel like a lot of Americans have to be lying about being middle class because having to admit that they have money makes them feel bad or something. Buying current gen gaming consoles at launch is not "middle class" shit okay I grew up in a sufficiently middle class family and we were never able to afford stuff like that. If you can consistently afford to upgrade to the latest tech as it comes out you are a rich person. That's rich people behavior.
