What does training for an insulin pump encompass? Why is it necessary to train for one?
so, i guess to answer this fully, i should clarify what an insulin pump is. it is a wearable medical device that continuously administers insulin. basically it's a very fancy box with a cartridge of insulin attached to me by a tube for the purpose of giving myself insulin, replacing the need for multiple daily injections
for me, training was a two hours one-on-one session. it included learning how to use the actual equipment (loading insulin, inserting the infusion set, how to unhook myself from the pump to take a shower, how to give extra insulin for when i eat, what warnings mean, etc) as well as setting up the pump with settings as suggested by my doctor & syncing it with my cgm, suggestions for how not to break my pump and set my settings so they're actually useful to me and my lifestyle, suggestions for my own safety & what to do in case of emergency, and also let me have one on one time with an expert to ask questions
many of these tasks could probably be self-taught with a few youtube tutorials, and i thought about just slapping it on without training more than once as i just had the pump sitting my my room for almost two months. however administering insulin incorrectly can easily lead to a hospital visit or death, so i held back lmao

there are two polls on my end to help decide outfits! here is the first for mira!!!
to note, when i say "main fit" i mean what she would wear most often when she appears. the other outfits will not disappear into the void, they'll just sit in her wardrobe to be used more sparingly AASFSAFSA

"sure when AI overfits to the data it literally copies the source exactly, but that's a qualitatively different state from 'Real AI' with a clear dividing line. What's that dividing line you ask? Oh don't worry abt it"

I just managed to get off mha hyperfixation
And now it's happening again... Oh no
Helps with upcoming MHUI LoV event tho, it was a long time since last one happened I wonder what would happen in a new filler story part
Basically this and couple of pages of mid-final arc chapters + recent episode and next one being The Dabi episode was just too much not to get excited again
But! Important thing - I need to reread the last arc before I make anything new, if possible without finishing it to the 419 chapter and everything after, it took 2 months to really recover from the damage that chapter did
Anyway am I ready for the new event? Kinda! Do I have enough gems to get new Tomura? No! I'm not sure he'll even show up this time, because other ones were and still are really stubborn
Also Steampunk recruit took like 120 pulls in a step-up recruit and in the usual one combined
Not the best time to get LoV involved, it's cruel even
Also that one part of the page I added at the beginning was so interesting to look at and them I joked about 236 being similar. The only good thing with final arc being over is that I can say that Izuku didn't draw the parallel of seeing everyone hurt and seeing Tenko react on Mon's death
Understandable why, but it's funny to just look at them and be like, "wow Horikoshi traumatized them both"

Let's be honest, and I say this with full offense, Lucerys Velaryon is the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Dance of the Dragons. He is meant to be a sacrificial lamb to kick off the entire war proper. If we had gotten a full season of development with him like we did with the younger cast in Game of Thrones, I guarantee more people would've felt something. The only reason I personally feel bad is from a baseline level of empathy, because he was a child who was placed in an unwinnable situation due to his mom being completely irresponsible with him and his brothers.
However…
The comparison between Lucerys and Aemond is no contest. Love him or hate him, Aemond has an actual personality and goals when we first meet him. There's enough dimension in Aemond as a child to showcase the potential for sympathy between him and Jace at the funeral, a scene they didn't need to put in, but they did, which emphasizes his own innocence. Even before he breaks bad fully in S1E10, he's still far more compelling to watch due to the number of scenes allocated to him and his dynamic with other people.
This is where you and I are going to disagree just a bit, because Lucerys does do something in S1E07 and S1E08. He gouges out the eye of a family member and petulantly whines that he “didn’t do anything!” when confronted with the possibility of getting in trouble for it, then years later has the nerve and complete lack of sense to giggle at the person he permanently maimed only hours after his legitimacy was publicly called into question (again) and resulted in a murder. The narrative (perhaps unintentionally) glosses over these moments in favor of portraying him as good, whereas if you read between the lines, you can see that as being an oversimplification. The problem is that because S1 was truncated, secondary characters like Lucerys don’t receive screentime dedicated to portraying anything other than a single personality trait. Unfortunately, because of his role in the text and the way it was adapted for television, there was never a chance that Lucerys would be interesting.
I don't even have anything to add, this is just objectively correct.
