Were he being entirely honest, he could not for the life of him remember the last time that he'd even seen Anubis in passing, let alone spoken to him.  It'd definitely been before he'd seen Bast the next-to-last time, and it had been a good few centuries before even they'd started talking again.  It stood to reason, therefore, that Zalgo couldn't quite remember what terms he had Anubis had been on the last time they'd spoken.  It still made him feel like an awful person.

It may have been that that led him to wander around Egypt itself on and off for a few days.  His human disguise was easy enough to tweak to make him blend amongst the populace... for the most part.  He still had the outrageously black-and-red dyed hair and the obscene amount of piercings, not to mention his very punk-inspired and scanty clothing, but considering the current temperature in the African nation, he didn't think it was too odd to be dressed how he was.  Midriff shirts were acceptable for 65 degree weather, right?

On this particular occasion of wandering, Zalgo found himself staring up at the ever-famed pyramids.  Odd that no one was around, the god mused, though in wandering past a ticket office that would still be closed for another hour and a half, his question was readily answered.  A question he had not asked was also answered, as the office sported loudly and clearly which pyramid was closed for preservation, and therefore would be completely empty.

As if Zalgo could pass up a tomb all to himself.  Besides, what if his game was raw enough to have scored a place in some of those murals?  He had ancient Egyptian followers, after all...

With that decision in place and a quick look around, he passed through the wall of the ticket booth to emerge somewhere in the restricted pyramid's inner sanctum and took a deep breath.  Yep.  Smelled like dead.
