induced to me by my contemporary art exam AND a rewatch of rebels after years that. got me into sabezra unexpectedly AND i updated krita and there were many new brushes i wanted to try
refs (IF U CAN PLS HELP ME FIND THE ORIGINAL COSPLAYERS i can't find anything EDIT: found them!! they're starwars_irl on insta and @rebelartistwren / lionesscosplay on insta. thank you guys <3) and ✨colored version✨ under the cut
i can't find themmmmm I've been looking for 2 days but all i found were uncredited reposts

anyway they look amazing

i really wanted to try greyscaling but I'm not sure it looks good. idk. + while i was making it i was listening to i love you by fontaines d.c. (GREAT SONG FROM A GREAT UNDERRATED BAND) and. the grey fit into that mood much better
also two versions without the sketch lines. where ezra looks happier even if they're uglier

#i didn't expect to like them as a ship ngl. but there are some moments that recall kanera (AND I LOVE THEM) especially if you've read#a new dawn. and IDK COOL!! probably i didn't ship them from the start because. in s1-s2 they're just kids and everytime i reach s3 i keep#brainrotting on thrawn <3 and kallus <3 and zeb <3 idk i kinda forgot about them and all the scenes they were in LMAO#ALSO. i love you is truly a wonderful song wtf?? it's not something I'd associate to sabezra BUT probably after having listened to it for a#month. and having drawn this in the meantime. i found some connections. the fact that the songs alternated between that melodic part#that talks about love to the other verses about (very generally) society. just felt like how their relationship would go. rapidly switching#between the fast paced fights for the rebellion to the calm of the preparation they require that can allow them for some tenderness. ALSO#ezra is so much “if there was sunshine it was never on me / so close the rain; so pronounced is the pain”#and sabine is pretty much “you only open the window; never open up the door” sometimes. especially before her darksaber arc#btw i know this song is about ireland and their relationship with theid country BUT it just prompted me to their grey figures#and colorful background. also. there's something about klimt making some of the most tender representations of love ever imo BUT keep#choosing to represent rather dark iconographies whenever he's asked to do something (I'm thinking about the medicine panels for the uni)#like. there is a similar contrast in there as well. also i like that. ursa had a portrait of herself in her home that referenced klimt#like. it's ursa in her prime; in a literal golden age. i can imagine sabine associating a good moment - one of her bests - to such an#expressive decoration. and maybe stripping colors away when that moment is gone and all that remains is the memory and feeling#OKAY WHY DID I TALK SO MUCH i must've put more thought on this that i previously thought. crazy#it started as a fun experiment to try krita's oil brushes. *in david byrne's voice* how did i get here?#star wars#sw#star wars rebels#star wars fanart#star wars rebels fanart#ezra bridger#sabine wren#ezrabine#sabezra#sabine wren fanart#ezra bridger fanart#sw fanart#g posting

i love lucisev in any flavor its given to me but in particular i really enjoy 1) lucisev thats been together since pre going back in time and dont even remember when they “happened” theyve just always been a forever constant and comfort without having to label it or eachother until they dont have it anymore (being separated post time jump) and 2) lucisev that has never happened and its been a pining disastrous mess for years on both ends but then selena leaves for nohr and when laslow and odin ask what she’s holding herself back for she doesnt answer but they already know. when they come back home, selena searches everywhere for her and sometimes, she’s too late. lucina’s already packed up and left the world behind, and for what? no one really knows. but sometimes, she finds her again, but it’s been so long and lucina’s not sure they can go back to being the same way they used to be, not after feeling hurt and betrayed by severa’s sudden departure. but things like this take time, and selena is finally at a place in her life where she can decidedly say she has all of the time in the world.
#ann plays awakening#lucisev#ITS ALMOST PRIDE LUCISEV GIRLS WYA COME OUT COME OUT COME OUT#i just really love lucisev no matter how its served to me#but i feel like a lot of the time its mostly severa’s perspective we see in interpretations of their relationship?#which IS AWESOME#severa in general has such an interesting perspective on the world and how she views life#not to mention romance and probably lucina. just because of. you know. the Mom thing.#but i think lucina’s perspective is just as interesting and i feel like a lot of people wash away lucina’s flaws bc like#just as characters. severa has way more OUTWARDLY NEGATIVE flaws#so things like her attitude and how she treats people puts her more in that kind of ‘box’#whereas lucina’s kind and calm demeanor puts her in that ‘box’#FANDOM TROPES is what im thinking of. the boxes.#and this happens to every popular ship im sure but i dont have a lot of those so i mostly just see it for them and for the most part its#like fine. their backstory is unique enough to where i wouldnt call it mischaracterization or anything bc they still often possess the#qualities that make them lucina and severa#but i just feel like in doing so it scrubs away the messier parts of lucina and her own insecurities and doubts and bitterness that she#doesnt really show as much. though whos really showing those off as much as severa you know 😭#so i think itd be fun if lucina DIDNT welcome severa back with open arms. lucina has lost everything so many times and i think if she lost#the woman that she loves so much (along with her cousin!! and some other guy) and she grieves and she mourns#and then severa just comes back like ‘ahaha sorry. miss me?’ WELL YEAH. OBVIOUSLY.#but to have to have grieved and lost only for the universe to return her to you once you thought you might have had a chance to move on.#isnt that fucked up. ISNT THAT FUCKED UP and i think lucina would see it that way. or she could. and i think thats fun#i want to see lucina have the outbursts i want to see lucina do the pushing away and pulling back#bc while severa is in nohr rebuilding her confidence and making new connections and memories and moving on#lucina is stuck between wanting to be with her family and feeling like she doesnt belong in ylisse anymore#and yeah the other kids are all still there but they all have plans for their lives after the war as shown in their endings#but what does lucina do?#anyways. i do want them to have their happy ending EVENTUALLY. they both have the capacity to forgive and keep going. it just takes a second#I HAD MORE TO SAY BUT I HIT THE TAG CAP FUCK

YOU. YOU'RE THE TRANSFEM INTERSEX RATIO PERSON. I LOVE YOU.
:o!! It's me indeed, hello!!!
I'm glad you like the headcanon, she's everything to me tbh. You can safely assume any time I talk about Ratio that this conception of her is in my mind.
ramblings under the cut (CW: vague mentions of intersexism and transmisogyny)
About her being intersex, I usually have two sets of headcanons: one where she has nCAH and the other hyperandrogenic PCOS. Part of why I have this headcanon is projection ofc; but it's also because I like the idea of Ratio in her goal to cure the disease of ignorance, she desires to destroy the false concept of the sex binary. It makes the goal very personal to her, being affected by intersexism, in addition to the altruism.
I think Ratio struggled a lot in her transition journey, because she felt like she had to give up a lot of the things she liked about her body and herself and had to conform to beauty standards she didn't like in her attempts to achieve the Ideal Woman status. I think she used to do extensive voice training, wear full beat makeup, and tried to avoid putting on muscle to give the thin and dainty vibe. Even though she likes her deep voice, a full face is a sensory nightmare for her, and trying to keep her body mass down was unhealthy for her...that's what she thought she needed to do. Her oddly British accent (odd for a character Greek and Roman inspired) is from imitating women she thought of as elegant and refined. She used to wear pumps in her classroom and offices even though she hated how they hurt her feet, because that's what other women wear to work.
And I imagine the Ratio we have in the present is one who is secure in her gender identity that she does not feel the need to overperform femininity. She knows that she does need to be accepted by others to know her own worth. Her body is toned and built, she speaks with a deep voice, wears clothes that are comfortable for her (cutouts for ventilation and a nice pair of sandals), puts on red eyeliner and calls it a look. And you can tell she loves it because of all those statues lmao.

hiii @nyxlunaire !!!! sorry i did attempt to type this all in the replies but im a rambler and got smacked with the character limit because i had so much to say so im making it a post! but just know i never mind!! im so flattered ur interested 😭 also if you want me to untag you lmk, i just wanted to make sure you know that i am responding!! just somewhere else. theyre honestly among my favorite sibling pairings in fire emblem, maybe right behind eirika and ephraim which is kind of crazy bc lucina and inigo are definitely. not canon siblings in any way!! but in my head they are and they make a lot of sense to me! overall i think their relationship is a positive one and a close one. there’s a couple of strains, what with inigo’s relatively lackadaisical attitude being a bit annoying for lucina who was probably raised with more rigor (chrom was still ALIVE), and i can imagine lucina’s headstrong-ness could have bothered inigo. but you know. siblings piss eachother off. it happens. i dont think it happens as much with these two, especially in the bad timeline when they both REALLY needed to lock in to stay alive. to me, what really makes them interesting is everything post coming back in time
so they both come back in time and have wildly different experiences with obviously just landing, but more importantly with chrom and olivia. obviously just because of how gameplay works, inigo WOULD have a closer relationship with olivia, and lucina WOULD have a closer relationship with chrom. those have the intentional parent conversations as opposed to the generic ones with their variable parent but that doesnt change that they happen! and so for starters, with inigo specifically, we all know this one. we all know the infamous inigo pc support in which his dad, chrom in this case, compares inigo to lucina and reprimands him for not taking the fight seriously, falling for inigo’s teehee silly dumbass facade that he puts up and thus, despite the resolution in the A support, theres still a distance and there’s still a strain between them that is less than it was before but still present (this you can tell in how chrom treats future past inigo!!)
so we all know that one, very popular non-canon parent-child relationship blah blah blah. but i think what goes underlooked is lucina’s conversation with olivia (and her mother in general). this makes sense, because this support is truly nothing to write home about. its like, cute. but its generic and not all that interesting aside from the acknowledgment of baby lucina. but what im really interested in is the language lucina uses here and in her future past conversations with olivia and when she reunites with her parents after the henry chapter (12? 13?) and its very interesting if you’re someone who likes to read too much into the text where nothing was intended to be this way (me). i wont go into EVERY detail right now with olivia and lucina bc this is supposed to be about the siblings, but its important to note that lucina… does not know olivia. “her olivia died!” very true, but that came after chrom’s death, and lucina is able to adjust to having chrom back very easily! like its natural! but with olivia, she doesnt know how to talk to her. she doesnt understand her clothes, she doesnt know how to read olivia’s reactions, she doesnt know what to say or do when she meets olivia for the first time, and this isnt a problem that i see resolved in the A support all that well. its not the same kind of distance chrom and inigo have, but it is distance.
back to what you actually asked me, because i do have a point with this! i think that inigo and lucina, whether or not they realize it and whether or not they ever admit it to themselves, are jealous of eachother. what lucina has with chrom is what inigo has always needed growing up—a father figure who he can count on the support and love of. but when he found chrom, any stories and descriptions he knew from lucina break instantly once they talk. he says, “For being such a softie with everyone else, he doesn’t pull any punches with me.” how. interesting. and with lucina, i think it would be insane for her to see inigo, who knew their mother for even less time, immediately fall into step with her. they bond over dancing, shyness, and seem to get on well immediately. lucina didnt get that! when lucina saw her mom for the first time, olivia was crying and lashing out at her dad! resolved almost instantly, of course, but that’s a horrible thing to come back to! and she doesnt dance, she doesn’t understand her mom’s anxiety, she doesn’t get the same advice from olivia that inigo does. why? that question will never be answered. but it bothers her, and when siblings are jealous of eachother in this way, it leads to strain. obviously, it wont ruin their relationship. at the end of the day, theyre siblings who love eachother, and at this point, inigo is one of the only people in the world who can truly understand what lucina has been facing and is one of her strongest supporters. but they’re also young and are relishing in the comfort of having their parents back again as well as the discomfort of experiencing sibling rivalry for the first time. the worst part, though, is that they dont get to fix this.
blah blah blah awakening happens grima dies blah blah blah and then BAM. inigo? gone. hes outtie. disappears without a trace and supposedly without any real heads up, and if there is a heads up, its probably wildly inaccurate about the time hes gonna be gone!! and we all know how laslow feels about leaving (immense guilt and despair and sadness and grief) but what if he left a sister behind? a sister that, despite reassurances, feels out of place with her “parents” and who’s watching the rest of her friends move on and start the rest of her lives? a sister who had always planned to go back to their shithole of a home, but never thought she’d have to do it without her little brother by her side, or at least without a proper goodbye. will he come back? should she wait? will she wait? i dont know. i dont think either of them do know and i think thats the scary the part. when laslow comes home and reunites with the family he’s mourning for years, who he’s shared tales and stories and tidbits of with his daughter, will her auntie lucina be there to meet her too?
in my head, yes she is and they all live happily ever after forever BUT. thats a loose end worth exploring i feel. the grief and loss that follows these two is truly never ending and i feel like once you eternally interconnect them this way, through making them siblings, they get a lot more fun. i definitely have more thinking to do on post-fates them but… if they were strained before. weeell. imagine what being apart for that long without resolving your conflict will do to you. haha.
#ann plays awakening#ann writing paragraphs#I AM SORRY I COULDNT JUST REPLY TO YOU. but then i kept typing and typing and typing#i hope this answers what u were asking for 😭#i think you could try to apply this to other lucina sibling relationships but#1) not MY personal thing. i love to think about it a little but obviously i have a favorite so i’ll focus on my favorite#and 2) i think olivia is a very important piece of the puzzle when it comes to these two#and not very many people talk about her when it comes to this family dynamic! its more chrom than anything#and that makes sense because overall i do think with what the vanilla game (+dlc) gives you is a lot more interesting with chrom and inigo#as opposed to lucina and olivia if only because inigo’s generic parent support is a lot better than lucina’s#but i think that olivia!lucina specifically is SO. INTERESTING.#because lucina is such a main character in awakening its harder to note variations between different lucinas with different mothers because#there just arent any. not in the story anyways. with the exception of the reuniting scene lucina is exactly the same every time you play#and she is ALWAYS. there.#the other kids arent main characters and so headcanons about how they act are much EASIER#and how they differentiate themselves in the future past is much more impactful because they dont all have to fit into how they act#in the main story. BECAUSE THEYRE NOT IN IT 😭😭😭😭#so. i fully understand why lucina is less talked about in this regard. but i think that is a shame bc there is a lot interesting here!!#but i think it is a shame and that the potential of olivia!lucina specifically is so. FUN. and it does change how she would view inigo vs#other siblings. i also think in general olivia is a hard person to get a read on!#maybe not to us as the viewing audience but she is very. variable#much like her son. but in a very differeny way and unlike inigo who his friends KNOW#olivia is an outsider not only to lucina but to the shepherds! she is from regna ferox!! she hardly knows everyone!#and in this context she is probably just chrom’s wife to a lot of people. dont you think that’d make her act… strangely?#ANYWAYS. not to make this about olivia. i just think shes an important piece to the puzzle and i like to emphasize that#btw this is all me reading too much into generic conversations that were never meant to be read this hard

I think, in a lot of ways, Monika and Sayori are reflections of each other.
Really, I think all of the girls are similar in a lot of their issues (self-esteem, anxiety, etc) and that's something emphasized in a lot of the stories, and a big part of why they all gravitate towards each other and work to create the club as a safe space for all of them, but I think Monika and Sayori in particular are just very much alike.
I think Trust really emphasized this similarity in the reveal of Sayori's poem, Become the Flower.
Prior to shifting focus onto the poem, Monika talks to herself about her real vision for the Literature Club. I think here, Monika points out what Sayori actually meant when she said that Monika was "trying to make the club [she] needs the most, out of anyone", even if she doesn't actually realize that yet. It's pretty clear that when she says that literature is a window to the real self underneath the person who's "forced to always smile and blend in", and is "forced to be perfect", she's really talking about herself.
I think that a lot of Monika's character throughout Trust is expressed more subtly, often in a roundabout way like this. A huge part of the story is centered around Monika's own personal struggles expressing herself, and that trait is pretty well exemplified in this indirect way of talking about her own struggles. I think that the reason why Monika's characterization here is so subtle overall is reflective of this.
And I think it's pretty blatant that this is statement is also meant to be reflective of Sayori, given that we immediately move from this statement onto the poem which reveals to Monika that she's been hiding her own problems. In this way, I think Team Salvato wanted to explicitly point out how similar they really are, and draw your attention to it.
I think that the way that Trust as a story is put together is meant to really emphasize just how similar they are even in their differences; spending a great deal of time focusing on Monika's own problems, to then showcase Sayori as the mirror to them.
I think the two of them make a very interesting pair in that respect, because a big similarity they have is that they very much place others above themselves, so they both end up individually building each other up while they put themselves down. It creates this strange back and forth where they each insist they suck and the other is great, when the reality is that they're both pretty fantastic.
In the statement Monika made to herself about her vision of the club, while it's clear she's talking about herself, she frames it in the context of somebody else getting those benefits out of the Literature Club, rather than herself. Throughout the entirety of Trust, she speaks dismissively of her efforts and her problems alike, while pointing out that Sayori is providing a lot of help. Sayori by contrast spends most of her time hyping her up and points out, explicitly, that Monika doesn't give herself enough credit. She also dismisses her own efforts, pointing out in most things she does, up into the climax, that Monika is a lot better than her at whatever she's doing. And when Sayori's problems are actually revealed, she explicitly says that she doesn't want Monika to worry about her, and that she doesn't want to have this conversation.
I think this all really shows that both of them are averse to tackling their own problems head-on, and I think this comes out of a fear of being vulnerable, since that's directly mentioned several times in Monika's issues openly expressing herself.
I think what makes Monika's particular brand of self-negging quite so disheartening is that she dismisses it out of hand as her being silly and dramatic, and in that way, she doesn't actually address the fundamental problem underlying it, nor does she actually address the statements themselves as incorrect. The amount of time she spends talking down her own problems as something trivial and silly, particularly in comparison to Sayori's problems, are a manifestation of her own desire to avoid the vulnerability of even having these problems, and it's just...heartbreaking. Sayori's denial is its own can of worms, but Monika's ability to so consistently minimize her issues when they are clearly still impacting her is so uniquely troublesome.
I think a big difference between the two of them in that respect is that Monika wears significantly more of her heart on her sleeve, so Sayori finds it a lot easier to directly target Monika's problems than Monika does in the reverse, but their individual habits of avoidance are coming from the same place.
I'm traveling a bit aimlessly in this essay, trying to tie things together nicely as I see them, but there are just a lot of similarities I notice between their actions and the way they think that showcase that they have a lot of the same problems, and a huge theme in Trust is expressing oneself, which both Monika and Sayori struggle to do, in much the same way.
I think a key similarity between the two of them is their tendency to catastrophize over a situation when left alone, mostly revolving around seeing the worst possible scenario for how they could've personally messed up the situation. I'm just rewatching Trust for this little essay, so there are two major moments I see Monika doing this, but I remember Sayori doing this...a few times, actually, throughout the side stories.
I think the spiral Monika goes into after reading Become the Flower is particularly important, as it exemplifies the habit of dismissing her own problems fantastically; in this case, she has an excuse. It's true that Monika's issues with her perfectionism seem silly and trivial in comparison to Sayori's, but that's exactly the thing: She shouldn't be comparing them in the first place! Her problems are real, and they clearly cause her distress, but because Sayori's own issues appear so much more serious than hers, she dismisses them wholesale as her being dramatic and silly. Because Monika's problems seem so small, she doesn't see them for the problems they really are. In the same way, because her own accomplishments and work seem so small, she doesn't see them for the accomplishments they are.
This spiral showcases Monika's biggest problem, the reason why she has such trouble expressing herself, and conversely, the exact same problem Sayori has. She doesn't want to be the center of attention.
Put another way, she doesn't think she deserves to be the center of attention. Her problems are so trivial; her accomplishments menial. Her fear of vulnerability isn't a fear that others will hurt her; it's a fear of being selfish.
Sayori is very similar, in that the reason she actively works to avoid showing any possible sign that anything is wrong is because she doesn't want anyone to worry about her. She doesn't want other people to dedicate time and energy to her.
I think that for both of them, this comes from low self-esteem. Sayori is self-explanatory I think, but I'd say Monika's perfectionism makes it exceptionally difficult for her to really feel accomplished in anything she does, which, coupled with her constant preoccupation with how she appears to other people (I think Monika places very high expectations on herself. I mean, Trust literally starts with her frantically apologizing and saying "I normally don't ever do this!" when Sayori finds her napping) makes it very difficult for her to feel confident in herself.
The fear both Sayori and Monika have in being vulnerable isn't that people will use that vulnerability to hurt them.
It's that people will try to help them.
And I think that's a really big part of why Sayori feels like she can trust Monika with her darkest thoughts, because she understands that they're the same in a lot of ways.
Monika created the club which she needed the most...and it was also the club Sayori needed the most, for the exact same reason.
I think it's kinda easy to overlook a lot of this because of the sheer amount of focus placed onto Sayori and the more explicit issue Monika has (insofar as the plot is concerned), but I think Sayori is exactly what Monika needs just as much as Monika is what Sayori needs.

re: jyushi having no connections in the guidebook and him maybe considering the world’s stage
but i’ve been kinda wondering if it’s also bc jyushi’s never left nagoya in any meaningful way. in a very odd parallel between them, while dh has the standard 3 other connections all the other divisions have except bat as pictured above, none of them belong to rosho, who has also never left osaka
to round this off, ichiro’s also somebody who has never left ikebukuro and only has as many connections as he does bc others came to bukuro, so maybe this is one of the overarching reasons team ichiro was crafted for the mixed up arc 🤔

ik isagi is probably going to be captain of japan’s wc team but. captain karasu…
#IT JUST MAKES SENSE TO MEEE. karasu and isagi are very similar in terms of adaptability and generally able to get along with anyone#but i think isagi should focus on being the best striker and someone else should focus on keeping the team together#isagi is too Locked In on scoring. and i think karasu has more leading capability#i mean he strategised for the midfielders and defenders during u20 and hes very well rounded#he was a top three player during u20 arc as well#so like hes GOOD. hes good and has a wide field of vision and HE’D BE THE PERFECT CAPTAIN ARGHHHH#like with how much isagi is representing blue lock he’ll probably be captain. sigh. but#kaneshiro… make karasu captain and my life is yours#(no hate to isagi i love him i just really cant see him in a captain position. he doesnt have that leadership vibe to me)#ALSO i saw this point on twt but. karasu gets along with both rin and shidou. thats a rare ass character#he’d be able to synergise their plays and be like a middle ground between them WHICH WOULD BE SO GOOD FOR JAPAN#anyway yeah thats my thoughts#i think aiku would be a good choice too but he’s been captain before so idk if he’ll get chosen again#not sure who would be vice if thats a thing. i would like it to be reo bc i think it’d be interesting for his character#but anyone goes tbh. maybe yukki? yukki and karasu r a good duo#ok thats all bye#edit: isagi represents ego’s desire to create one best striker in the world. so someone else needs to represent anri’s desire to bring japan#the world cup. thats also why i think isagi shouldnt be captain. thank u for coming to my ted talk

qantoine’s coping mechanism to feeling left behind being both self-isolating and becoming possesive of those he cares for is so juicy as a concept . like yeah you go you funky creachure, manifest those complicated and sometimes contradictory emotions
#anyone remember that one fanart of qantoine like . grabbing onto qetoiles and covering his mouth antoine reposted to his insta story .#anyone wonder what was up with that . like he reposted fanarts every now and again but like . that one specifically was such a Choice on hi#part . fantastic fanart btw it occupies space in my brain still#but yeah god . i think qantoine’s self-isolation (+ his secrecy the way he struggled generally to connect with others etc)#was the more obvious Thing he did as a coping mechanism . but damn were those smaller moments of possessiveness interesting#bc you could often just read it as protectiveness instead and well it Was that . but i think it becomes even more interesting if u read it#through a possesive lens . theyre two sides of the same coin anw it just depends on where the limit between the two lies for u#anw i think it manifested itself most obviously with pomme bc a parent-child relationship lends itself to that dynamic more . ough some goo#moments there i’d need to revist their relationship more . ‘je te connais comme si je t’avais créé’ which just has layers of potential#meaning . if you subscribe to the theory that qantoine had a hand in creating the eggs then that adds even More to the potential#possessiveness there . love it#and it manifested with qfrench too i think just in more subtle ways . like idk when there were implications he’d done a Thing to help them#out in some way . like the implication that he had a hand in getting ayp out of prison that one time . or when he was protective of etoiles#during prison . or even moments where he failed to achieve some sort of level of power over them like when bagz and ayp broke into his#secret room and he kept giving bagz the cold shoulder when she was trying to apologise to him 😭 . idk stuff like that . semi petty bitch#energy . but i LOVE the idea of this eldritch dude who’s still figuring out how mortal relationships work kinda just . being too possessive#too controlling . all in the effort to try and keep them in One Piece . and maybe in the end it won’t matter How he keeps them safe as long#as he manages to . he’s old as hell and he’s probably gonna outlive them and theyre all so fragile and small . they won’t see the bigger#picture so he’ll have to make sure he’s manoeuvring them around inside it correctly . <- absolute hc territory in the end there but it’s#very fun to think about :P#jay rambles#antoine daniel#qfrench.posting
